Sorry my camera was refocusing all through this video – I forgot to fix that setting before recording!
Now I am not saying this to weigh in on the soulbinds and covenant debate at all since I also dislike the lock outs and having class power tied to covenants, but I just wanted to point out that it does not make sense to say that you dont understand what types of players would have an issue with being able to swap systems or that you dont think they exist.
You cant on one side complain that for optimal performance and to raid at a high level etc you felt you were being forced to do extreme amounts of tedious grinding, and then at the same time say I dont understand how a system that enables an optimal route of performance via an annoying tedious system could be a problem because there are no players who would do this out there even if they dont want to.
It is absolutely very clear that many many players will engage in tedious and unfun activities for the sake of optimization, its not just a few niche players. This is the nature of many players' psychology who want to perform at their utmost.
Arbitrary system for the sake of it. SL was originally looking like a great expac, but it's definitely looking more like a BFA 2.0 wrt all of these systems.
So does that mean we can’t change specs daily? Like my group of friends. We rotate who tanks and dps. Like I might tank a key then someone else tank the next. Then I might tank the third
Should just scrap this WHOLE FUCKING conduit bullshit and add talent rows instead. Creating convoluted systems every expansion is stupid, and it only serves to fatigue the players. Ion needs to go.
System of Systemcraft: Systemlands
having this energy system and letting people jsut swap would be better. To me, if this was to stay, the soulbinds should atleast be spec specific to not punish multispec play.
Just have 3-5 of the same class, easy.
Just like an RPG.
just you raid main, m+ main and your pvp main… duh…. you'll need to roll your class 2 more times >.>
Stupid System that makes no sence, like who would get hurt if u can just change it as u please?
You say that you are fine with being 2% below a friend because they played worse.
Are you OK with a Ret Paladin doing 7% less than a Warlock because of being a Melee vs being a Ranged?
Are you OK with your DPS being higher than your friends just because number of "Run away from Raid"-debuffs you each got?
Are you OK with a Hunter doing 8% more dmg than a Mage because of heavy movement?
Are you OK with an Elemental Shaman doing 6% less than a Shadowpriest on average?
Or would you argue that it is fine with that disparity if there is a particularly melee-unfriendly boss, movement/turret boss, boss-ability RNG, or even who got BiS trinkets? How much difference is it then OK to have between someone who have an optimal Covenant Signature ability Covenant Class ability + Soulbind + Conduit on one raidboss or M+ and someone who will have the most optimal for the next boss/dungeon?
I'm not sure why people are having so much trouble understanding Blizzard's reasoning here. It's the same logic as the Azerite reforge cost – and the covenant swapping, for that matter.
They don't want us respecing every aspect of our loadout for every boss – because despite the fact that some people enjoy that, when it becomes an option, it becomes seen as a necessity, even for more casual players.
It's just like the m+ meta – if Fem and Nerf run 30s with Hunter Mage Rogue, then my 10s will be easier with that same loadout – and anyone not making it as easy on themselves as possible is obviously just screwing around – aka, trolling.
By taking some of the choices off the table for a pre-boss/pre-match/pre-dungeon loadout, there's less prep time required, so there's more play time. Also, when they balance a boss for min/maxed covenant/conduit/etc, then players who haven't min/maxed won't be able to kill the boss.
To think that one day you and your friends will be able to complete a high M+, or specific raid boss, or reach a high pvp rating. Then, the next day you dont come close to any of those achievements again because you and the people you play with have just lost the ability to swap any more conduits so in general your character and your friends will just have less performance for the content you want to play.
this whole discussion is so stupid simply due to the reason that they should just fucking make EVERYTHING unlockable constantly.. let us choose.. I cant hear this conduit and covenant stuff anymore..
Man these systems look like complete ASS. How can they be proud of going live with this. Imagine being this blinded by your own delusions of grandeur.
Hey, can we talk about how they nerfed arms warrior legendaries even though arms is one of the bottom 3 dps spec????
Its a mmo with a sub fee model man lol, making restrictions and time gating and potentially making it more appealing to have multiple characters which would involve more time leveling and gearing up etc adds time. Longer people have to spend to achieve their goals in game the more money they make.
I know its possible to obviously pay sub with gold but I definitely think theres still enough people who still pay the $15 for them to add ways to increase how long your subbed for. Not saying its fun but it is what it is
Gods, the devs that came up with the weekly lockout and energy system is the worst!
I held off on taking time off work (that i rly mentally need) until the announcement of shadowlands. Originally i was pretty upset about the delay, but i was dedicated to my vacation and figured itd be okay becuase the game needs it. But here we are watching the devs waste that time on making systems that prevent the player from playing the game. You want player choice to matter? Let us have a fucking choice dude its not that complex. Everyone I see cover this says the same thing its not needed just let us swap. Why are they doing these things lmfao
Blizzard should just get rid of the damn lockout, period! I really don't understand where all of this control of power/choice is coming from. What's the real deal with swapping conduits freely? Imagine having that same system for talents …
It's very odd, looks like they created layers upon layers of inconsequential systems in this XP… I get that they want to curb borrowed power, and slow down the pace of WoW a bit, and I get the appeal, but the balance choices are very odd.
