Hello everyone! This is the Normal The Tarragrue encounter from the Sanctum of Domination raid in Patch 9.1 of the Shadowlands expansion of World of Warcraft.
A quick disclaimer: Don’t expect an exceptional performance. I recently took a break from retail World of Warcraft and haven’t played my Resto Druid in quite some time. I barely researched this fight beforehand and am not familiar with all the mechanics nor the damage pattern. This was just a fun-run with a random guild PuG and 3 friends of mine. I definitely make a lot of mistakes both mechanically and rotationally. That being said I thought it might be fun for people to see the fights from a Resto Druid PoV, and mostly I wanted to watch my own gameplay so that I can improve and hopefully get back to my old high-parsing self eventually. Regardless, I hope that the gameplay isn’t too painful to watch and that you enjoy it and find it useful in some way =).
The Tarragrue is the first boss of the raid and it seemed pretty easy, as most first bosses are. The 4 Anima Powers that you get before the boss do add an interesting twist to things. I can see them making or breaking a parse and a lot of “cheese” potential if used right, but also causing a lot of annoyances and griefing if used wrong. They didn’t seem to have too much effect on this particular kill, but it’s still an interesting mechanic. Otherwise this was a pretty uneventful boss.

It was definitely hard to parse in a group-size this small, (generally more targets to heal = more HPS), and we didn’t have a Mage for the Intellect buff. I also played pretty poorly by mistiming cooldowns and mismanaging my mana, (partly because it was my first time seeing the bosses and I wasn’t sure the best time to use them or how long the fights would be), having poor uptime on Lifebloom / Efflorescence, not fully utilizing my kit, and making general rotational mistakes. That being said feel free to glean what you can about Resto Druid from the logs if you’d like.
