I take a good long look at all the upcoming class sets in WoW Shadowlands 9.2 and give my very personal, very subjective opinion. This was taken off stream so it’s a bit scuffed!

  1. Played Warlocks since 2008. Sorry, Warlock Tier set? Its crap. I saw the Warlock set first and thought, wtf a priest? That is the most generic looking cloth set. Looks like some from MoP expansion questing gear, non coloured. Im focused on playing TBC classic. have my T4 set and grabbing parts of T5 right now, while licking my lips for T6. Now those are warlock sets!

  2. Winners: DH (my main, so I'm happy…it's a DH set that actually screams DH), shaman, rogue, monk
Losers: DK (looks like a sad panda), warlock (looks too much like a priest set…needs horns or soul shards and shit), hunter (yet another bad hunter set? no wai!!!)
The rest range from good to pretty okay. Pally looks like a high-res Judgment, which isn't a bad thing

  3. Think the "fire" is supposed to represent the heat from the sun, since priest often use "light" spells, what more power than light directly from the cosmos? (just something that came to mind)

  4. People have posted some very bad takes regarding these tier sets and it's reminded me of how awful it is to talk about the quality of the game with the community. Rather than looking at the tier sets individually, people recognize a common theme and mistake it for accidental instead of intended uniformity. Like, there are two sides to it. The individual sets and the collective aesthetic. People conflate the two to the extent that they end up saying objectively very stupid things, like that they can't tell the sets apart, which you either have to be blind or very easily confused to say sincerely.

It's not sincere of course, it's just parroting certain content creators who can't articulate their way out of a paper bag if their lifes depended on it. The kind who would say anything to rile up engagement. So what you end up with is creating a feedback loop of people repeating and therefore validating those nonsense takes so that those contemt creators keep finding new nonsense to spout that can be easily parroted without any thought to the accuracy of what is being said. It's simply not enough to dislike the sets or their general aesthetic. You have to be right to feel that way, reality be damned.

May god have mercy on the community council, you know it's going to have at least a few very loud individuals just reposting that same nonsense rather than coming up with actual criticism.

In short, shit on these tier sets all you feel if you feel so inclined, but at least come up with actual criticism. Don't just repeat some hollow bullshit designed to get clicks. That helps nobody but the outrage merchants.

  5. IMO the warrior is just straight up ugly and nasty, the tints are nasty and not cool, it dosent catch the vibe of being a warrior with two, twohanded swords or axes or just the vibe of being a warrior, looks like a robot guardsman in some wierd fantasy. and as a warrior main you are NEVER gonna se me wearing this ever

  6. DK's armor is pieced together from a battle field it seems. Warlock…..its not a warlock….looks like a battle priest. As a Demon hunter main…..I am transmoging out of this set. There is no way. Monk looks like a horned bettle….Not sure what they are going for here. Shammy, the head piece is awesome. The Pally looks more like a Warlock look then a light user. The folded hood in the back is nice for the hood for it. Warrior is a bull in a chiana shop. But the shoes I agree….just kinda fell off the thought process.

  7. The rogue set is the clear winner (no contest). I love all of the white and gold with glowing Light effects; and the dark version looks like an ethereal. I, too, am very disappointed with the paladin chest, helm, and color scheme. It needs more white, less gold, the gold that is there needs to be more lustrous (looks dull), and they need to be more creative with the glow effects (the dark set is tight though).

  8. Blizzard: we are taking away generic armor sets and giving everyone a class feel this tier….unfortunately the class is Priest, embrace the light, embrace it damn it

so if it isnt obvious by the tier…if we get a chill expansion next, Light vs Void is basically right around the corner and we are starting on the Light side…also as a Pally main i dont mind a little time with some priest appearances =)

those poor warlocks and deathknights though, being soul burned by your own armor is rough =/

  9. For me the sets are just Meh, the only one I liked was the Pally one. Red/Black colors always look badass imo! Most have certain pieces that are good but put together the sets kinda suck to me.
