I generally agree. I think Cata really isn't classic. Wasn't the whole point of Cata was to bring WoW into the modern era of MMOs. So I just kind of feel calling it classic just doesn't feel right. I still wish they would have some kind of way to keep your character at WoTLK and if you want to move to Cata you can. I know some probably don't want a "new version of WoW" but I think it would have been better. I still think progression servers would be good. Play in classic. Then BC then WoTLK and so on. Or build something in Retail that is basically a better version of Time-walking then they currently have. Where you phase in whatever era of WoW you want to play.
I think they should keep the 1-60 vanilla servers open for those who want a no changes experience. Aside from that maybe do a 1-80 server season where you progress through the 1-60 content then do BC then Wrath with some changes. I'd also like to see Cata get something done to it, but frankly I don't know what it'd be, I suppose they could add Cata to my idea of a season for all the content. Lastly I'd like to see good seasons, I did not like the first two they did, or are on, but I think their capable of much better. I think they need to be honest as to what is solo friendly or just a number game for seasons. Maybe every other season give solo players worthwhile things, but honestly I'd like every season to be more balanced for a variety of different players.
yep, they're really rushing cata. shorter pre patch, shorter phases. "classic" MOP incoming in 2025. the remix on retail makes sense now lol
