Every 5 levels add an affix.. but don’t scale damage or health past 10 in the new key scaling. Just reduce the timer by 20 seconds per key level. Eventually it’s gonna just be a race against time not fighting against one shots. It would be much better
Should of never made Mythic and Mythic +, Just Heroic was fine. When Blizz came up with mythic was just to keep us playing & grinding gear even longer, keep that sub coming in, cause God forbid if players get bored.
Mythic can stay JUST how it is imo…. just dont make it a gear treadmill.
Let M+ be for those that get gear and push themselves to the limit for bragging rights and even keep the KSM rewards in there

I will say this as a player who never interacted with Mythic+, as I quit Retail WoW at the end of MoP and simple never returned. Mythic+ is one of MANY reasons I would NEVER consider returning to Retail WoW. I don't want timed content. I don't want infinite scaling content. I don't want random affixes like this is Diablo 3 for some reason. Literally it is a thing I look at and go, no thanks I just would rather not.
The thing is, they should just try getting rid of them and see how stale it gets. They can easily work around the stale part with interesting dungeon design. They could create alternate routes and mini-bosses that no longer need to accommodate for affixes, allowing more interesting mechanics/gameplay from the dungeon itself.
Affixes are not ground-breaking, nor do they make any dungeon more interesting to play. They literally just make the dungeon less fun to do, they are a punishment to some class/spec/role every week. Simply put, they discourage engagement.

People are missing the fundamentals. People want to enjoy an rpg but are forced to compete with people who want to play a bloody arcade game. I don't understand why you don't get it.. there is a reason rpgs are evergreen, cause they have rpg choices that change the gameplay every run through. Arcades give entertainment as we see in wow today, blast shit in time, do large hits,more aoes etc
@Bellular How about if they cut every class down to 9 abilities but made every ability matter so people won't be going through having nothing to do all their abilities will matter they just have way less of them since a lot of abilities are shitter duplicates of others.
Get rid of affixes and replace them with alternating POSITIVE affixes instead. That way they're fun instead of annoying and still change up the gameplay each week.

I think for me atleast the issue of the affix is they are boring and uninteresting in part because they cant be very interesting because they all have to be able to be combined for a week and not make the week unplayable. Honestly the best solution would probably be making it that each week was either fort or Tyrannical and 1 other affix that way better affix that had more interesting effects could actually be made as they wouldnt have to worry about how affix A B C D all interact with each other. Now whether the current dungeon team can make better more interesting affix that would actually be fun is a good question considering how M+ currently is.
Also I disagree with the idea people simply want the game to be easier I think because the difficulty in M+ comes from just adding more stuff and mental load people get tired of it and then dont find it fun. What people just want is the game to feel fun and it seems for to many people the current difficulty system for M+ is not fun and the easiest way to do that is lowering that mental load which is being equated with making the game easier which doesnt have to be true the game can be plenty challenging with a better design.
I personally think we need something that makes the weeks feel a little different each week but it should be because it is exciting and not frustrating. I don't know how exactly you could do that.
I got tired of affixes, between being bounced around the halls in WCM by tornadoes and apparently most players figuring incorporeal was a tank affix, I had enough and went back to old content.
I think the whole system would benefit from a redesign. Make it like hades. You have a base mythic 0 and you turn on toggles that then add together to give your final "key level" so to speak. Then the ilvl you get is based on to total combined weight of the different toggles. Give the players the controls.
I always thought that removing all the affixes and then combining Tyr & Fort but at a scaled down version, that SLOWLY increases per key. So every dungeon is just harder and harder, mobs and bosses! But then I thought it might be boring? Doing the same thing over and over, but i guess blizz can add seasonal affixes back or kiss/curse stuff.
Affixes should go, and M+ should just be increasingly harder dungeons and not bother with the timer. Let us have dungeons again instead of time trials for toxic sweaties. I don't care if every week is the same; It will let me reach an end-point and just do something else for a bit. Let me reach a goal! I will play more if i can feasibly reach a bloody goal.
I hate repeating the same dungeons over and over and over for an entire expansion. The negative aspects make it worse to me, to the point where despite wanting the gear I simply stop doing it. If there were no affixes and just as difficulty curve it would be easier for me to hold my nose and do enough to get 2 vault slots at relevant ilvl. If there were instead a variety of positive aspects I'd hold my nose less.
Unless the top % complains about them, nothing will really change, only they define the game, the design is made for them mostly and it shows in every competitive element of the game, otherwise go do quests that's what Blizzard is saying not me, i don't like it.
If they keep negative affixes, then they should at least add positive ones, too. Like Double drops from a completion or 5k gold upon completion or other positive benefits. Just something to incentive doing M+ more. They could even add wacky affixes but they definitely need to change somehow.
imagine having positive affixes instead of negative ones, imagine not punishing your players for playing your game, imagine empowering your players to do more damage instead of screwing them in the ass
Affixes are the reason i stopped healing . When your dispell or cc hability is on Cd and the ghost appears or when you miss it cause you're focused on mass healing . I never see a dps or a tank help cause they think its healer job in low keys . As dps i help cause its easier to see the affix appears . That's why its so hard to find healers .
If blizzard wants to keeep affixes, then they need to remove trash mechanics and make sure affixes dont overlap with boss mechanics. If they dont want to do this, remove affixes

They could easily create a non affix mode or have a no affix weak or tyrannical / fortified only week or mode. Offer better rewards for more challenges.
Remove Affixes, add mechanics custom tailored to the dungeons to add challenge while being FUN. Having seasons for M+ swapping in different dungeons is a good enough solution. Hell, it can even be an excuse to switch out bosses or add new mechanics in to fights to change up how they might work if they like it.
Let the scaling work on it's own and hell, maybe with some good design with custom mechanics you can even have it scale up more then just how it does when each affix is added. BAM Maybe +12 adds a boss mechanic having an extra aoe on the ground to avoid, or +15 4 Adds suddenly change to 5 in a boss fight. Each weak maybe even certain mob packs change or the route through is different.
I guess im the minority who likes affixes and nearly failing or even failing cause it was a good challenge anf affixes can add some of that flavor. But the affixes could be better. Some risk/reward affixes.
When an affix makes you not play for a week cuz its so terrible then maybe….. and what if there is not just 1 week like that ? Some just make your life terrible , that doesnt count as a "'kick " to the dungeon . It just sucks . And the higher you go stuff like sang and bolst become insanely broken . Oh and afflic and inco ? Who thought making and already picky community even more selective with their comps by adding affixes that can only be handled by a few classes is a good idea ?

Comedy gold statement and I totally relate to it. Won’t say as a healer I will pull groups of mobs intentionally to the tank just to give me something to do. Will we do big dam or will we die, the world may never know lol
I don't mind affixes, they spice it up a bit. I would prefer it though if they reduced a little bit the difficulty up to +20, or +10 in S4, and made the 3rd affix bring a buff, for those who want to push keys, not for gear, but for the sake of competing.

i quit retail because of mythic+ no one would invite to group so i thought the game was wasting my time.
Blizzard will never care about our opinion until it impacts their profits.
Blizzard only ever give the "illusion" they care and too many fall for their PR nonsense.
They've proven it time and again by the fact they've said "we've learned from our mistakes " so many times and never have.

Here is an idea. Have a negative at the start that players can turn into a positive when they kill one or two mini bosses in the dungeon.

All current affixes could be redesigned to give bonuses when completing the affix minigame but Blizzard is too lazy and don’t really care.
