  1. What are you guys even talking about? This references a legal merger document wherein Microsoft is defending Activision Blizzard, vaguely stating that their games are not unique in such a way as to harm consumers downstream from using or incentivizing rival distribution channels that also just want to develop/publish competitive products, such as Sony trying to also market Call of Duty for their non-Xbox console. This states that the merge is not a potential for monopolizing the market and harming consumers by raising prices for example, which allows the merge to be successful for both the companies and the consumers. They are not blatantly diminishing any part of Activision Blizzard's products here. Basically they are just saying that they will be fair to competition, and use their merger, Activision Blizzard, as a harmless example, stating that their games, now being merged into Microsoft, will not take anything away from their rivals or consumers, because Activision Blizzard's games aren't a "must have," as in, although vaguely stated, perhaps necessary for the video game industry, or something like that, to function.

  2. I played Wow for over 10 years, and if I could buy WoW right now just to put an end to the corpse milking and desecration blizzard have been doing to WoW for years I would. So I don't think it's an unfair statement for Microsoft to make even if they are buying it.

  3. Another way to look at the document positively, is to consider it as a promise, and for example, you could conclude that although the Xbox game pass might allow, going forward, the distribution, of 2 competing titles, by 2 competing publishers, such as Activision's Call of Duty, and EA's Battlefield; Microsoft is basically promising to give both titles a fair marketing chance on their platform, so as to neither harm the games' consumers, nor incentivize a foreclosure of EA, even though Microsoft has more market power over the Call of Duty title, they are saying the market will still be fair, as Call of Duty is not unique enough in the genre or will not be made purposely to foreclose EA's Battlefield game, even though the games will potentially be competing within the same platform.

  4. You can buy a manga and call it sht. 70b is a small portion of microsoft money its just basically surplus since 2000's . They can call anything they bought sht. But for wow. . . S1 wow was the best wow . Anything after that .. idk.

  5. Junk? eh… Un-original? HELL FRIKKEN YES. Every expan since BC has followed the same gated-content formula. And the quality of the past few expansions has indeed been rather sub-par in comparison other Studios' titles and their releases. Micro$soft is indeed buying a bland-bag of…….hot garbage that is nuthing-up over it's competition.

  6. so they mean its not mechanically or technologically original enough to warrent patents on anything. They are not speaking on the games story line or ability to make money.

  7. You're sarcastic about the fact that trash games can be popular enough to earn billions. But look at Minecraft, every single match three game, the assassin's creed games, every rehash of FIFA, NBA, NFL, nascar and formula one. Every shitty gacha game, and diablo immortal. Or moving away from games every marvel DC cinematic universe film or b movie horror shlock. That fact that they do still earn billions despite being shitty should ring alarm bells.

  8. I have to say I agree with Microsoft on this. Activision / Blizzard might have been, in the past, incredible developers. But as of recent, what original game or content they've created? CoD is a copy paste, year after year… WoW is in such a state that it's not even necessary to beat it anymore. Diablo Immortal is a p2w cash grab mess. Don't take me wrong, though, of course the companies still do a lot of money, but if you are talking about "original" here, there's NOTHING.

  9. ehh wow isn't unoriginal, it just feels like that because the entire industry copied them. People wouldn't be saying that if the story was good tbh. I just wish they spent more time on content than on systems. The base mechanics were fine in vanilla, which is why they're going back to talent trees. Still, they added too many classes to balance.

  10. World of Warcraft is in the midst of suffering. Infected by SJW Epstein Democrats. Cancel Culture software developers politically active on Twitter every night hating men. Community Managers on Twitter hating all of humanity so bad, she mates with deer. They tell you who you will vote for, in game, or you can't join the group. While they play the game, they say they hate Gamers, and America, and certain races. Just mental ill employees pushing Woke = Broke with facism. Your local news will often cover stories of Parental Warnings because the CEO is going after kids, employees, and they are posting images on Discord, and a lady killed herself. The Fed's and even California is involved! No one wants this. And if you do, your name us in a file some place because you are some kind of illegal creep, or creepy dude, or creeper, or Karen. Sell the Intellectual property to Microsoft already, and close the physical plant. Arrest them on the way out before they end up at Disney, sniffing your kids!!

  11. I think they confused unoriginal with unmotivated, uninspiring, or non-innovated. I don't care for the game much because it looks stale and outdated. And until recently you needed a heavy subscription to play it. But ya… I can see what they mean.

  12. Well they are not wrong.
And seeing how Microsoft bought Bethesda and kicked Todd's balls so hard, making them start to fix F76 properly… Yeah they can do that more often.

If they do the same with Blizzard.. i might actually renew my sub for WoW.

  13. As a current and long time wow player I can agree. I'm not sure what wow does to make people like me keep coming back for them just to take ideas from other games and do them either late or not as well but they do keep us coming back… maybe some new management can do something good for the world….. of warcraft

  14. It's good if they ban those gatcha games and, hopefully loot box. It's clearly a casino disguised as a game. Too many kids are trapped with this gatcha addiction, especially those in the Roblox community.

  15. Can't really confirm cause and effect with acquisitions, but for the most part, when an acquisition happens, it tends to NOT go in favor of the players.

It feels as if successful IPs are bought to milk what's left of it, while investing as little as possible into the game. Even with that being said, I am very curious to see what happens, if anything, to WoW when/if that sale goes through. I think the game has been abysmal for the better part of 4 years now and I stopped playing nearly 2 years ago, it can only get better for me I suppose, otherwise it may continue to RIP.

  17. So…. so far Microsoft has dismissed COD and called WoW unoriginal junk, just months after buying the rights to them…? I feel bad for the fans of these games, especially since their goliath games with massive audiences.

  18. They dont like the company, From my understanding with all the lawsuits and scandals. it wasnt long before Activision was going to go under. As much as we all may not want to admit it but a loss like activision would send a massive ripple through the industry. Microsoft seen that and acted. Yeah they got plunty to gain from it but honestly Activision needs turned around and At this point I feel like only Phil can do it.

  19. Na one of the companies with a ton of games survive decades in success doesn't make influential games. Activision still sells tons of cod games and even remakes. Blizzard 2 extremely popular RTS games, fricken Diablo, one of the top dungeon crawlers of it's time, and still way up there, and also publisher of WoW which carried many game of the year awards and some top seller spots in some xpacks, still going strong today as the second highest subscribed MMOs. Nah neither part of the companies have that good of competition
