  1. Hmmm that's interesting for sure. You could conceivably get fully mythic geared just from doing the heroic raid. In addition it's going to make running LFR valuable if only to get the dinars (currency) especially in the early weeks, since you can essentially just blast through whatever raid is empowered on LFR get 10 boss kills and get a dinar before ever stepping into the raid with your normal progression team. In addition this is great for alts you don't necessarily want to push raiding with but want to get specific pieces of loot for transmog to use in later expansions that have super low drop rates (looking at YOU sylvanas bow for my hunter).

My only question then becomes about tier, since it is as powerful as it is, one would assume it is something everyone will once again be looking to get at the increased item levels. Assuming it's even available. Will it even be enabled? Will it be enabled in all 3 raids? Will we be able to take season 4 items and use them in the creation catalyst to fill out our tier slotswith higher item level? Will tier tokens drop from every raid? If the loot tables of the raids remain unchanged what about the domsocket gear from the 2nd raid? Will it still drop in there? Will I be able to use it inside that raid or torghast along with powered up dom gems at the higher ilvl (and by powered up i simply mean rank 5 gems in the higher ilvl gear)? I know we've talked about them not going back to the domsocket system but that second raid (whose name eludes me for the moment) was tuned around that gear, yeah? So if those effects are no longer there it might be a tuning problem for Blizz. I assume they could always just add the effect of the dom sockets as kind of a "positive affix" whenever that raid was up. You know give the tanks the blood effect, the dps the unholy and the healers the frost (or whatever works best for each role). Maybe we'll be able to mix and match between dom socket gear and tier gear. a person could have 3 dom socket pieces and still maintain their 2pc set bonus. (This would be especially good for people with a lack luster 4pc bonus.)

What about the great vault raid rewards? Will they have a chance to drop rewards from ALL 3 raids (at the season 4 ilvl of course) each week? If so, it's possible however unlikely that you could have a BUNCH of pieces from a raid you haven't stepped into yet simply because it hasn't come up on rotation. That seems a bit unbalanced/rng/non-deterministic and will likely result in more grumbling about bad luck protection amongst the same people who forced titan forging to go away. Will the upgrade shards be available from the "choose no loot" option?

And none of this even touches m+ (nor did I expect it to since I don't think they have that part worked out yet since we are losing 8 current dungeons and getting 6 old ones back) or the great vault. Will we have 14 dungeons worth of loot possible in the great vault? What about tier items? Will they still drop from the m+ and pvp slots (assuming they are even a thing in season 4)? I am deeply worried about the possible amount of loot available from the vault becoming so watered down that the possibility of getting anything useful will become almost impossible.

  2. Very happy to see this in the game. I think it could work great for those special items (Sylvanas dagger, etc) going forward. Outside of this they really need to reduce the amount of items in game. I'd also like to see some form of duplicate protection. Not an issue if you have titan forging but as the game is right now it really sucks to get the same item over and over.

  3. The way I interpreted the upgrade shards was you need 20 “heroic” shards that drop from only heroic bosses to upgrade to heroic and same with mythic. So you have to kill at least SOME mythic bosses to get mythic gear. Which I am fine with.

I want to know if there is going to be a creation catalyst again. If not, everyone is going to have to get tier sets again but imagine trying to get 4 piece with it only available every 3 weeks!! 😮

  4. It's very similar to BFA's crafting upgrades using BOP dungeon drops. You need the BOP currency in order to purchase your upgraded piece. If you're not doing mythic content, you can't upgrade to mythic as you won't have the mythic BOP "mats." You can upgrade a normal to heroic if you've been running heroic raid and you have the heroic BOP currency in order to upgrade. You can't use heroic BOP currency to upgrade TO a mythic.

  5. “Imagine buying the jailer mace without having even seen the jailer..” Uhhh, *shifty eyes meme; I just do m+, no raids, and I got a 272 jailer mace from the event cache last week for completing 4 mythic dungeons xD
