I look at the most popular monk legendaries (Tear of Morning & Ancient Teachings of the Monastery) and how monk gameplay feels in raids and dungeons.

We have had damage to heal. Now we have heal to damage in torghast at least.
Honestly i swop to monk resntly mw/ww and my only problim seem to be mana wen shit hits the fan and the low dmg compart to paladin and combart to way of the crane in bfa
Mistweaver is pretty solid from what I can tell most people just don't know how to run it
As a MW main, dungeons are actually really good for us but we fall off on higher keys because we don’t have DM or good defensives. BUT pvp and raids are bad for us, in raids we lack a ton of utility and our mana consumption is out of control forcing us to play a melee fistweave play style which lumps us in with pallies and we’re not as good as pallies. And in pvp FOR WHATEVER REASON the devs just will not allow us to us any defensives inside of a stun. So every time you get HoJ’d or stuck in a rogue opener you’re praying to the WoW gods that your cheeks don’t get clapped too hard lmfao hope this helped (6/10M, 2.2cr pvp, 1.4K i.o)

What are your thoughts on the initial essence font heal proccing the mastery? I think it would be a great way to help Mistweavers out in raid and high m+
Personally, you already said the problems. They have problems. That's obvious. They have no niche, their mastery sucks, and in regards to their counterpart (Hpally, arguably disc too), they don't compete for damage. Is it impossible for a mistweaver to do content? Not at all. Is it impossible for a mistweaver to push +22 or 10/10m? No. Is it exponentially more difficult due to either CD limitations (i.e. Yu'lon in raid requiring so much mana/Chi-Ji requiring 1-2 GCD's per heal), and their lack of "meta" utility? The problem I feel MW has is completely unrelated to the "top 10 raiding guilds." The problem is related to "the top 100" raiding guilds. Their hps is fine, their CD's are fine when played well, but the top 100-ish are more geared towards raid-wide DR's rather than anything else. People often mistake inability to do x with increased difficulty to do x. Are monk unable to get CE? Nope. Is it more difficult? Yep. Communal perception + no raid DR + not pulling MASSIVE hps over any DR-wielding healer makes it a bit of a question "Why bring mistweaver? Disc is bubbles galore, Rsham has SLT, Hpal has nuts dps and DR, Hpriest bring a decent mana regen tool, Rdruid is just a bunch of pre-planned HoTting so healing happens immediately."
As a final note, I still think Revival is a major issue with the spec. It's a glorified half-rate health potion with a raid-wide mass dispel clunkily attached to it. It also feels like a relic of a past era where their CD's were a lesser contribution compared to other healers because Monk did so well, and they've just not progressed since.
I just wish MWs could pump more dps
I was a mistweaver from MoP until this expansion. I loved the class. It's still good in Keys, but in Raid it feels really bad, right now. That's why the perception is bad: it's not good in Raids at all.
Thanks for this. Been maining Mistweaver through Shadowlands and really surprised a lot of folks with how good it was. I do feel like the class identity/niche is missing. I really appreciate your video on it. Hopefully you can put up a tip/tricks/advice video for the spec as I want to improve on my MW.
Man you read my mind I’ve been considering MW… I like the melee dps playstyle of pally but not the heavy CD reliance (and meta is boring), like the hots and mobility of Druid but sometimes it’s just a few too many hots and the dps feels clunky. MW feels like a good in between.
Do I smell a fistweaving guide in the near future? I've started trying to fistweave on my monk alt, and gotta admit I get overwhelmed often in dungeons, as opposed to my resto druid main.
So much unreasonable echo chambering, especially in gaming. LoL is a great cantidate as well, where picking a recently nerfed 48% win rate champion is regarded as intentional feeding. Class balance is so much better compared to the first addons, where the spread between worst and best specs was way higher, even for healers. DPS' at least were impossible to balance with base damage, scaling, and non-linear components like hit and pen. Yet complaints about balance and meta basically haven't changed in 15 years.
My main issue with MW is it had a really solid play style in 8.3 where taking the time to learn the class well was rewarding in performance, now the skill ceiling is much lower and you don't really have a way to break through it. It was also nice to have cooldowns where you could pump out as much damage as the dps for a while. I'm just bored.
Sooo I've always wanted to play a holy priest since I always heal with them in raids and see how awesome they are but I've Never been able to 'get it'. Hpriest just didn't click with me and also I love M+ so much and I was skeptical (I mained a hpally and a rsham). However, I decided to give it a real shot in SL and for the last two week I've leveled and now I'm doing baby keys (+2-5) and I am having a Blast!!!! I realized about the legendary based on Heal and omg it's so much more my playstyle and I'm loving it. Awesome vid as usual Madd, I'll have to dust off my monk next 😀
Determined to get KSM as holy pally. Need a pre made tho. So risky pugging above +10, got to get really lucky not to get a fail group a lot of the time. Put me in touch with some geezers! 🤣🤣 also need some decent critique, only been healing two weeks and prolly making mistakes and shit. Keep up the awesome content. <3
Blizz could make Revival redistribute health like Spirit Link Totem, but only once, so it can be used in situations where Tranq and Hymn could not.
Once they reduce the mana cost of EM mw will be insane. I often find myself popping yulon just for his passive heals and don't pump out EM because it chugs like 20% of my mana
