  1. Am I watching this video on my playthrough or is it out of the game? What I'm trying to say… I'm still on bastion and haven't reached this cinematic yet… can I watch it without spoiling me the story?

  2. First time when it's about Sylvanas i'm 100% with you 😉 I see it the same way. She has good intentions but is used by the jailor. One look at the maw shows he deons't repect the same values as Sylvanas. And she will see this at one point. Is this a redemption arc? No! For teldrassil redemption is not possible. But she will help to bring down the jailor and will find her "freedem" that she is looking for. There she will be "parked" like Illidan, Sargeras and others for further use.

  3. We can’t even choose who we serve. She didn’t choose to serve Silvermoon, didn’t choose to serve the Lich King, didn’t choose to serve the Horde and she didn’t choose to serve the Jailor. She had no choice, no one has any choice, it’s out of their control.

  4. Sylvanas does not do anything evil, tell that to all the dead elves and Gilneans. I completely disagree with any notion of morally gray or anything like that or the notion that she did nothing wrong. If she wanted to, she could have chosen to do good things. She is an elf so she has longer life experience than most humans can have so she does not have any excuse for her actions. Whether she is feeling or not, she knows just by her experience what is morally good and what is morally wrong. But due to her elvish arrogance she also thinks that she knows what's best for the universe, better than the ones who created it in the first place. To put it simply, she didn't want to change herself but instead decided to tear it all apart because of her egoistic view and fear. She does not see that she also has a choice and as an immortal undead, many many years to redeem or condemn herself.

  5. I HATE Sylvanas' new armor set. It's so ugly and non threatening. she looks like some hunter noob in green gear rather than an epic character with legendary items (unlike Anduin as reference. his armor looks amazing)

  6. «We can’t even choose who we _are_»
I’m starting to think that from the moment one is born, our fate is already decided. Sylvanas’ fate was decided, she was forced to become a banshee, to endure physical and emotional pain from watching herself and her people die. Same goes for every other character in WoW too.
«From our first breath to our last, every decision is made for us.» she literally said it right there.
Neither life or death is something that is in our control. Now who are the ones who control the fates of the characters?

  7. in life, only material things are important to us, do you remember her words after the fight with Saurfang "tiny plate, honor"? or "hope"? the most important thing is our soul and what will happen to it after life, because everything passes and everything ends, hope will not help in anything here, I think Jailer needs us and Sylvanas, and she needs him. We need to release him, then he can free Azeroth (because he loves her) and then we (as players) regain our free will. When Azeroth was imprisoned, our free will was taken from us.
Love wins. But they (Baine, Thral, Anduin, Tyrande, Genn etc) talk only about suffering, honor, justice, revenge or who is right and who is not.

  8. Now I'm picturing Sylvanas sacrificing herself at the end of this expansion (Speculation fully), and telling Anduin "Whether you knew it or not Little Lion… Anduin. You were a good friend."
I wouldn't mind a "redemption" arc for her through that. Something Garrosh never got or wanted.

  9. I think it's "serve", since she's talking about no choice in life and no choice after life either. And you can't chose the covenant after death, you're put in place by the arbiter. I believe the reason why she stops herself from saying the word, is because "eyes are everywhere" in the maw. The jailer is listening and watching her.
And if I remember correctly, she was put in the maw before when she killed herself right? So that's the reason why she's serving the jailer in the first place… she never had a different choice.

Okay I just realized something when I watched it again. In the end she says "join us willingly or be made to serve". I don't think she's saying that she and the jailer will make him serve, but that the afterlife how it currently is will turn him into a servant. And that's also the general gist that I have about the covenants so far. Every story quest chain so far seems to ultimately tell the story about becoming a servant of the covenant you're questing in. Some quest being a very "strange" and "dark" contrast to the picture the covenant is painting about themselves.

  10. I think too she loved Varion. Nathanos was her friend or best friend in life, but in death he was her puppet, her most loyal and powerful servent. The way she speak with him show it. When you love something or someone you want to protect it and to spend more of your time with it. Nathanos was more competent then most of her rangers and he was best options of her in way to kill Arthas. After his death, Sylvanas killed herself insted of going to Nathanos ( when valkir telled her " your people will perish !" her response was " let them perish, i finish with them !"). With Varion was different. She suffered at Varion death and tryed to save him and he's heart was break when he saw Sylvanas sound the retreat. After that she have care of Anduin. In Battle of Azeroth she could easely killed Anduin, but instead she didn't touch even a single thread of hear of his and now in Torgast Jaina, Thral and Bain are tortured by Mowswarm, Jailer etc. but only Sylvanas 'takes care' of Anduin. She prefer to come to her side willingly.

  11. I also think that she wanted to say "love". It just fits.
And I do not think that she was talking about Nathanos, because Nathanos doesn't have a personality, he's just imitating her and throws himself at her.
Looking at how Blizzard wrote Varian's story (a Gary Stu and black hole for any story potencial or personality of other characters), I wouldn't even be surprised if Sylvanas realized that she had developed feelings for the late God-King of the Alliance. >_>

  12. How can the Shadowlands a realm of infinate worlds be centered so HEAVILY on just thise 5 realms thats on the map? Seems very VERY finite. So instantainously we're dealing with world shattering prospects.

  13. You hear it in her voice. We can't even choose who we… her voice faltered and she immediately got a facial expression of sorrow or pain. But only a few seconds before you could see her getting angry.
I wonder, if this is a nathanos thing. Or simply something to do with her and her sisters who will undoubtedly go to a different part of the shadowlands. Am really interested to see who she was talking about there

  14. This cut scene dose give allot of credit to your theories.

Anyhow, a thought about stories where the Villain is Redeemed in the end, in some of the more popular stories it's usually end with the Redeemed Villain doing a self sacrificial act and dying, I wonder if something like that will happen to Sylvanas (or for that matter Arthas if we are going to see him again). Anyhow, I kinda think that would be a too simple of a story, what could be a more interesting story is what if the Villain was truly Redeemed but survived, because it leaves the question of Now What? Seeing that is allot of cases the Good an Person had done doesn't Contradict the Evil, like someone who took down the Evil Emperor and Brought Balance to the Universe is also the same Guy who Blew Up Planets and Mass Murdered Younglings. Like thinking of how to handle someone like that after does bring up allot of Moral Implications based on Popular Views on Justice
