The dragonflight story and characters were way too soft. Though the Fyrak fight in Amidrassil was amazing. If the tone of the story and characters would've been more in the line of how they are in the Fyrak fight. DF could've been an amazing expansion when it came to the charaters and story.
Cata was also underrated
Okay, female player, and the soft makes me nuts. Yes, my mains are females, and you would think they would be softer, but we have our "male side" fighting. I'm excited to see Ms. Lothar (first name escapes me). She seems like one tough woman, someone I would hang with. There has to be some balance, yes. Thrall with wife and kids, Turalyon and Alleria and their son, the budding romance between Calia and Dailen Proudmore (?), and somehow Anduin has to find a mate to keep the line going. But that is NOT the driving force for WoW, any more than Sylvanas and Nathanos were. We are soldiers for the Horde or the Alliance. We may have family at home (where's player housing?) but we have jobs to do, important work of saving the universe or planet or our land yet again.
What we have to have, however, is some serious challenges to overcome. The Iron Horde, the Lich King, the Legion type of things to overcome. A single purpose to align against. Or a few someones who are stirring the pot in different ways (think Japan and Germany, two front war things). I think what has been lost sight of is CONFLICT. A good story has conflict, us against Garrosh, us against the legion, etc.
And my one pet peeve: if we're seasoned champions who have been a General, Admiral, savior of the planet, walker with kings, then stop sending us on stupid errands like gathering flowers. Unless there's no one else, we have bigger fish to fry. Maybe try to give us a few underlings to do command with, "You, Private Privy, go find flowers for the King, and none of this "well, we needed peacebloom and you bring back earthroot, okay. Meantime, I'm going over here to spy on the enemy camp and design a plan to get the crown jewels from under the butt of the troll that is sitting on it."
We need challenges. Flowers aren't challenges, they're there for the orc peons to say "work complete."
Ya know what is always weird to me? That there is this "war" but whenever something really bad happened, the leaders of the horde & alliance are best friends and help each other. Then why is there war? I mean, its World of WARcraft, they better intensify the war, and let us see what happens if they "stop being friends".
YEA now days you dont know whats a man or a woman lol snowflakes
World of wokecraft
Listen man, masculinity or not all of this "major lore characters are main story characters" is sickening for game. Good for movies and TV shows tho or expansion trailers, but not for the gameplay.
In Classic "the World" was the main character and we were painting our own adventure.
This was an RPG with MMO aspect, the world that Metzen wrote based on D&D, there is an interview with him saying that. After Wotlk they went with CoDification of expansions. Basically, making "movies" with gameplay that revolves around raiding and that's all.
You know world of warcraft is based of a game. That game is called warcraft. Do you understan now that they call it world of warcraft?
Nah, BFA was JUST as much garbage as Shadowlands.
Having Sylvanas kill Saurfang should never been allowed to happen, and only shows how little co trip they had over Steve Denuser.
The systems in BFA were also the worst cumulatively that WoW has ever done
'Brann bronzebeard, he's entered… Not Brann, sorry… Ahm… Whoever' I died lol
SWTOR & WoW have the exact same problems.
10/10 games at vanilla and both moved away from the world & the factions itself and moved on to “the big bad” that you as this hero have to conquer.
Both moved away from the base aesthetics of their respective universes to generic looking trash.
I started "seriously" playing in BFA and I really liked the expansion we focused a lot on our classical factions/characters and the story was mostly good IMO only when Sylvanas revealed herself the story went to shit but besides that I enjoyed BFA generally speaking. Music and art style of BFA is criminally underrated IMO
Flynn Fairwind is a gem!
I like OP’s Gilnean avatar, immersive.
Edit: If Khadgar and Turalyon both die but Alleria doesn’t I will cringe so hard. Those three should exit the narrative the same way they entered it: together.
Nah MoP was trash man. from start to finish an actual piece of crap expansion. Nothing about it was good for me, boring zones, boring enemies, boring story….. 1000% do not agree that it was a good expansion
