  1. I played WoW EU religiously for 10+ years but now I just play the first and last month of each expansion. I don't like treading water waiting for time gated content designed to stretch things out so you re-subscribe. Dragonflight was excellent at launch but without all the extra content for alts like in Legion, I didn't feel the need to sub for a second month. I will just come back at the end when I can do it all in one go without artificial barriers.

  2. I played wow as my only game essentially from 2003-2014 and in that time I put in about 1500 days played, then I came back to wow about 2 months ago. The only issue I've ever had with the game is the addiction factor that I face when I play it. The game is fantastic at every level. People do get very salty at the mythic level, but its the hardest content so they are supposed to be. When you rise into the 470 range you will really start to feel powerful and the game starts to get very easy, minus mythic raiding which is where you should be looking at that level. I still love every minute of the game and I am now at like 1550 days played.

  3. I've played WoW off/on for about 14yrs with some hefty breaks in between. I've always had to come back and relearn stuff, but my experience with the game is that the lion's share of the haters come from Old School elitists who don't like what the game has become. Whether that's because of addons, content or how "dumbed down" questing has become. I enjoy it tremendously and like the state it's in. And then there's the hate that comes from popularity. The more popular something becomes, the more likely it will incur haters.

  4. WoW has always been a very polished game, with continual refinement over time. Just about every MMO that's come out after it has borrowed from it, and it's borrowed from most of them in turn. As far as toxicity goes, it is fairly rare, but horror makes for better stories than "I joined a pug and everything went well. The End." Also, being on a RP server helps with that, just nicer people in general. Weirder people, but nicer.

I'd recommend trying out the Mythic+ system, a +2 is barely any harder than a Heroic dungeon, and there's better rewards from it too. Doesn't really start reaching normal raid difficulty until early/mid teens or so. It really rewards pushing yourself skillwise, and with guild groups you can take learning the dungeons at your own pace. All you have to do to get started is put your group together, set your dungeon difficulty to Mythic, and do one of the dungeons around Dragonflight, and you should get your first +2 keys at the end.

I'd come and join you, but I'm pretty well entrenched on my server.

  5. I have been playing WoW since the original beta. it’s refreshing to see someone treating the game as though it were brand new. I have always love this game. And I wanna take a break every now and then I always come back to it. I appreciate your videos covering this and I’m learning things.

  6. The issue is it's become "cool" to hate World of Warcraft. Surprisingly, even people who play WoW daily like to announce to the world that they hate it, just for "cool points". Many people would rather play anything but WoW (even if they have never tried it) just because that's the game your supposed to hate and playing it makes you a bad gamer. Even diehard players who played through every expansion faithfully enjoy nothing more than telling everyone how EVERY expansion "sucked", and the next expansion is going to "suck", even though they'll be right there playing day in and day out.

  7. I have played WoW since 2006.

So as one of those "sweaty" players, meaning i am a top 1% Mythic Plus player, Ranked #1 player for my role and server, i think the elitism and toxicity comes from the fact that if a player queue's up as a relatively fresh player to Mythic Plus and have bought carries to boost the in game score in order to get into higher keystones, then this player brick the key because they have no actual idea of what is going on.

That's where the toxicity from the 99th percentile players comes into play.

I would never myself be frustrated or annoyed at a player who is honest about their experience.

It's obvious to most people i believe, that we all have to start somewhere.

I have no issues playing with people who got less experience with a given content.

On the contrary i find it refreshing to see that there actually are new players coming into the game every once in a while.

The state of the game right now, is a very "casual" friendly and laid back game, but with the options to go and be a very sweaty boi if you so choose to and if and when you are experienced enough to do so.

  8. This is the best WoW has very been in my opinion. So consider yourself lucky that you came in. I’m not negative but the game was good before and absolutely amazing now. The fact that we can play all the old content and just vibe in the story is incredible. You are correct that the NEW way is the BEST way!

  9. i think the player toxicity has really fallen off recently. between people trying ff14 and having to actually adhere to a code of conduct, and lots of people who were unhappy just leaving to try other games, its a much better experience to interact with people in wow today. unfortunately i think that the mythic+ dungeons are a flawed system that by their design create toxicity. it's timed so there's no time to talk things out, and if you fail you can cause someone negative progress. you're most likely to hit a bad experience there, but it can be nice if you are going in with friends.

  10. The only people that hate Retail WoW are the people who are playing Classic that want to justify their decision to not play Retail.. or they prefer a much easier, slower paced grindier MMO

  11. It's heartwarming and inspiring to witness the sheer joy World of Warcraft brings you! After a prolonged absence, I've recently made my return, and your sentiments resonate deeply with me. Exploring, collecting, and immersing myself in the world of Azeroth is an experience unlike any other. Despite occasionally feeling a pang of guilt or shame for not being a hardcore player, your perspective breathes new life into my passion for the game. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and helping me rediscover the magic of WoW through your eyes!

  12. Veteran “hardcore” wow player here. Love your zest for the game. I’m actually jealous you see it like this. Maybe someday I’ll try to step back and be more casual. I have developed my skill in arena for so many years, that’s what I enjoy and I love getting my gladiator mount every season. But man I wish you the best of luck with your channel and with your journey. Keep spreading the love, more the merrier!
