  1. Fizzle Darkstorm I'd say is "the Hogger" of Durotar, though I completely agree with you, Elwyn is a far better starter zone, and building up with Westfall, Redridge and Duskwood is just the cherry on top.

In Dun Morogh I'd go with Vagash, for tirisfal I'd go with Dargol, or possibly Melrache as part of the longer quest-chain, for Mulgore… I got nothing, never played a night-elf so no idea there

  2. Classic barrens is as good as elwyn

You gotta remember that you leave durotar/mulgore and it opens up to seemingly endless plains (because your 2004 computer couldnt render max distance)

  3. I love elwyn. Awesome zone. However, as someone who has started his first steps into azeroth in dun morough, when it comes to feelings, nothing beats dun morough for me. Music wise both elwyn music and dun morough music share first place of best wow music for me. But I totally see how people would say elwyn is the greatest. Story wise elwyn and its neighboring zones are probably more engaging though

  4. I never really liked Elwynn for some reason. It’s not the worst zone, but it’s not near the top of my list. Looking back to my first time in zones I would say loch Modan, the undead zones with the both the scarlet monastery area and the worgen town, the snowey zones( especially dun morogh), stormwind, ironforge, and tanaris all are memorable. But to me duskwood is the one that really stands out. The quest lines, the pvp, the Halloween vibes, and of course stitches was something I’ll never forget. My 2 best pvp battles took place in cross roads and duskwood.

  5. As a 14 year old, I think it was around March 2005 when my brother introduced me to WoW on a pserver. My first character was a Human Paladin, and I was absolutely amazed by that zone!

A month later, I got into the official version of WoW and created a Tauren Druid. It blew me away even more, it just clicked with me. Those were the good old days.

But yeah, technically, Elwynn Forest is the best.

  6. I always found the human zone vibes to be boring, but I like to play rpg races that are as far from vanilla human as possible. I see that stuff every day; I want to engage with unfamiliar settings and characters in my fantasy games.

  7. Never started there, because I mainly played Horde over the years. I think it’s what your own experiences was with the game, what shapes how it feels to you. For me it is Durotar and Tirisfals what give me the WoW feeling.
