Does anyone else think relic fragments should be… Archeology???
That All Seeing Crystal is going to be good on a slow/empty server and a PiA on a busy one. You see Mob D has it, but need to kill ABC to get to it and look who zooms past you to kill that mob. That will get annoying rather quickly I'd think, unless it's a mult-tag/either faction tag thing. The rest of the rep grind is expected – it's what Blizz does anymore – grind/farm/grind – not enough story, so not a surprise at all. Glad they're still using stygia for things, as one of the few that doesn't hate the Maw the way it is!
As a member of the targeted audience, this system has me cautiously optimistic. With just the right amount of tweaking, this looks to be a rather rewarding gameplay loop and I'm glad that blizzard hasn't forgotten about the solo/casual player. Same goes for you soul, most other content creators tend to ignore the casual players so thanks for looking out for us.
well fuck guess my conduits are not getting upgraded in 9.1 except for what's in the raid

I like to keep my alts respectable and I found it very hard during 9.0 . This system will allow my alts to be respectable by simply playing "the game" not farming M+ etc. So For ME, that's good enough.
if Stygia stays as the currency i am gonna be grinding the Maw for those goodies, especially the Crafter's Marks, big gold is gonna be made with those ilvl 200 Epics for the Alts.

I noticed that you are doing this "Casual" content with a level 220 Protection Paladin. Sitting on your mount while mobs beat on you with your menu open and pulling a dozen mobs at a time is probably a different experience than my level 195 Mage will have. Perhaps content creators like you could try a character that is more in line with the content you comment about. If this is for a non grouping world content audience, using a raid geared PTR Protection Paladin might not be applicable.
I think we need to prepare ourselves for one of these core currencies or rep bars or rebranded versions of either to be the "look, all four SL seasons are going to be 8 months because we're behind due to covid but at the same time trying to kill the idea of it not being advisable to play before the X.3 tail" hook. One of them is going to be the new anima or, worse, grateful offerings.
So the numbers might not be as incomplete as you are guessing.
Yeah, assuming the numbers on the Codex are adjusted, that looks like something I could do. The current numbers are a big fat no thanks, though!
Soul, you sounded so exhausted explaining the Archivist Codex…why do they continue to make such convoluted systems.

I can't believe I still have to farm stygia in 9.1, I thought they'd become obsolete.
I still have the oribos quest to loot an item from the great vault; so definitely the target audience. Hoping there’s oodles of anima eventually because I still need hundreds of weeks. I’m always significantly behind in iLvl so gear is meaningless for me but pets, mounts and other collectibles, that’s my endgame.
How is the gear upgraded? I don't have the achieves to upgrade my mythic plus gear so the valor has been useless.

I need to see some hard data that you will be swimming some currency when you have engouth rep or what it my be. I use fellings In a video game when I need to see how it is to play that video game: does it fell good or bad, frustrating, boring etc.
Maybe advocate that casual players are not an after thought… they might lose less of us if they would just listen to the not so important players that pay every month for 15 straight years…for many, including myself, they are always too late every expansion and it isn't fun the way they implement everything, good luck and fight for the little guys… thanks…

As a solo player just about to leave WoW this gives me a tiny hope. I just hope like you said they change the numbers of how many resources are needed to barter for stuff. If they don't then I'm out.
Seems like a great alternative gearing path, but it will not be viable for solo/casual gameplay if the game devs do not add the option of getting relic fragments from world/daily/weekly quests and Korthia/Maw assault caches.
Rares may not be soloable or even available at all when you happen to visit Korthia, and the option to buy keys to create rifts will likely only be efficient if you do it in a group. (Players who spend hours on each alt every day camping rares and treasures are not really casual in my opinion.)

the moment I heard that rewards from the quartermaster in Korthia are bought with stygia you get from the MAW my face did caved in from disgust. like WHY BLIZZARD?!! how loud must the community shout before you get that we don't like going to the maw!

Turns out the socket and conduit upgrade items can also drop in the Adamant Vaults. Or at least they can in this current build of the PTR. Who knows if it will go live like that, but probably.
Everything u said is right on. It is what it is. For someone like me who plays many hrs a day nearly everyday a week. I make use of raid, mythic and will still be farming here every min after I am done with pounds of weekly quests and torg farming requirements.
I always feel bad for those who only play 3yrs a day 2 times a week and envy my gear, chants, sockets and everything. At the same evil, people like me wouldn't put the time in without the benny. Every evil is needed, every luxury mostly accepted.
Sounds like a REALLY good place for players who don't like the "Big Three." I think my wife will love it!
Not sure I agree that the currency should drop at a higher amount, though. Sure, people will yell (it's the internet in 2021!) but so what? The loudest voices will be those for whom this is NOT intended (raiders, dungeoneers, & PvPers). I have no trouble with almost heroic raid gear for outdoor content. But the appropriate trade-off for that seems like it SHOULD be a VERY long grind.

I feel like 9.2 should have came out 2 months ago. I didnt play wod, but this is the biggest content drought i ever expirienced. (And i did play wotlk…)
