What ever happened to cross spec like from vanilla wow I would like to see that return so we have more choice on our play style. I play hpally more dps and healing through ret talent would be nice
Its still way cooler and you can still pick and choose utility talents as you want and suit the situation. Its WAY better than the old shit systen we had before.. obv classic talents was the best, but hey this is a close second
This is 1000% true (hall of fame mythic raider) there’s legit 2-3 builds that are good per spec for raiding,m+ and pvp. These talent trees do nothing other than a false sense of options when there always will be a meta build
Of course the talent system offers no choice, one talent build for ST, one for AoE/cleave. If there was “choice” there would be different builds for each, like multiple talent setups for ST. The whole system is boring, offers nothing, just empty spaces filled with worthless points. Sure some talents might be a little interesting, but most are just filler rubbish. Blizzard has zero creativity in game design. Modern Blizzard anyway.
This is true to a point as a high level healer I almost never run a meta build but I also do have a hard time finding pugs because I don’t run the meta. The problem is the math is way to hard to do and it takes multiple runs to get the real world results. So your right simcraft is a real way to play but doing it your self is as well.

He's talking about the 1%. Extremely disingenuous with this take. You can pick whatever you want and be fine.
Hot take: Superfluous commentary on specializations to be good at specific content is superfluous.
Facepalm
Bro I do m+ 32, 33 😂😂😂 gtfo here…
I wish you could actually mix it up and be successful instead of A Cook book for the Cookie cutter guide to succeed.
Im litteraly build new tree every m+/raid because every encounter is different i have big choice there XD

They only don’t give choice if you care about metrics. And let me tell you. 95% of players don’t give a fuck about metrics.
You just said a whole bunch of nothing….
Someone has to come up with the build before the top level players abuse it.
And that someone could be you. Doesn’t mean the default is that you have to only use someone else’s guide.
I was one of the first players to abuse a very specific build in pvp on holy priest when holy priest was sht
And only months later I saw this pop up in guides
By then I’d gotten 2300 with that build and got bored of it.
You can always do something that puts you ahead doesn’t mean there is no freedom
Day 1 players don’t have ready builds just waiting for them someone gotta come up with the build.
Literally every single game works like that

It’s called being optimal and min maxing your role every game is like this if there are any choices involved to progress your character
Talent trees after wotlk/cata became so darn annoying
