  1. I remmber the aldari elevator 5:00 my PC could not get a good framerate in Shatrad city so getting down on that elevator was risky.
    because I had 0.5 FPS.
meaning I did not know where I was when I tried to run on the elevator and I did not know when the elevator touched the ground.
resulting in me runnting out onto the air multiple times.
even worse was the fact the whole elevator is one model (including the masive decorative bit and not terrain).
why was this bad on poor performents computer model items could at times fail to load properly this meant the elevator could for me be participle missing.

also I now remember the elevator in Gnomeregan.
because I swear that thing moved faster then the player could fall.
meaning if you was stupid enouth to jump when descending on it (just jump straight up) you would die from fall damage as you would not catch up whit the platform again untill it arrived at the bottom.

  2. Ahhh, the Blackwing Descent elevator… Here's a little story that y'all should find funny. So my guild back in Cata, I was a warlock (if you were in my guild, part of my username here might look familiar), we had cleared the first two bosses then went down and started making our way to the next boss. But there were these mini-boss dragons in our way. Well, our tank ended up getting booted into the lava down below and people were freaking out and calling for a wipe. I had gone up the elevator and was chilling at the top while the last remaining folks were getting wiped out by this dragon. Then the dragon aggroed to me and pathfound over to the bottom of the elevator. I was like hey guys the dragon is at the bottom of the elevator, it can't get me. But then the elevator went down and the dragon was pulled up with it and I was like OH CRAP IT'S COMING UP THE ELEVATOR! Well, I died a few steps away from the exit portal. So for the next few months, it was a running joke about that dragon coming up the elevator to eat me. 😅🤣

  3. The elevator in Halls of Origination was also really cool cause it let us control which floor to stop on which was cool, and my favourite elevator: Jellyfish elevator in Throne of Tides for honourable mention there. Great list. Gold star from this Antoras elevator casualty.

  4. Two items: (1) traditionally, an anchorite is sort of a hermit but one that would exist inside of a religious institution, living in a cell and would have minimal contact with the other residents of the abbey/priory/whatever. Basically religious solitary confinement 😛 (2) I remember the elevators at Thunder Bluff. A couple of our guildies on the Alliance side were working on uncovering the maps during Vanilla and we hopped the lift up. Of course dozens of guards and Horde PCs swarmed us, but, being paladins in Vanilla, we just stepped off and threw on our "can't touch us! shield" before hitting the bottom (and taking no damage). Of course, the Horde PCs that chased us off Thunderbluff right off of the elevator weren't so lucky…

  5. The zangarmarsh elvator being all deathy is also due to lore…
Since orcs r typically less inteligent and more muscle brained and since the orcs that decimated the orcs were demon blood fueled orcs, they were especially dumb and so this design helped protect the draenai from enemy attacks

And i made it all up
