Not gonna play MMOs ever again. Just here to see where Blizz and your content are going.
Allways believe in second chances, but this time there will be no wriggle room for Blizz.
They will, going forth from today producing content. Good content and they will meet their incredibly high barrier entrance (Base game, sub fee and MT store) equally in goods (you know the thing you allready paid for outside the MT store, the one that is not free, but doesn't require you to pay in order to play) or they will drown within their own four walls.
The only way I can see Warcraft 4 happening would be to release it after the final WoW Expansion and that Campaign transitions into WoW 2.

What server is belluar on in ff14 anybody know?
I mean Jesse Cox had resounding success streaming his whole run of the game and he was a hardcore WoW player so I don't think this is quite true. For Asmon, he may have problems due to his audience but you can absolutely stream the game and even get more out of it because of it, it's not like you have to read the chat ALL the time, just do it between quests or whatever.
Asmon being desinterestef in story, world, and npcs, and only care about combat and raids will lead to him quitting and shitting on it more and will even further the gap between ff and wow hardcore fans.
Alone his statemant that the story of a game is just sprinkles on a cupcake he doesnt care about, says it all. And he said his gonma stream it on hos main channel and wond do it offline. It will fail and just feed haters.
Honestly… There are tons of people that don't give a shit about story, Asmon is one of them and tons of his viewers are likely too. He likes doing dungeons, raids, finding exploits and collecting shit. Story is a bonus but I think people expecting him to read every quest text is gonna be really disappointed and frankly I'm happy about that. This means it will likely get far more scrutiny on these points than it would from some where the story is the most important. Also, I disagree with the fact you shouldn't do MSQ, people can simply turn off the stream, it's the same as saying you shouldn't stream story heavy games. I watched like half an hour of the first TLoU back in the day and then decided to buy it, it didn't destroy my experience to know that part. Again, if the game can't stand on it's own without the story or doing a "refresh", a lot of people who don't care much about the story would likely have never enjoyed playing it anyways. I get you guys are still in the "honeymoon period" but this protectionism don't help. It just ends up breeding fanboyism in the end.
It’s over because blizzard is as stubborn as ever. It’s time we all move on to New World and Lost Ark and never ever touch WoW and Diablo ever again. If there is anything blizzard is not going to change it is disrespecting their players and controlling every little thing players are allowed to do in the game as long as people keep logging in. I might play Overwatch 2 since it’s the only thing Kaplan was doing right on behalf of Blizzard. Playing FF 14 for free atm while waiting.
The problem with a Warcraft 4 to set up the next WoW expansion is this: Blizzard is already running low on story devices for WoW…to the point where they had to invent an entirely new pantheon out of fucking nowhere. Splitting story between 2 games would cause WoW devs to go insane
I think FFXIV dungeon runs and raids should be okay for streaming. There are channels that do walkthrus & tutorials of FFXIV dungeons and raids. MSQ content is generally not good because of spoilers.
I don't think there's any wrong way to stream any game. Some are maybe more drop in friendly but those narrative can really hook an audience and idk why you'd gatekeep anything from the community spoilers or not. If someone is watching any stream any game theyre getting some kind spoilers on gameplay or narrative because games nowadays interweave gameplay with narrative. Even after he cleared all the MSQ stuff he's still going to be redoing those dungeons and trials. And if he starts streaming by Shadowbringer or Heavensward well then whats the point? Theres just more spoilers. Even then the side quests tie into the main story in some way so its such a restrictive thing to say in FF14 of all things. Also in which case after its said and done hes just going to talk about it on stream so idk what its even stopping.
Wildstar was so cool, very stylish, with unique features and nice exploration / lore but was poorly optimized, fps wise.
Also even tho I loved the raiding content, especially at launch, the game died because of the lack of endgame content…
I wish they would do a Wildstar 2.0…I had such good memories
same thing with swtor. except for that it's the end game leveling that you shouldn't stream since it's common to all class unlike 1-50 storyline
Personally I loved the aesthetic of Wildstar. I love cartoony art styles, why I got into WoW. I enjoyed it a lot and it had a lot going for it but the studio flopped hard.
i miss Wildstar Q.Q
Finally someone admits that Shadowlands doesn't feel at all like WarCraft. You can slap it on top of every other fantasy universe with cosmetic changes – and it would fit just fine.
We all know he won't play 100 hours of game till lvl 50, you know I know he knows
It's been my experience at least from someone who tends to surf FFXIV streamer channels on Twitch and I lurk in a lot of them, is that genuinely the people I come across who stream the MSQ tend to fall squarely into three categories, variety streamers who dabble in FFXIV purely because they think it's a growing thing and want to capitalize on it, they come off as being not very invested in it or outright hostile towards the FFXIV community members who join their chat and are confronted with toxic simps, then the streamer would proceed to defend their simps ignorant opinions, driving the fans off their chat; Casual small time streamers who are usually Sprouts and new players who don't know any better and the small time unknown streamers trying to bring attention to themselves who never have more than one or two viewers if that. The popular and big FFXIV streamers and actual fans of Final Fantasy don't really stream the MSQ at all if at ever because they know better.
Echoing other people in saying, I do think that you can make streaming FFXIV MSQ a thing! People stream other story-heavy games and do fine and it can be entertaining to watch. It's basically a live Let's Play.
It's more in the case of Asmongold, I am really unsure if he can manage it. But I assume if streaming MSQ doesn't work out for him, he can just swap to playing offline, or not streaming everything. I'm not even sure if I care for him to like the game, as I can tell he has very different priorities, but it would be nice if he got at least some enjoyment out of it.
I play 14 and I like Asmon/Zack, but people have some weird conceptions here:
1: Asmongold's chat isn't the WoW community, there's people who come from all over the place.
2: When you have 50k in a twitch chat that's unfiltered the immature people are going to want attention, it's not 50k people spamming nonsense, most are just watching.
3: Asmon talks about WoW lore fairly often and seems to have a good base level knowledge of the lore and world.
4: He's more reasonable than people are making him out to be, he'll scoff at things but he'll go through his thought process in why he doesn't like something (one of the reason why people like watching him, he's entertaining, but reasonable).
I know people are afraid that him and his community would ruin the game and give it a bad name or take, but he's probably the person who could actually change the misconception of 14 to some of his community. Let him do what he feels like, let him play how he feels like, don't get pissy if he skips a cutscene or sighs when he see's a miquote. If you're a 14 player don't instantly dogpile him in game unless he's comfortable with it.
Just go watch zackrawr twitch if you think he's some sort of hateful toxic person or you think his community is, his last stream before he took his short break was down to earth, his chat was caring and concerned (it was wholesome af), he opened up about his feelings and talked about mental health. I'm not claiming I know the guy, but I know there's more than meets the eye.
I bet wildstar would be still alive as fantasy style MMORPG. It was just similar to wow and nobody wanted to leave wow something new, because sunk cost fallacy
I think people here are completely misinterpreting what Bellular meant by saying Asmongold shouldn't stream the ARR MSQ, it nothing to do with the chat or "toxicity", it has more to do with him enjoying it for himself without any interference of entertaining the audience and putting on his internet personality. Bellular is instead suggesting he plays it as Zack, instead of Asmongold.
Can somebody tell me if I'm close to finishing all arr content or if I have a long way to go? I'm at the part where a metallic dude kills 3 gods that I've previously defeated and we run with CID
I don't know why Asmon insists on playing FF on stream. He has to know it's going to ruin it for him. He says he wants to give it a fair shake, but then is going to stream it even though he knows that's going to hurt it, thus not being a fair shake. Almost feels like he might be taking a Lazy Peon approach to it. Like he's only trying it just so he can shit all over it to get people to stop asking him to play it.
I don't want him to do that. I want him to ACTUALLY give it an honest shot. But streaming it makes no sense for that.
Streaming the FF to non-FF community is a bad idea
Why? Cuz they might see that following 80-100 hours of their life will be 98% fetch quests and BAD story even by anime standards that only has some nice moments?
Or that for the first 20-30 hours they will be using 2 max 3 abilities in combat?
Why are you su fucking lenient towards this game? If wow had this kind of leveling dogshit exprience you would be RIGHTFULLY SO bitching about it
THIS is EXACTLY the GOLDEN opportunity for you, asmon and whoever joins TO SHOW square enix WHERE they are loosing 99,9% of their potential player base
ARR and 100 filler quests to heaveansward is something (so the entire F2P experience) is bad enought to be used as punishment – unironically
STREAM IT and show how shit it is, and if SE LISTENS to the community – as you have said many times. They would remove entire ARR as it stands. Make a 5 episode anime of what happened since it IS the same for everyone no matter which city you choose
ANd plop the player immediately into lvl 50 conetnt (WITHOUT the 100 filler Quests), abilities – so players arent overwhelmed – will be spread around some class quests to get them and voila
I fixed FF14 for free
I honestly dont think Asmon should stream FFXIV he is doing himself and the game a disservice by streaming it and its not him thats the problem its his chat who have time and time again proven to not be able to behave themselves when it comes to games other than WoW. Asmon playing dark souls, The witcher 3, hollow knight, Bloodborne and Sekiro all ended with him ending the stream early becaus chat got the better of him. He himself said that the times he streamed these games were his worst streams.
Now imagine streaming FFXIV to an audiance of people who are used to WoW. FFXIV has been a hot topic in Asmons community for over a month now and his community has shown nothing but hate and resentment toward FFXIV and the people who play it.
Its a damn shame becaus Asmon seems to really want to give the game a shot but i'm afraid he isnt gonne be given that chance to enjoy it with 40k people in chat fighting over a video game.
This isnt all Asmons community obviously its also the vocal minority of people who play FFXIV who act like a cult at times, they will ruin the experience all the same.
I'm confused on why there would be a problem streaming narrative games. You're enjoying the experience with the chat and whoever wishes to watch and experience with you. Isn't that the point of streaming any game?
Tbh I stopped watching asmon atm cuz he hit 70 and I'm just bumping along 65 lol
Shadowlands has nothing to do with the organic races, cultures, and human dramas of the people of Azeroth. The seeding of alien races and worlds through the memories of the dead is inorganic. It's hard to understand the troubles of the world and the people in it. Which is a shame because Shadowlands is really trying to convey the lives of the dead and their suffering in the anima drought. And if it wasn't Warcraft and if it wasnt about the spirit realm it might have even worked. But it isnt. And it doesn't.
i gotta be honest i dont give a shit about FFXIV because i dont know any of the plot points. what the fuck is the story even about? everyone says its good and amazing but i dont trust everyone. if the game showed more plot earlier it would be more interesting because the low level experience fucking sucks. i have no idea why im doing anything
Wildstar's problem is that it was exhausting to play. It 100% could have been a home for me, but I play games to unwind and Wildstar couldn't scratch that itch. Their raid design was a dozen spinning ground effects one after another, any of which will instantly kill you. It was a punishing experience, not a challenge to overcome or a catharsis. Being a rodent psychopath who healed with dubstep was god damned amazing, though.
why do merchants in shadowlands still need gold?
I still prefer a troll warrior over a bunny boy.
6:58 Morgoth did nothing wrong!
Wildstar is fucking epic.
i stopped playing wow because pvp season was scuffed about the only time i didnt enjoy reaching 2400 in a season and the constant cove swapping and just annoying.
Nah, FFXIV is completely fine to stream MSQ. Tons and tons of people do it and get a large viewership from it.
Wildstar was fun for a bit. The issue was 2 fold, they didnt release any new content and the raiding was too active. Its one thing to have some drinks and kicking back and raiding in MMO's. Its another thing to have the ultra high adrenline raiding of Wildstar. Where you have to have 100% concentration and movement for hours on end. It was too much for me.
you guys cut and end your videos in the stupidest fuckin places man, literally mid convo video ends.
ARR is sooooooooooooooooooooo slow story gameplay content , it is hard to get over it to start getting to the good shit.
Wildstar died because it had a bad launch and wasnt really fully ready to be released. It however still stands as the best mmo ive ever played, even though it died. Ive never experienced combat like it since. Raiding was incredible.
honestly I disagree with that assessment of wildstar. felt like the MMO version of ratchet and clank. honestly I loved the setting and such its just that things didnt really went anywhere in game.
Aw guys, I loved wildstar for why you hated it, guess that's why it failed.
Wildstar was my favorite MMO ever. The combat raids and dungeons were god damn awesome and so crisp.
I still look every few months if there is some private server that magically appeared out of nowhere.
It makes me really sad that you can't play anymore… I still did not delete the game and I probably never will. By now it's a keepsake to honor the dead game.
