  1. Wow's been looking "hopeful" since fucking WoD. Its such a daed gae, and no, a "Legion" wouldnt fix it. Legion was alright, but nowhere near enough. A proper Classic+ is the only thing that can "save" any variant of the game

  2. They've "busy been working on the next thing" since halfway into WoD, and the only time it worked was Legion. Every other time was just cope upon cope upon cope with nothing but disappointment to show. How on earth is this an upwards trend?

  3. I think their take on the worgen heritage questline is incorrect. To me that questline taught that Tess assumed that the Gilneans were strong because they were worgen but instead learnt that the strength of the Gilneans came from sticking together to bear the worgen curse and that's why they overcame its challenges. That's why she doesn't need to become a worgen to be Gilnean, she just needs to stand by her people.

  4. I only hope that the taking of Gilneas will be a fully fledged scenario with a bunch of chapters and cutscenes. Don’t make it a single quest where you walk into Gilneas, kill a mob in the central building then get phased into a celebrating city and the flavor text just says “You did it, champion!”

To be fully honest, I’d want the taking of Gilneas to be a bit like the Firelands in Cataclysm or Quel’danas where all players contribute daily and weekly, and every reset sees the city slowly taken back one quarter at a time so the event would be spread across weeks with rewards, mounts, transmog

  5. This is the first time I will not pre purchase WoW. I definitely like DF better than Shadowlands. The $90 price tag is really stupid on top of the monthly fee. They have really jacked up the price of pre purchase.

  6. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with hoping the game will improve. I thoroughly enjoyed the game when I started in wrath, through cata. I left during legion due to having responsibilities that prevented me no-lifing the game.
I “hope” that this saga they are creating gets back to what I enjoyed before, but we have all grown and changed over the years so who knows .

  7. WoW is dead to me when they announced Earthen Dwarves are going to be a neutral race. I don't care if the Alliance getting a third Dwarf race, I care that they're forcing the Horde to have them as well for no damn reason. Don't care the expansion is about them, Dwarves of any kind should NOT be part of the Horde. Having them in make this NOT the Horde I once respected and love. When they add them, I'll be complete done with WoW.

And it's fuck up that female Earthen Dwarves are getting beards before male Trolls does! SAD!

  8. that part where you say he admits fault, it sounded less like Ion was admitting he messed up and more like he was shifting blame to other people, like they did with Denuser, trying to shift blame on Afrowasabi, the midnight story ninja. "I didnt ruin it, it was the people that I inherited the job from, they ruined it. I just sort had to muddle through."

  9. Call mean Ahole but Tali&Ev, specifically taly since he is the most vocal, is huffing copium so hard he's on cloud 9 now. And I loved their show but once the copium abuse started I vould not stand by and watch it, problem is there's a whole AA meeting's worth of fans that form kind of an echo chamber in thei comunity that makes Scientology look like the sunday church.

  10. I haven't played WoW in over 6 years, despite all of these changes… I would love for someone to convince me to go back somehow. But the way I see it: FF14 offers good group content and great story, GW2 offers great open world content and PVP. What does WoW offer thats better than those two? I really struggle to come up with anything.

  11. Bellular compartmenalized wows problem to a writing problem, and now like a fool thinks the game will do better once next expansion lands. Hes yet again ignoring completely that the game is being made to be a mobile phone style, pay to win, inconsequential, convenient MUSH! A tasteles SLOP for the casual piggies. What is the point of logging into wow when the game provides no progression ladder worth a damn!? Why am i even developing my character when its all an illusion?!

Michael… The cinematics could all have been fucking riveting and the game would still be dying. Its either a meritocracy or nothing. And currently wow is nothing.

  12. Every new expansion: This time we REALLY listened and understood, from now on everything will be better. Also every new expansion: Shifting the blame on others or circumstances and ended up worse than before.
They always talked a lot and showed nothing, just like in their cutscenes. Now Metzen is the bait, but I won't take it. Is he writing the storys? Or is he just an advisor for Danuser and Co? He had a great performance on stage, but over all… They have to SHOW me that they have changed, but I doubt it. Look at the pre-order-premium-edition-impudence, now that's Blizzard like we all know by now.

  13. I think expecting DF to be anything more than a maintenance expansion is naive. You're not going to be able correct course as quickly and completely as the span of one expansion. What DF represents is a step in the right direction. Keep your expectations grounded and reasonable, and stop expecting change and speed at miracle levels.

  14. meh, if it's going to be the same writing team led by Danuser then there is no hope for the story. At this point it's just rumours, so I'll just use what we know and that is Danuser is still part of the writing team and that's not a good sign (even if he is just a normal writer)… DF is a clear example of this, DF was "danuser's baby" and look how awful it has been

so no idea why are people expecting any different with War Within if nothing changes, Metzen is not going to do the actual writing as he's just going to guide things and that's not enough for the narrative and lore (it needs much more). Also it's not just Danuser, it's the entire writing team who are bad and have put out garbage even in the recent novels that have been beyond terrible.

Also just in terms of content/gameplay, Blizzard want to release expansions even faster than they barely were doing so now, so expect the same formulaic generic unimaginative no-evolution content in every single patch, with a seasoning of everything will be more rushed than it already is.
