  1. So idk if you'll read this Zack, but we know Blizzard steals tropes for their writing and retcon things to fit 'new lore.' In this particular case, they're basically stealing one of the sub–plots from Supernatural. In the first instance, Sam returns from hell without his soul, and does some pretty shady things because he has no moral compass or conscience. In the second, Dean wanders down the path of becoming a Demon because he's corrupted by the First Blade and the Mark of Cain, the 'source of evil' in the show that later is revealed to be the prison of the Darkness. This is pretty much what they've done with Sylvanas. They might think they're being clever in their writing by making it out to seem Sylvanas was doing all this under the Jailer's direction, but like you sort of mentioned, I think this has more to do with her lack of a conscience and her influenced choices without her soul to guide her on the right path. We'll see where they finish with this, but it's honestly just a stolen story with their characters plugged in to fit a quick and dirty rewrite.

  2. i feel like blizzard is holding shit back to do big reveals but they are holding back the wrong shit and it jsut makes everyone completely uninvested in the story…………lets take this idea for example….. say the afterlife befor eit's current state was all hellfire and brimstone ( because blizzard still has yet to tell us what it was like before its current state) and they think that's what the jailor wants to turn it back into with him at the helm…….. just knowing that gives us a motive to counter him, and if they want to do some twist then maybe the jailor actually ruled over a very peaceful afterlife where everyone was free to live in bliss but the cov leaders wanted power so they usurped him and divided the souls into a labor force and forcing purpose upon them in their after lives…… boom, set up and pay off……. instead we have no set up what so ever….ever…… and instead it will all be revealed ( or maybe not) in one sitting and be so uninspired. i think i wrote a better story here in 5 mins than blizz has through the entire x pac storyboarding

  3. Typical Asmongold vid. Rants about how Blizz is bad, has to throw it to them undercutting a woman, yet praises the scene's look. Love people nowadays not caring about how a story can shift. You should always expect the unexpected. That's good writing. I'd say everyone naysaying about this for lore must of grown up post 2000 and didn't actually have to read good writing, hell even read stuff on paper either.

  4. What happens? Take the most idiotic guess you have. That… yes that… because that's what the entire expansion has been. (You can argue further back, but last patch of BfA wasn't bad story wise, granted rest of BfA was pretty crap story)

  5. It‘s clearly not about mind control. The analysis is wrong in many ways. If she was mind controlled, she wouldn‘t turn against him. It’s not logical and she wouldn’t be able to do so. He is probably the voice in her head who poisoned her mind throughout all of these years after she finally took notice of what is coming after death … after the ICC event. This takes nothing from her prior responsibilities, actions and decisions. It‘s all based on her truth. And her truth is based on what the Jailer wants her to know or to believe. Thinking of it, he reminds me of Emperor Palpatine.

  6. I do think it was some massive long con because Blizzard story telling now that's exactly what it is. Maybe Sylvanas saw the jailer after ICC death, made the alliance with him, then plotted. If she did kill so many people (like she did in BfA) then it plays right into her plan but it also means she "protects" the Forsaken because like the Horde it's convenient to her. When we got closer to Shadowlands she realized it was Zoval's time to kick the plan into fruition.

  7. i don't really think we should let stupid things like " shes the one that turned anduin " go because how the fuc would she know that…….. and what leads to that assumption…. you know the jailor makes mourn weapons….. you know the jailor took anduin….. you know the jailor has domination magic… what got her to that point? it's lazy and there are plenty of other things you could say she did like teldrasil….

  8. i think Sylvanas is gunna help then itll go to the jailer and he'll say how much suffering he went through being the jailer and that all the souls in shadowlands pain was channeled through him and hes felt it since he was born and then theyll kill the jailer and sylvanas will make amends by taking the role of the jailer because maybe there always has to be one to balance out the universe or something and the other expansions will make you like her more by having all your allies not help you in your time of need and only she shows up with all of hell to help you. just a guess but i feel like its gunna go in that general direction

  9. See, I had always thought that Banshee Sylvanas, after being freed from the Lich King, was still essentially Sylvanas, but bitter and jaded from having been rejected by her former allies. She became gray because the black and white of the world had begun to blur, with supposedly good people scorning her for things beyond her choosing.

The split seems like them trying to work a way in where Sylvanas lives, but the evil half is purged, and she's reset back to good person. Sounds pretty weak.

  10. Since the beginning of this expansion, I was hoping to see Arthas again. As the "story" went on, I thought perhaps it was better he doesn't show up less he gets ripped apart by the writing team.

  11. I think Uther is speaking only with the fragment of her soul that was returned, the scene where you have evil sylv and good sylv argueing is both fractured portions of her soul talking to eachother.

So for the good sylv she has no memories from anything past her death up until she was returned into her body, or at least this is how I understood her and Uthers conversation.

My assumption is that they will some how have the souls merge and come to some reconciliation with eachother…..OR just overwrite bad sylv with good sylv cuz they suck at writing

  12. Blizzard has taken away agency from Sylvanas but I mean they've been doing that to their players for years so why not their characters too? Blizzard has become Shadowlands and Ion is Zoval xD.

  13. What if the Banshee Queen is playing the Ranger General? What if he gave her back her soul and fed info to the Ranger in order to manipulate the heroes into position? They would not trust Sylvannas the Banshee Queen. I say this bc it seems like Anduinn accepted the transformation willingly bc he was swayed to the cause.
This is the only way I would accept the inconsistencies in the current story.
