SMASH OR NAH?? Week 4 of the patch 11.1 PTR from World of Warcraft: The War Within, is out, and in this update Arms Warriors get an animation update for Warbreaker and Colossus Smash. Rest of this update was mostly tuning and mythic+ changes, so for the documented visual changes for this week, Arms Warriors got it all.

  1. I can only see this being good for PvP since its a visual queue for when the warrior is bursting. As for the animation itself, I don't think it really fits and is not that cool looking.

  2. I honestly like it. I want warrior to have more effects for their skills. I get the whole idea behind the warrior not having sparkling spells and stuff like that, like enhancement shaman, but arms warrior skills feel so boring to press most of the time. I wish they would add similar changes and make glyphs for those that want to keep the old versions. That being said, wish we still had Condemn. I like it way more than the current Execute.

At this point every class and spec is getting an undocumented visual updates except for paladins….. ffs judgement looks the same ever since the massacre that was legion overhauls and is in dire need of an update preferably the same treatment as shaman lightning bolt ( reverted to its old animation + modernized)

  4. Um, the idea to make focus on weapon mastery is ok, but the animation is awful. Also the downgrade to whirlwind animation is a very bad decision. It supposed to be like ground cracks all-over the place, not some kind of frost weapon

  5. Imo it's worse especially looking at old warbreaker. The weapons going down look kinda goofy and the whirwind animation doesn't really match something that's supposed to break the armor. Would rather see them to double down on the earth shatter effect making it look more explosive.

  6. The new animation looks dubious. I can't understand why there are axes at the end that aren't even aimed at the target. The animation itself doesn't say that they're from WoW, but from some other game (I won't point a finger at Korean games).

    Colossus Smash is what you're expecting from it, a powerful blow that will break the target's armor. Making an animation for it is a piece of cake, since the conditions are simple.

    But with Warbreaker, it seems more difficult to me. The name itself, the description of the skill, and the fact that this skill takes its roots from Colossus Smash. As a result, you're expecting a combination of 3 conditions, which in my opinion is difficult to implement and you'll have to make some compromises. But I would like the animators to try.

  7. As a warrior I want the spells to come from my character to show how strong they are. Not glowy weapons from the sky, that's Paladin's thing since their strength comes from a higher power. Warbreaker was one of my favorites to press cause it made me feel like a titan. Seems like a good glyph if someone wants something more elegant like the NE in the video.

  8. As Main arma Warriors since cataclysm i fell it like a downgrade. Colosjs smash feels more like a aoe with that animation and warbreaker switch that Big stomp that fells like a Big hit to a wrirlwind i and more keep it Classic less is more

  9. It’s Colossus smash. I would imagine a big hammer, slamming onto the person not three axis coming out simultaneously from three other places. In my opinion it looks cartooning alongside many other visual affect changes.
