  1. Sylvanas was (or well, still is) a Highelf, so more related to the Bloodelves who are ALSO highelves, they just called themselves differently later in memory of all those who lost their lives.

Arthas per se made her a Banshee, though a Banshee is a ghostly being and the body Sylvanas possesses as this Banshee is her old Highelf body. So per se she still IS an (undead) Highelf.

  2. The sword of Arthas, called Frostmourne, can absorb the souls of its victims, what empowers Arthas, it's the main source of his power beside the Helmet of Domination with which he can control the undead.

In case of Sylvanas he didn't just absorb her soul, but distorted and then let it 'free' again as the Banshee she know is. For a while he was able to control her and let her slaughter he own people, but she later broke free and also freed many other undead (later also partly raising dead into undead), creating the Forsaken.

Later it is revealed that Arthas didn't just destroy a part of Sylvanas soul to distort her, but this cut out wound was still absorbedn by Frostmourne and later found its way into the hands of Zovaal, one of the gods of the cosmic force death.

After Zoaal revealed to Sylvanas, that he wouldn't change the system to benefit mortals, but just to be the ruler over everything, she instantly turned against him, though of course (especially with most of her power at this point coming from him…), couldn't stop him.

Zovaal – overall not really caring about mortals at all – was merely dissapointed about her decision to stay with mortals instead of remaing at his side – and as payment fo her help to restore his foul being, he gave her the missing part of her soul back. This sad: the missing part was frozen in time since her death by Frostmourne, so a LITTLE BIT shocked about what she had become and done (Banshee Sylvanas, robbed of most of her empathy and emotions, was pretty brutal in her methods, even though her goals were rarely evil and for her goal to change a cosmic foce – what is a pretty insane goal, cosmic forces are 10000 level above you – she had caused a lot of death) and first was absolutely unwilling to accept that.

A Paladin (already dead, killed by Arthas, who had been his student, and was also distorted by Frostmourne, differently though, since Arthas just killed ans absorbend his former teacher, but the Light (also a cosmic force) had saved him, but Frostmourne still manage to rip a part out of his soul during that), now some kind of angel in the afterlife, talked to this soul fragment and explained everything to her, that this 'monster' was indeed her – and that she's the only one able to help them to stop Zovaal, since she knew about his plans, at least the "change the system' part and pretty much tells her "Range General Highelf" self, that she has to make that sacrifice to accept who she is now (becoming one again) or condemn them all. Of course the fragment, while deeply disturbed and unwilling to accept all this, could let othes pay that price and accept this sacrifice.

  3. well, if you want loredump about Jaina…
she is quite tragic character as well
…First her and Arthas wese supposed to married (at least were dating)
She watched him cull the entire city population to prevent them to turn undead, she watched him lost his mind to revenge, she watched him to become Lich king
then she was forced to fight Burning Legion alongside Thrall and Orks, made frined with Thrall, and then her Father found her on Kalimdor and Attacked Orks because he absolutely hated them…. and she had to decide if she join him or his friend ork (she choose Thrall and her Father died)
Then when Thrall Pussied out and left Garrosh in charge of Horde, he Nuked her own city of Theramore which made her mad antiork and antihorde racist for a long time
Eventually when she became trusting Horde again, Sylvanas got in charge, led all out war against alliance. Jaina returned to her own country where she was declared traitor for death of her fatner and sentenced to death. Meanwhile Sylvanas found corpse of her brother desecrated it and raised him as an undead, with intention to make him a living posion bomb
after that she was tortured for a while by the Nipple Man in Land of the dead
…so yeah she gone trough some nasty shit

  4. To be fair, those trees are often 'blessed' by the Titans = the cosmic force Order, so per se they are corrupted.

Azeroth's people are pretty much brainwashed by Titan propaganda, that they are the good guys.

That tree especially was more created by the Night Elves to get their immortality back… so absolutely selfless.

  5. For Azshara, she is not that good no ^^. She betrayed all the other races for Sargeras and his Burning Legion, they would cleanse all the impure and lower races while Azshara and her Highborn would be "safe" (That's what she meant by "that was not the deal i made"). But the other races stood against the Burning Legion at the well of eternity, and at the end the well was destabilized and collapsed, that was the Great Sundering (The greeny thingy you saw on the horizon in the start of the Dragonflight cinematic). So Great Sundering = Big wave and big rise of the sea level etc etc. So yeah her people died because of her because she helped summon all the forces of the burning legion etc etc ^^

In summary she did not save her people she first betrayed them in a way and then cursed them to become naga 😡
