  1. depends on if its damage or tactics. for say RBGs Tactics can get you wins even at a disadvantage gear wise, however, gear is at such a point that skill will only bridge about 6-13 ilvl any more than that and any unskilled player might just 1 shot you by pushing all their buttons.

so both are important with skill having a bigger impact the higher up you go in rating.

the only issue people will tend to see is the higher skilled players are often also the ones with the higher ilvl meaning the over all effect is multiplied. skilled and geared can see a player wipe an entire team with a bit of coordination and cooldown stacking.

but its also possible to be out matched and still win if the geared players become over confident and dont focus on the objective, blinded by their kill streak success.

  2. Arena xp is more important, however gear never was more important than it is right now and the way blizzard gates gear in pvp is not ideal, shouldn't need reknown to upgrade honor gear for fresh characters, i think the high honor cost to upgrade each piece of gear is enough grind/gating, and yeah sure r1 players have shown their expierece ewith like 50 ilvl less in arena than anyone else, but lets be honest here, nobody should win under those circumstances its like playing classic, be lvl10 and expect to win against lvl60 by xp alone, that gear stuff is the little rpg that is left of wow, it got nothing else in that category, other rpgs push more story and class design, wow is only about gear and systems, think the systems enforced on us since legion, are just there to cover the big weakness(and strenght) of wow that its a rpg game only about gear and nothing else. Compare this to systems like D&D, where you will find out a character level means almost everything, especially for certain classes like a druid or priest, a druid gains higher shapeshifting forms like turning into a greater werwolve or dragon, he does not need any gear, its a total different system how to play a rpg and not streamlined to MMOs.(but an interesting old school take, warriors that need good gear, vs high level druids that don't give a fuck)

  3. In this expansion, when difference between steps (from 200 to 207 and so on) is about 10% of dmg, hp and heal, gear is more important than skill.. if win condition is sustain damage and live to damping. If win condition is kill during setup than skill is more important.

  4. Yeah no fuck gear difference. In wod everybody had BIS if they did random bgs and I was taking a shit on any 2.4k+ players in duels. Let me play the pvp fuck rated pillar hugging shit i want to duel and do bgs for fun dont care about no life people who play all day everyday. Give me the best gear and watch me take a poop on em

  5. All about the gear. Used to be 2500 on feral and rogue in 2s.. came back after 5 years and couldn't get past 1800. I noticed the people with same ilvl I would destroy but 10 ilvl higher I had to get lucky to win lol

  6. good guide again, I just don't know why they don't bring back Res on PVP gear to split PVP and PVE gear, then the raiders wont be sooking, PVPers also hate doing raids to get gear for pvp

  7. All these people saying should be skill over gear just remember when there was scaling in pvp. It didn't matter if u played the game to get top gear! Meant nothing when u went into pvp. You would be nerfed for having high ilvl and someone who was fresh did more dps.

THE ISSUE IS GLADS dropping mmr on purpose for boosting. You get a 2400 gear enemy at 1500 cr. Like wtf.

  8. I think it depends. An over-geared shit ass player beats a skilled undergeared player most of the time (venruki made a video queuing with bad gear for example). However, when you're on even ground with gear obviously skill takes the cake again.

  9. It‘s skill obviously
If you dont talk about fresh lvld and full elite gear

If you give a r1 a decent geared (rival) char
And a chall player duelist gear with glad weapon
Both get the same team mates the r1 will always out perform the chall player

Saying gear got more value as skill even in low ranks just shows how illusional players are in terms of their skills

  10. "What to do on day 1"
Start the next part of story to unlock flying and more renown and farm rep to socket gear, reconsidering crafting legendary which means grind Torghast…

There seriously needs to be more than 24 hours in a day to do any of this content.. I'm amazed so many people are able to do it…

  11. Skill to a degree. Obviously someone 30-40 ilvls higher will win most games but I’ve went against gladiator alts with 30k hp and got outplayed, and similarly I’ve beaten 40k hp teams on my ilvl 200 alt
