After a few hours of checking out Torghast and experiencing the new torments, score and timer based streaks, I have a few things to say early on while there still seems to be plenty of time before 9.1 goes live.

Honestly, it sounds like they are actually making Torghast even worse for casual players.
Easy or hard; I want Torghast to be totally optional regardless because I simply don't enjoy it. I don't need another game within my game and definitely not a game from a genre that I don't like at all.
Imagine Twisted Magic as a solo warrior. Not "more fair" at all.
Sounds like I'll be continuing my habit of avoiding Torghast.
They had to fuck up the one fun thing… make it elitist. Fuck blizz they are morons
Thanks for the video. What I've read/seen, doesn't make me interested in the least to run Torghast more than necessary. Unsubbed the other day (still have months left sadly), but System-Craft is not the game it use to be. It's turned into a lobby type game and maybe that's the direction they want to go – sit in the city hub and queue up for Mythic dungeon, raid, rated pvp, torghast – and filler jump WQ to WQ to WQ…. yeah so fun…….
I can tell now that I'm not going to like it at all, my gear isn't going to get anywhere near 220 (I don't raid or dungeon, all single playing).
I like your suggestion that a check box should be available at the start of a Torghast run to enable/disable torments. Even if disabling torments reduced the amount of soul ash you earned, that would be a nice choice for players to make.
To hell with choreghast, if it was for fun or mounts fine but for legendaries?? NO I play a couple of Alta but they get abandoned as soon as a realize I NEED choreghast
i would like to get some gear from torg, i dont want to do m+ and raid to get geared up anymore
Honestly, I strongly prefer these changes. It's not even close for me.
Honestly it looks like they want to add Torghast to leaderboards or some kind of esport thing. Really not an improvement. Still boring af.
I like how every streamer i've seen talking about this all say "well this is an early look, so they have time to add things and make it better".
like this isnt 90% of the end goal Blizzard wants for Torghast.
few more powers maybe. maybe nerf the torments a little if everyone complains.
I want to be wrong, but experience leads me to believe otherwise.
it s a reason to quit retail for me. i hate it now, i will hate it with changes.
We will be forced to run it every week until the end of shadowlands.
Its a failed system and no amount of polish will change that.
If it was a solo gear progression system it would be perfect for altaholics.
i still cannot understand why soul ash isnt weekly capped and you can go one layer multiple times or different layers or maybe even one layer of twisting to get the maximum weekly soulash. They could even raise that cap as time progresses to have a catch up. Then Torghast could be wacky and fun there would not be this drama bout it. We wouldn't even need layers, it could just be one endless climb and you get soul ahs every floor till weekly cap is hit or you hit a wall. High Geared and/or skilled players do 15 floors, less geared/skilled players would do 2x 5 floors. Would even have the benefit of making getting more gear feel more rewarding and powerful.
What I think is going on is that they are wasting time developing torghast instead of class balance, world quests, professions, and deepening systems that are going to stay around for future expansions.
All these timers and Torments are the BS we railed against during Beta. Those of us with limited skill, for me due to Physical limitations, are quite sick of whole aspects of the game being inaccessible. I know a few who have actually spoken to lawyers about ADA suits.

Love your opening vid, nice
personally i dont mind if torghast becomes challenging. its just not fun. as a druid at least in my opinion. none of the anima powers are fun to me. especially the root anima powers. they should put soul ash in other forms of end game and let torghast be a 4th end game progression
Carrot on a stick 2.0
I'm almost always on the side of devs, but what rogue-lite/rogue-like are these devs playing. This isn't anything like any of those. Maybe torments are supposed to be like the Hades "heat" system, even though that system is based on player choice and not random difficulty. But other than that I don't see a single feature in Torghast that is something I'd consider to be rogue-like/lite. It's infuriating, not because I care about any of the rewards, but because I really do enjoy those types of games. I got 2 legendaries on my main, took like 4 weeks or something, haven't gone back to Torghast since. And if this stays like this, I'll do the same in 9.1. Spend a few weeks getting what I need then throwing the entire system in the trashcan. What a waste of dev time and talent.
