  1. I'm surprised how many people don't know about the level squish. Shadowlands did a level squish, hence why the level is 32. And the character names got flagged for a name change after not being used/logged into for so long.

  2. I think it was dungeon finder that both made and destroyed the game, the community was very different back in the days when you actually had to talk to people to get into a dungeon or raid group and since you knew what a pain in the ass it was to search a new group and travel, you'd stick with the team even if it was not performing well and motivating you to take the leader/teacher role instead of just calling everyone a "noob virgin" and abandoning.

  4. Played mid Burning Crusade thru Cataclysm. Just came back about 4-6 months ago. So strange left as level 80s and came back to all level 85s.

Leveled 4 characters to 60 but lost interest with zenith moren or w/e it’s called. Now enjoying mount/pet farming from legion wod and bfa. It’s pretty cool how they made every expansion a leveling zone in parallel to each other rather than the singular timeline it used to be.

  5. if you buy shadowlands now, will i have to level up through all the expansions that came during the time i was away from the game (10+ yrs) or is there a 1x boost per account so you are right at the start of Shadowlands? i think pandaria was the last expansion i bought, but did not level through it.

  6. Hah! How interesting to see this video. I had a similar time-gap. I stopped playing in 2009 and picked it back up in 2019 because I was getting frustrated with the in-game drama of Rift and looking for something to play and Classic WoW caught my attention. Then I went to retail in early 2020 and was amazed at how much had changed. I absolutely loved the Gilneas starting zone, and Pandaria looks so pretty.

The only thing I don't like about modern-day WoW is that it doesn't seem to encourage exploration of the world; instead, players are set on a specific path and need to do quests in a specific order. I also missed the kinship of dungeon groups—it feels empty and meaningless with the dungeon queue system. Although to be fair, it sometimes takes all day to find a group in Classic Wow and travel to the dungeon and complete it. But I do feel like WoW has turned into more of a solo game, and not so much a group game, anymore.

  7. Ill nevr forget being a young teenager, i never understood the concept of making gold. I was mainly into PVP, one day someone yelled they were quitting wow in front of storm wind, i messaged asking if i could have the gold, he gave me a mount worth 200k gold, and 151k gold in one trade. One of the best days in WoW for me. Went to buy myself the chopper i always wanted and got my cousin one too

  8. watching this to live through you LMAO… i have been dealing so hard with the itch to just log on to go back to all my favorite zones that helped me through hard times, i don't even care about the new content and whatnot. it just sucks that i absolutely don't want to give money to blizzard, at least not right now, if they do some major cleaning then i might think about it :/

  9. Jeeesh It'll have been 17 years if I log again here in '22. I remember building my first PC in 2005 (in fact the 1st computer I'd ever had) just for this game lmao. I was in the USAF in Japan then. Didn't keep me from becoming a hikikomori haha. God the memories. Thanks for sharing your return.
