Step into the frosty peaks of Dun Morogh, the snow-covered home of both dwarves and gnomes in World of Warcraft. This iconic zone is more than just a starting area—it’s a land of rich history, legendary cities, and unforgettable adventures.
Once a harsh and unyielding wilderness, Dun Morogh became the heart of dwarven culture and ingenuity with the rise of Ironforge, a city carved deep into the mountains and glowing with the fires of legendary craftsmanship. Alongside the dwarves, the gnomes thrived in this land with their incredible intellect and creativity, building the technologically advanced city of Gnomeregan. However, their story took a tragic turn when their beloved capital was overrun by Troggs, forcing them to seek refuge among their dwarven allies.
Beyond its iconic cities, Dun Morogh is a land shaped by struggle and resilience. Its snowy landscapes and tranquil villages evoke a sense of nostalgia for many players who began their World of Warcraft journey here. Yet beneath the peaceful surface lies a land fraught with danger, from the wild Troggs threatening its tunnels to the biting cold that has tested its inhabitants for centuries.
The dwarves and gnomes share a unique bond in their fight for survival, blending the strength and fortitude of the dwarves with the ingenuity and determination of the gnomes. Together, they have shaped Dun Morogh into a symbol of perseverance against overwhelming odds.

Its frosty trails, warm inns, and cheerful melodies remain etched in the hearts of players as one of the most beloved zones in all of Azeroth. Thank you for putting so much work into these videos! <3
Just happened to refresh and see one of the best creators drop. Happy Friday!
Welcome back to the library! This project has been one of our most ambitious yet—not because of its length or depth, but due to the diverse ways we've chosen to tell the story of Dun Morogh and its inhabitants. Over the course of 28 minutes, you'll experience 252 individual recordings that make up 120 machinima-style scenes, 12 songs, 4 seperate voiceovers—and yes, you're absolutely right, I still dread pronouncing the word "Dwarf"!
I hope you enjoy this journey through the history of Dun Morogh! 📚
I've been absolutely loving your stuff! Thanks for all the hard work.
I love to listen to these on a drive or while I'm playing classic.
Ill never forget my very first gnome rogue starting in this area. It was just a fun place to start in
Been waiting for this one. Dun Morogh is my favourite zone, started my first character there way back in Vanilla and made hundreds more since just to play through the area again. The music and the general ambience is my safe space away from the world.
Great video! What's the name of the comic shown at 14:51 ?
And just as I started leveling a dwarf, this video pops up. Coincidence? I think not! I can't wait to listen to this with the snow crunching under my heavy boots.
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock
14:50 Mograine asked for help to create Ashbringer yes, but it was not created as a counter to Frostmourne
I'm so eager to tuck in and listen to this, thank you for all your work on this channel! it's becoming one of my favourites, the improvement in quality is really noticeable 🙂
My first character was a Human Paladin and I remember the magic of traveling from Elywyn Forest to Dun Murogh, dodging dangers along the way, to meet up with my friend who started as Dwarf Hunter. The world felt so big and full of wonder back then
Great video – the second player housing is a thing and I can have a house in Dun Morogh, I will ABSOLUTELY get it. This place is the pinnacle of cosiness to me.
9:18 “wash yer back”
The first time I saw Ironforge, I rememver the magic i felt as it came into view and… my computer sucked and crashed
Hey! I just love these stories and i can watch them over and over! And! presented like this just makes it better!
im looking forward to when/if we get to the burning crusae and later on wrath of the lich king stuff! But yes there is alot more of classic zones and lore still to tell!
This is one of the few creators i always look forward to to see "what comes next"!
