This idea of "oh, i gotta keep up with the Jones " ends up being exhausting. I spend so much time burning myself out i dont have time to just have fun anymore.
Hey, youre not sweaty enough to raid with us because you didnt soend tons of gold on flasks and maxing out engineering and yourr not a dwarf priest and were gonna raid 8 hours a day for five days a week so it actually feels like a job.
I cast fear ward on myself, so im not afraid of missing out.

I watched the Hc shaman from episode 1 to current over the last couple days while working. I can feel your concern about fresh and even classic wow being meaningful.
I think you will find yourself more much fulfilled by either joining an established casual guild, or committing to a guild of your own.
This way you can tackle the server at your own pace without needing to PUG everything and literally hate yourself.
In this humble lurkers opinion, invest in yourself and make a guild on fresh. Don’t feel stuck to a single character if it doesn’t feel right, and just think about how you’re building towards TBC.
The 40% xp boost you talk about,, is gonna destroy the journey, then your no better than the retail devs, that thinks sod is classic,, we all know its not classic,,, its retail in a classic shell. Disgrace You dont play the endgame anyway. It would be better for them to add more quests, so we dont run out of quests
TBC is about 16months away, play what you want to play. Most people have been saying they wont be raiding till after the holidays. Great play through. Also, you don't have to have a max level on Dec 12th., to do that its about 9hr of game play per day to max out on the 12th. Play at your pace, have fun, and we will all be here watching what ever you chose to do.
I will be playing in the fresh start but I don’t have the time to get to level cap in time to raid.
I accept that I likely won’t be raiding at all, and if I do it will be well behind the curve.
I’m happy with that and will enjoy the journey like last time.
Someone who wants to raid in tbc will have more time to get a character ready for this by levelling in vanilla. The rush will come to get the extra 10 levels when tbc comes out. The only problem is if they want to play a blood elf etc because then they won’t have this time.
I agree with much of what you had to say, and appreciate you voicing those concerns in a sea of "FRESH HYPE". I want what we all experienced back in 2004, I want the nostalgia trip of 2019 back, but I worry it's getting continually debased with this version (as much as I thought I wanted it too!) and then the next classic rolling reset etc etc etc. It almost makes me want to go to retail to just get away from the nostalgia chase and just play the dang game… Honestly I can't decide. I don't have the free time now that I did in 2019, let alone back in 2004.
Always wanted to go back to wow …and I'm used to self found Hardcore in PoE, restarting wouldn't be a problem.love love either way private or not!!
I remember I leveled my first character back in the days in 53 days of mad grind 6 hours a day .. .there were no thottbot…mods…macro short cuts…quests were scarce at best or not working at all….at some point I used to go to winterspring and farm lv 57/59 monsters from lv 48 ish iirc to lv 60…by the time I hit lv 60 a patch came out Fixing all of the problems with quests and I spent the next months completing them. I never had to transfert to another server and never used it to move elsewhere…infact they merged Another Server with EONAR EU and that was it…supposedly around wotlk…Idk what would I have done in case I had to transfer my account to a different server Al together .. probably just quit…but thankfully Blizzard solved it by ruining wow during WOTLk…and that was it ….nothing can ever beat the feelings , experience and fun I had in True vanilla From Beta to wotlk…. I do not understand how people keep playing it 😅
One idea to keep new characters fresh is different specs/playstyles, in addition to different classes. For example, fire mage may not be as easy to level as frost, but might be fun to try something different.
lots of us (even guilds) on stitches will stay after fresh launch also, we aint got time to throw away lvl 40+ chars just cause thats the mainstream ^^

Why not have a rambles guild then you and us can raid when we get there as a guild

It feels bad that right now, we aren’t allowed to transfer to a PvP realm from HC when we die.

I just hope to make it for the start to enjoy the fresh start for the first time and to have level 60 ready when The Burning Crusade starts 🙂

I really wish the new HC was progressing to TBC, maybe if we complain enough they will change there mind. They already gave us dual spec.
