  1. I wonder if the kyrian were removing memory before Zovaal was imprisonment, is it the primus that told kyrestia to delete memory ? and at the same time does the primus took those memory and store it for himself ?

  2. Remember that the Sunwell until it was Reignited, WASN'T A Font of Light Magic, Just Arcane. It was a well that was imbued with one of the vials of water from the Well of Eternity. It took the Naaru Mu'ru sacrificing itself to reignite the well that made it into a Font of Light Energy.

  3. there was a story?, i dont remember most of shadowlands due to all the timegateing and McGuffins. How do you the player escape the maw and blizzard has yet to explain how we opened a door that was impossible to open before, so many plotholes, and yet the story i only remember maybe 5 things the rest who cares, and i have a feeling the players are being used by everyone and near the end the players will be sacrificed to the old ones in some sort of manor.

  4. Yeah, they are all sketchy. Primus is remembered as an “old tyrant” by the Venthyr Stonewright. They locked their “brother” and replaced him with a construct so they could feed in anima without control. This was a coup and I hope Zovaal kills them all.

  5. The game we play is not the realm of life. The differences between what we can do and what those in the Shadowlands can do show us this. For example, all denizens of the Shadowlands are aware of most of the other worlds within the death universe. Were as no one planet in our realm knows of any other unless they have visited or been visited by another. The denizens of Shadowlands can be made aware of things happening in our realm when a soul comes and doesn't have it's memory wiped, but we never get a child born who had memories of the Shadowlands. Also, why do we have kids as entrance into this realm and not Shadowlands. I have come to believe that there is a separate realm of actual life and that is were Elune actually is. Our existence seems like the realm of life, but it is in fact simply the great cycle.

  6. @Accolonn I also don't trust the eternal ones of the shadowlands…..but that does not make me trust Zovaal. I'm starting to get the vibe that this shadowlands eternal one thing might be similar to the plot of Elder Scrolls Morrowind. In that elder scrolls game, there was this technological civilization that was so advanced it seemed like magic and they were all absent from the world for some mysterious reason. Then there was an evil godly being that apparently got turned into a godly being by stealing an object leftover from that missing technology race. So the main player character sets off on an adventure to stop this evil godly being; and discovers the continent is ruled by a Trinity of godly beings that might kinda sorta be possibly benevolent if you did things to please them or went along with their plan for how things should work. Then gradually the player learns that this Trinity of godly beings used to be very close friends with the evil godly being…and then he turned evil and wanted the power for himself, so he betrayed them and they worked together to imprison him in a fiery realm he could not escape. But they don't tell all the details….and so eventually you learn that all four of the godly beings did not start out as gods….and they all found the object from that missing magical race together when they were mortals. Then there was disagreement and conflict between them, and the 3 conspired to remake the world (or at least the continent) with themselves as godly rulers. And in order to keep this power, they were willing to imprison that 4th friend, who was resentful of that decision. But then he really did turn evil, even if what they did to him was wrong, he was willing to do wrong on his own. So at the end, the player defeats the evil god by destroying the object which made him a godly being in the first place……but then, strangely, when the player returns….the Trinity of beings back on the continent are no longer godly beings, just normal skilled mortals. So they apparently lost their power when the object was destroyed also.

Long story short….. maybe Danuser is writing shadowlands where these Eternal ones were friends with Zovaal and all of them found the First One sepulchre, and maybe found an object that turned them all into Eternal One godly beings. But Zovaal maybe wanted all the power to himself, and they wanted to keep their own powers. So they were willing to chain him and imprison him there and then lie or not really tell all of the story to keep their powers in their realms. This still doesn't make Zovaal "good" , but it sets up a corrupt system.

  7. This is so obvious that Accolonn does not like the light and he wants it to be the enemy (but ok, he has preferences I get it) … I liked the original lore, not this modern, where everything has to be shady … and it is sad for people like me (fan of fantasy games) to see the game I liked so much, getting divorced from the fantasy aspect (in a fantasy mmorpg) … I play in each game a paladin because I like to play the good guys and when I saw Anduin use the light to raise his army at Lorderon, I was like "Ohhh that is so cool", but I don't want anyone to tell me why can he do that … It is like telling a joke and trying to explain to me why it is funny and at the end you tell me that the person who made the joke is a crack addict

  8. I find the Raven Queen from D&D lore interesting in regards to possible hints about the Winter Queen. Her domains are winter, death, and … fate. The Winter Queen is the first Eternal One to mention the rings of fate. We've already seen her 1) Go around deciding which Wild Gods were worth saving 2) rebirthing a dragon, a being not under her charge, and binding her fate to Ardenweald.

The other footnote regarding the Raven Queen that I find interesting is in regards to her true name. One of the ways she protects herself from one of her nemesis is keeping her true identity a secret.

  9. No one escapes the maw…

What if no one really does escape? What if we are still trapped in an illusion of the Jailors? That's why when you eat those mawshrooms all you see are his minions everywhere…. because everyone is!

  10. i do not trust anything in Shadowlands for 2 reasons.
1: The whole concept of a Physical afterlife living beings can go in and out is stupid.
2: The Winter Queen. I grew up on H C Andersens tales. The Snow queen aka winter queen is evil. Never trusted her from the moment she was introduced

  12. How does all of this connect to the Old Gods Wrathion and Magni talked about? Are they connected? We know that Loa like Bwonsamdi interact with the Shadowlands.

I'm afraid that making everyone slaves doesn't endear me to Zovaal but I do agree that he's fascinated with Light.

My copy of the Grimoire is on its and I am interested to read it.

Not sure about about the Primus or the Winter Queen. I think they both have secrets. Just don't know what. I agree that Denathrius doesn't give two fucks, but that doesn't make me trust him.

  13. A little bit unrelated but since I get my Warcraft lore only from Accolonn at this point I wanted to ask: do we know already what broke the Arbiter? I remember this being a big question at the start of the expansion, but over time it seems the misterie just died out and I cannot recall hearing the answer.
    Cheers!

  14. You keep saying "Primus' deal with the void", and I see comments talking about his connection to the void… WTH? What connection? Did I miss some in-game or in-book official Lore or is that just speculation as well?

  15. Denathrius needs to be expanded on. He created the Nathrazeim, the greatest tricksters and manipulators in the entire universe, yet we are to believe he worked for Zovaal, was defeated, and has made his intentions known?

No one can convince me that if the dreadlords were tricksters, he isn't miles ahead of them in their own craft. No one knows denathrius. He is the only true enigma in the shadowlands.

  16. isnt WQ's line about being "remembered in the rings" just referring to the mushroom rings? marasmius and the mushroom rings that have always been there in Ardenweald and probably remember everything…or did i understand that wrong?

  17. The Winter Queen Reminds me of the White Witch, from Chronicles of Narnia. She Flat out puts an ultimatum on The Return and continued survival of Y'sera, knowing that we were connected to Y'sera. She tells you, when she brings Y'sera back, that her Fate is now tied to Ardenwield and if Ardenwield falls, so will Y'sera. She trys to strong arm you into helping her win anima. She sends you to Danathrius. She Culls the groves of souls, basically to keep the key to setting Zoval free locked away. I have not liked her from the start. She pisses and moans about Elune not helping her, well the help she wanted, was Anima, from the Night elves souls! Maybe Elune did not order the burning of the Tree, but she gives the souls of the night elves as Anima to feed her sister and her Sister's Realm! those Elves had zero choice in that, and that's another thing that ticked me off. There does not seem to be any free will in these places! Except for Maldraxxis but they were missing the Primus for how long? the Winter Queen is no different, she does not seem to give a damn about her subjects or their free will, as Sylvanas points out during her attack on Ardenwield, the Queen lets her subjects Die, rather than face Sylvanas. one of them gets killed and is used in the Machine that powers Damn Bastion, and she does not seem to care about that monstrosity either. she is pissed when we try to help Tyrande! angry that we tried to stop her being consumed by the night warrior, even though, we as the player have done a fuck ton for her by this point and cleaned up all kinds of mess just in her realm. with Y'sera and Shandris helping. we are nothing more than Fertilizer to her, and maybe that's it, but she has bothered me, since I knew there WAS a Winter Queen. I am also a Chaos goblin, and I like to be free to make my own choices so none of this sat well with me. My Moral code is much more flexible than everyone elses and as a Sylvanas Loyalist I never wanted to go into the portal to help those Traitorous Boot Licking Alliance sympathizers, much less the Murderer of the Blood elves in Dalaran, or that insipid boy king, but I Digress. there was no choice for me, I was not aloud to leap into the portal and Serve the Dark Lady, I had to watch her from afar, and eventually we are pitted against her, where she found me kneeling and stopped short of killing me. Which was a real Treat let me tell you.

  18. Know what would be actually decent writing? If everything we saw in the final 9.1 cinematic..sylvanas betraying zovaal…was all an act. Sylvanas still working for zovaal, but from within the walls of his enemy

  19. What if the shadowlands was split iteself into the cosmical forces?

    Orobos – Order
    Bastion – Light
    Maldraxxus – Death
    Ardenweld – Life
    Revendreth – Disorder

Oden has an eye in the shadowlands, the primus has insight into the void. I feel like this might be relevant tbh. I still don't like how order invaded the shadowlands, effectively banishing the jailor and creating order out of the shadowlands. To me order is the shackles of the cycle.
