Tanaris – Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft

Tanaris has been an endless sea of sand for aeons. Nozdormu, the great dragon of time, was said to make this land his home since time immemorial, thriving in the solitude of oppressive heat and miles of sand.

Tanaris is the ancestral home of the bronze dragonflight based out of the Caverns of Time. The titans also have a holding here in the form of an entrance to the ancient land of Uldum, which was once guarded by elite stone giants found in the southern parts of the desert. It was here that Anachronos first discovered the full threat of the silithid, who had been making hives in the remote regions of Tanaris. The War of the Shifting Sands was consequently unleashed upon the western land of Silithus.

With World of Warcraft Cataclysm, Steamwheedle Port and many parts of Tanaris were flooded making Gadgetzan a port. Some Tanaris goblins wisely invested in desert real estate and reaped the benefits when it became beach-front property.

Tanaris contains quite a few instances, including all the Caverns of Time instances, as well as Zul’Farrak.

  1. What looked like a normal video turned out to be a big dilemma for me. So, I've let the Patreons and YouTube Members pick whether I should include all themes in the video (Goblin, Zul'Farrak and Pirate) or instead, go with the desert tracks only. The second version was picked. I've also included the classic "Desert" theme although it's played in just very small areas in this zone.

Anyway, here's the fifth iteration of the video. I'll include all themes in the Livestream program (when will be available).

P.S.: This is for Esperi, who requested this video

  2. Man, you'll never know how many times did i played your Tanaris (vanilla). I even downloaded for offline, so as to enjoy anytime espcially when i try to get asleep. Then i just turned on youtube on my bed, i got a new Tanaris video from Meisio uploaded only for 4 hours ago. You've just made my end of the day as perfect. And I'm also missing the mystic and desolate desert of Tanaris. Thank you so much, good night!

  3. Being born and raised near the beach this zone and soundtrack is very special to me. I remember about 15-20 years ago leveling up in this zone.

When time permits I find my peace at the beach and as I see a sunrise or a sunset I think of these songs.

    Go in peace

  4. Tanaris was always one of the most immersive zones for me. The visuals, the mood, the music, everything about it is just really well done. I enjoyed it very much! The music felt pretty balanced and always in line with the visuals.

  5. As much as I like the music, I used to shut it off while I played. Only left the environment sound on. The music made me too relaxed and I would always become too sleepy to play. I prefer to listen to it when I'm not playing and just want to chillout.

  6. Thank you for this one, Meisio! The Vanilla Tanaris video is already a mainstay in my sleep rotation of your videos, so this one is an obvious inclusion, too. 🙂

  7. These videos are honestly so great, I have a whole playlist of these that you've created that I play while working / studying, hearing the WoW sounds in the background gives me such a nostalgic feeling that you capture so well with this content. The "Gameplay No Commentary, ASMR" series are also a huge favorite of mine too.
