Im back. Side note – installed Resolve and edited this video with it. Why is there no pinch to zoom on MacOS? Besides that – its SMOOTH, and its just as fast as RTX 3070. Future videos to test.
But for THIS VIDEO – we are covering the NATIVE GAMES for MacOS that people have been requesting. We cover World of Warcraft, Batman Arkham City and War Thunder — ALL with OBS running to record at 8000KB/S
This M1 Max might be perfect for streaming?

what temps are you getting with wow?
Eve Online has a native version for Apple silicon. It would be cool to see how that runs. 🙂
What happens if you go with recommended settings on World of Warcraft? Curious as the regular M1 sets the graphics bar at 2.
Looks like GPU power efficiency is amazing. But the performance is just meh.
Good
Would love to know what was the temperature while running WoW.
I'm very disappointed that Batman doesn't have ZAPPP!!! or POW!!! when you punch people like the old TV series.
I am currently running wow on my MBP16 connected to an eGPU ( AMD Radeon 580 I know it sucks) and plugged to a 27 inches 4K display and I’m at 35-40 FPS, do you think M1 Pro with 16 core GPU is enough or M1 Max will do better ? I don’t necessarily want big numbers on term of FPS just keep playing wow smoothly on my 4K screen.
Thx for your answer
In Raids you have to set different settings when 20 people burst your cpu and gpu down with aoe effects 😉
it's useless to put more than 100% resolution scale
Please don’t use AA in such high resolution
Well not showing this machine in wow in a main city or questing around other people or raiding is a bit soft. That 60fps is gone on raids of well not so good then.
if bliz did wow can they do overwatch ?? lol those two are my to go games ..any overwatch play?
silicon not silicone. Silicon is what CPUs are manufactured out of. Silicone is what bathtubs are sealed with.
How about dota 2? Is it playable?
I tried WoW on my new 14inch m1max.. fans kicking instantly on and the Mac gets very hot… settings on 7
Did you try ray tracing?
This taken from Blizzards forum regarding resolution scale: "If you set above 100% the game will render internally above your screen resolution and downscale the final image for display which decreases FPS."
From a personal view, does the notch bother you with gaming? I’m in a dilemma between a 14 inch max using an external monitor or a 16 inch and using the Retina display, concern is whether the notch will make the 16 inch unbearable.
Молодец!
Hey. What kind of fan noise are you hearing? Is it silent or close to silent or is it ramping up on the 32 core m1?
Also, how are you finding battery life?
Thanks.
So the new M1 Ultra will be perfect then. It’s two of these chips combined. But damn, 4000 plus tax for a computer is kinda yikes. For around half that or maybe a bit more I could get a 3070 or 3080 GPU PC…
Next time use Apple VT H.264 Hardware Encoder in OBS to save CPU
I play WoW on my 16” MacBook Pro, same specs as yours except mine has a 2 TB SSD and 64 GB of RAM, everything is on ultra settings.
The game plays very well, the fans do kick up, but they don’t even max out and the computer doesn’t get unbearably hot.
I think the best thing to do would be to test this in a 20 man raid setting or a huge battleground like Alterac Valley.
Hmm not sure if this laptop is worth the $3k price premium.
Тундра идет, значит можно брать)
Hi! I am considering getting either mac studio or macbook with m1 max, pretty much the only game i play is war thunder, could u please test it in tanks battles?
Thanks in advance!
So the higher the FPS, the smother it will run?
