No one has to play plunderstorm come on people grow up, you don't need everything in a game and if there's something you really cant live without in plunderstorm or something else then suck it up and go and get it without moaning and bitching, not everything in this huge game is for you, not everything has to be something you like ! jeez the vocal part of this community is like a bunch of 12 year olds sometimes. Stop demanding YOU get EVERYTHING !
So THIS is what they are working on instead of silly things like story and good game design…
"You might not be subscribed to wow right now" — Oh crap he knows who I am
I've played since Vanilla, on and off sometimes but I never missed and expansion. I've taken 6+ month breaks alot but always came back. The game isn't always what I want but when I needed a good distraction with some fun it was there. I see so many content creators crying over stupid shit. They can't please us all and tbh people are getting more entitled when it doesn't go as planned.
Got carpet yesterday so rate was boosted for me at least :p
Got my carpet on the 9th try on Friday. The only sub 70 character. This was my 49th try over all (10 chars a day). Glad to get it, but not a big deal. It's just a carpet I most likely will never use. I have a tailor that has 3 or 4 other carpets and have never used them once crafting. Only thing I want out of Noblegarden is year round Bunny Ears. Wanted this for many years.
Stay awesome!
Plunderstorm was a great "I have nothing to do" "oh wait" kind of thing. Also it was 40$ worth of transmog and mounts for free. Lastly if you knew the system, it was fun.
Go ahead with the seasons cuz it'll spell Doom. Its as far from mmorpg Blizz can get so I will spend my money elsewhere
this holiday rly shows what we can exspect moving forward, harder holiday rewards put out in places with chain quests, gone are the days of just collecting holiday currancy to buy the holiday items, no NOW its hoops & over complications to keep altoholics from farming content. Why else did they add the "bonus for first kill" its not a bonuse its a nerf to every toon AFTER the first aka HARDER just to punish people that can force the drop rate,
Now we cant event trust if the drop rate isnt tamped
0:51 pvp for the pvp margority
1:24 NOT EVERYONE, those of us that get physically SICK at the thought of being forced into it. If one player can kill another IT"S PVP, no label or gimmicks are going to change it, no arguments.
i dont mind this minigames, dont mind the grind, dont mind the gameplay, what i despise is the FOMO factor
it's too bad that people who play WoW were not their target audience and started fixing issues complained about for literal years.
Plunderstorm has potential but my big worry is it’s just a battle pass test run for wow. My guess is there’ll be a premium track in the next one and it’ll be far less forgiving than the current one. Waaaay more grindy.
I got my noble garden flying carpet yesterday Soul
I still think as a druid player we should have had a duck flight form in not in the trading post at least a reward from the daily boss.
I don't care if they want to experiment or create a new game based on WoW assets. But, a WoW EVENT should be IN WoW where we can use our regular characters and do other things in WoW without having to log in/out of the game constantly. Playing Plunderstorm is no different than playing something like Hearthstone which uses WoW characters and themes but is not in the game.
I've always found holidays in WoW odd. We should be able to complete all quests and get the new/current items before the event ends if we're participating regularly throughout the event. If they want players to engage with the event every year then they need to add new quests and items each year instead of using low drop items to get players to participate because they're farming an item year after year.
In order to combat FOMO, blizzard should let you decide to do whatever you want, and then decide what reward your quest gives you. If it's fun for me to spam gen chat, then blizzard shouldn't force me to ever leave the capital to get mythic raid gear.

It would be better to help old expansions being playable and fun for new players but also maxed out toon. Like redoing an old campaign or events or wq for current ilvl reward, targetting a specific older expansion during that time. LIke a TW for world content that mixes old and new players, leveling and maxed out toons. Or invasions inside that part of Azeroth tying into the current theme eg having an elemental storm in Pandaria, or some dragon quests elsewhere having a 70s version. It could reward an account currency running through all such events with vendors offering items even leveling alts could use, or themed transmorg. The point being to make it a part of retail inside retail, and long term benefit of fixing the game, keeping former content relevant. Follower dungeons on all expansions and a follower mini raid version even. A temporary game is diverting efforts on very temporary "mobile" game styles. It will not bring new players back to a long winded MMO and help existing players move to other games that continue a style they learned to like. Eg it wont bring Fortnite players to WoW but WoWers to play Fortnite when Plunder disappears.
Plunderstrom is fun. Once you get use to it. Blizz should make it free to play tho.
My take away from this whole plunderstorm thing is odd. I dont understand why people who dont enjoy PvP ground it out. I get that there is XMog, but there is XMog available for Arena etc as well, and I doubt the collectors are also 2.4k rated.
New raids release semi-regularly, with mythic gear often looking the coolest. Is that also unreasonable? Should everything in the game be accessible simply via a grind, or should some skill be required?
For me, thats where plunderstorm fucked up. The XMogs should have been gated behind wins. Its a BR, the aim is to be last standing. The idea that someone with a 90%WR and someone who threw themselves into the storm 600x get the same rewards feels dumb.
But, that said, PvP games can be a lot more fun with fodder, so maybe Blizz knew exactly what there were doing 😂
to me plunderstorm and noblegarden are the same thing, limited time gated opportunities to get a reward. And if you want the item in question you got to grind an activity you might have zero interest in. I skipped both because of that and have played very little wow lately. I dont regret it but the phisophy doesn't feel like a great one.
maybe the solution for things like plunderstorm is to have their be a quest that you complete and get the in game rewards (make them much easier) while the grind track is just for people who actually want to play plunderstorm
If they had not decided to make blunderstorm a limited time event and instead allow people to come in and collect their stuff at their leisure at any time in the future, it wouldn't have been hated as much. Because this is nakedly just trying to adopt the seasonal pass fomo garbage of other games that use even more predatory monetization.
Blizzard should focus purely on 1 main WoW edition and forget abouit all the others "live versions" otherwise they will destroy retail even more than they are doing right now.
I just want wow to stop feeling like a bad Disney movie.
I came 2nd during my second Plunderstorm. Okay I hid and was eventually killed by the storm.
I'd love to see player housing. Drop everything thing else and get it done. The older the account, the bigger it is. I don't care of it's zoned off from the world. As long as it looks good and you have a house and some land. It would be killer and people would love it
How about instead of plunderstorm make some new battlegrounds? Shits got very stale
Plunderstorm really needs a grace period or something just long enough to get a crack at the captain's orders, or a point based ranking system that will have people up against other players of a similar skill level with increased plunder rewards at higher tiers. Base it on plunder earned and/or player kills per match. I got to level 16 and had to put it down for the sake of my mental health. I was walking away from every session feeling bullied. The way it is, casual or non pvpers are thrown in with the pros and after they boosted the amount of plunder rewarded for a pvp kill, it's been ridiculous. It got to the point where I was skirting the storm and running into it when people came after me. I died, but with the knowledge that they didn't profit from it without sacrificing themselves. I really like pirate themed stuff, so it was 100% FOMO keeping me slogging on, but finally decided it wasn't worth the embitterment it was causing when people started following me down on their bird at the very beginning. It even started souring my feelings toward the regular game. I'm thinking about going back for the next 4 levels to 20 for the smaller mount, but pretty sure 40's not in the stars for me. Hopefully there'll be an xmog set like it in the trading post at some point.
Im 100% convinced WoW players are just bad at every other game except wow
Why u think ppl hate plunderstorm? cuz they suck and crying that a BR has pvp
Housing would be nice
Do the questline on 6 characters and you get all 6 color of ducks.
I will continue to play WoW but also continue to not play "Battle Royal" games.
I am not a pvp person I didn’t think I would do plunderstorm or enjoy it at all but I decided I wanted the Polly Roger mount so I went to check it out. It took me about two hours of going in to figure out how it worked and then I found myself having a great time I made a goal of trying to collect as much plunder as I possibly could before someone finding me and killing me even making it to the second last player alive a few times until I finished the entire 40 level grind in about 24 hours total of play time in the plunderstorm Got everything I wanted and am now running around in retail as a Bunny pirate during nobelgarden. Games are suppose to be fun for you and if you don’t like it then don’t play it, quit sitting around ruining everyone else’s good time and I hope they do bring out more versions of plunderstorm in the future.
Just to share a data point – I started playing WoW during the original beta, and played right thru until northrend, when I quit for a year and a half due to guild/raid drama (which is why I no longer raid). I came back because I was dreaming of flying – no, really. I suspect there's a large pool of ex-players who might be tempted back if whatever it was that drove them away ceased to be a factor. I gotta be honest – I don't see a lack of accessible lightweight PvP being a thing that drove people away, so I don't personally see plunderstorm as a return-to-WoW driver, but that's just my opinion. Having said that, doing something different every quarter or so… who knows? maybe they strike gold. Certainly letting the game stagnate isn't going to bring people back…
i dont get the player housing need and constant talk about it.. We seen what it did to WoD with garrisons..
Nice shirt Soul.
Seasons = FOMO
Also, Plunderstorm was a joke. PvP based event.
