an alternate way to achieve this is to use a viewport (like CT_Viewport), i have a black bar at the bottom of my screen that i keep action bars, grid, chat, dps meeter etc. in, and it changes my virtual game resolution, so i just get a wider view, that's just as "tall" as it would be normally, so i get to see more of the game. Because my bar at the bottom is pushing the game up i have to compensate way less with the pivot from dynamic cam.
fov is a big problem in wow since ever. for example the dragonflight dragons. its much more easier to to the races with the small drake since the cam is locked to our char head and the drake being small means the hitbox is covered right in the centre of our screen. BUT if you use the larger dragons the hitbox goes way more to the bottom since the cam is still locked to our char head while the big dragon fills the bottum of our screen. blizzard as its small indie compony is not able to fox this issue with fov. the further away you camera is the less this issue bothers but the smaller everything get. so this is not really a solution. maybe check yourself ingame. zoom in to maybe the half and then mount up on one small drake and the bigger one. you will notice how camera changes and how hitbox is different and makes racing more difficult while flying as close as possible near other hitboxes
i followed all you directions 100%. However when I go to the DC addon and try and play with the Vertical Pitch sliders, nothing changes. Any idea why that could be?
I got a new 17” screen laptop only yesterday, thanks 😁 Anyways, maining tanks, I agree with you, Soul. I like to see where the squishes are. These tips might be worth trying out.
The console command for max camera distance doesn't work, or go out as far as it used to. Blizz hard coded into the game that you cant zoom out as far anymore:(. They said awhile back that players could see to much and it made some boss encounter mechanics trivial.
I'm not increasing the max camera zoom because I want to experience the game as intended by Blizz, but I do use vertical pitch because it's just that good and also it was left in the game on purpose whereas the increased zoom was originally a bug which was then left in because people complained about the removal.
Players will always go for the most useful settings regardless of how it affects enjoyment. Max FoV sure is useful, but it kinda ruins the environment artists' work. Having flight sure is cool, but it kinda ruins zone design and exploration which is why Pathfinder was a thing. It's like when you activate all the cheats in a single-player game and have fun for a few minutes but then quickly get bored.
Man I really appreciate you taking the time walking through this, and linking Quazii's video too. I don't want to drop the outside world config to the same level for M+ and raid, so I think we should be pushing Blizz to add m+ to that "raid and BG" config.
DynamicCam is a huge win imo. Like "Blizzard needs to make this default"-level win. Holy crap.
Great video and shout out to Quazi as well. Both always pumping out great and helpful content for both the casual base and "hardcore" players.

I wonder how this addon can assist with small indoor spaces like hallways….
I am like number 120
