It’s here 🙂 I made a quick guide for Shadow Priest in M+ for Shadowlands Seasons 3 9.2.5. This guide doesn’t cover everything, but it should be plenty to get you started. Check out these other shadow priest guides for more information:

Intro
Hello everyone, welcome to my 9.2.5 Shadow Priest Mythic Plus quickstart guide. My name is Xtine and I will briefly go over the basics for Shadow Priest in Mythic Plus. Feel free to ask additional questions in the comments!

Stats
The stat priority for Shadow Priest is:
Haste about equal to Mastery, then Crit then Vers
Aim for as much haste and mastery as possible. I prefer to play with around 35% haste, but anything above 30% is great. Sim your character on Raidbots to determine your stat weights.

Soulbinds
The best soulbind overall for Mythic Plus is the Bonesmith soulbind. The Marrowed Gemstone trait gives a large amount of crit, and this stat bonus is triggered for almost every trash pack. The two potency conduits you would use are Rabid Shadows and Haunting Apparitions. The Plague Deviser soulbind is also an option in certain dungeons on Tyrannical weeks. On Fortified weeks, always use the Bonesmith soulbind.

Talents
Shadow Priest talents for mythic plus almost always stay the same for each dungeon. You will always take Searning Nightmare and Shadowcrash. These two abilities will either match or far outperform Misery and Auspicious Spirits depending on the dungeon. Death&Madness is always a good choice on Fortified weeks, and even more so on explosive and spiteful weeks. Ancient Madness is a good pick on fortified weeks if you need more upfront burst. I suggest taking Hungering Void on Tyrannical weeks. If you are in a group with heavy AOE classes like Warlock and Hunter, then you should take Hungering Void for more priority damage.

Legendaries
Shadowflame Prism is our best legendary for both raid and Mythic Plus. It is 5 target-cleave, and it is triggered by SW:D and Mind Blast casts. You should craft SFP on the helm slot for the most boost to main stat intellect. Your best option for Unity is belt, since there are great haste/mastery boots from the raid.

AOE
While the tank is grouping mobs, apply Vampiric Touch to 4 or 5 targets.
Cast Mindbender, then immediately pop Void Eruption and Unholy Nova with Power Infusion and trinket. Spam Searing Nightmare, and weave in Dark Thought procs. Use the procs immediately since they do not stack.

In smaller packs of 8 targets or less, you will prioritize SFP procs. Use SW:D and Mind Blast on cooldown to keep your Mindbender up as long as possible. Use Searing Nightmare while SW:D and Mind Blast are on cooldown.

ST
The single target rotation is the same as it would be in raid. Apply Vampiric Touch and Shadow Word:Pain, cast Mindbender and use SW:D and Mind Blast. Cast Void Eruption, Unholy Nova, and Power Infusion. Cast Devouring Plague to not overcap on insanity, and use Void Bolt on cooldown while using SW:D and Mind Blast to proc Shadowflame Prism.

Please look at WoWHead and Icyveins for more in-depth explanations of the different rotations.

  1. A good beginning guide for shadow, it would be a much longer video if we chose to go through the different situations we have to consider when DPSing and all the minmax decisions that can be made to optimise our dps depending on the dungeon and the classes we are paired up with. Simming is so important so you can see how your rotations and stat weights will change at different sized pulls, especially if a pack will die extremely quickly during weekly keys or when other classes have cds. If you’re out there trying to learn shadow and or might not be doing great dmg, it’s okay because shadow is the hardest ranged spec out there, needs lot of practice and knowledge when it comes to multi target and currently is a vending machine for procs with tier and conduits.
