  1. Wow classic would have been great… if the hordes of toxic incel edgelords didn't join. Sodapoppin learned the hard way on feenix in like 2011 that twitch/reddit people weren't wanted in the community.

Instead of rediscovering our rose colored nostalgic memories, we get people who can't do bwl without backported wotlk addons, and have damage meters and fkn gear score stapled to their giant foreheads. It's very telling that nobody even talked about TBC. It was actually too hard for them, lmao.

The game died for a LOT of people after the first tier of cataclysm and it's been straight downhill since.

  2. I feel like you can't start WoW mid expansion. Even in wrath if they added all the catch up mechanics, you will still be very lost. It's much more manageable if you start raids from week 1 and keep up with new content as you go, that way you wont be overwhelmed by the progression and it's just you and 24 other morons trying to kill some bosses and get neat loot.

  3. As a retail enjoyer the game is really at the max level. Classic wow was more about the leveling then it was the max level content. Community is pretty split I personally don't care for leveling I enjoy the late game content the most. 3

  4. I think retail's endgame is really its strong suit, and I'm sorry you got burned out in retail before you got to experience that. The game is definitely designed with that in mind. The biggest complaints you have for wrath's endgame does not apply nearly as heavily to retail. You still gotta do a few heroic dungeons before you have the gear to do the endgame stuff. Once you're in the endgame you can really do any content you want. Mythic+ dungeons and looking for raid are some really awesome content to mess with. Plus, no matter what, if you do something every week you'll still get rewarded with big number gear in the great vault. That, and nothing beats killing a final raid boss that your guild has worked so hard to figure out and tackle. I love both osrs and wow, but something about killing a current tier raid boss with a guild just hits different.

  5. You got to experience what everyone who played WC3 did! Getting to see northrend, and see the things that we played through in the RTS was so amazing. It's why most people consider wrath to be the best expansion. Also highly recommend the Arthas book if you enjoyed those quests. Arthans and Varian Wrynn are my personal favorite books/lorewise!

  6. Regarding you saying the quests can be accepted instantly: there is an option where the quest text just flows through the moment. I have this on at all times even though I play wow since 2005. I want to read my quests. If you don't care to understand the lore without voiceovers, frankly that's your problem. All you have to do is READ. Don't be lazy. This is the problem with modern handhold gamers.

  7. This reminds me of Destiny a lot. I was there for everything, but for a new player, the story is confusing af. It’s worth trying, if only for getting to max level and doing all the really cool endgame stuff, like dungeons and raids. It can really get you hooked. We just really really need a good new player introduction. A few cutscenes to catch you up doesn’t cut it.

  8. your tutorial criticisms aren't exactly fair. Believe it or not, some people have never played an mmo. WoW got complicated fast. People ASKED for it. People wanted to get caught up and actually participate with the rest of the player base. I also think its pretty panddery to pretend killing a bunch of wolves for hours is better than a polished story intro.

  9. J1m with the eyebrow action at that party was gold. Should we expect more WoW content? Other MMOs? As someone who played the WoW demo a lot way back when, this made me kind of want to give it a go.

  11. 23:50 ye I hate it, and when you hit 70 they still scale to some degree with your item level, which is really really bad.
32:00 hard agree, they should had done it way differently but now it's just "choose something to spam dungeons"
Personally I do my things with guild in "Retail" and level my characters in Season of Discovery. I like the leveling process in Vanilla/SoD the most and that's what I felt in love with wow for.
