  1. I think people forget how important the emotional attachment people have to their character and npcs is in an RPG, Its what transform a game into a world. Warcraft would not have survived as long as it has if they did not manage to get people emotionally invested in their world and characters and is why people get so angry when they see them dragged through the mud.

  2. It couldn't be a real story because that would mean it's following individual characters for an extended period of time instead of a ton of characters for 5 seconds each. Plus that would mean Jaina is dating a zombie and that's kinda weird.

  3. I didn't feel teary for Haurchefant, more angry. What happened seemed really unnecessary because if the WoL would have reacted, there had to be someway for it to end differently. The Estinien/Nidhogg scene though, got to me.
No spoilers, Stormblood (between all patches, mostly after the x.0) made me feel even more than Heavensward. And an every wider range of emotions.
Shadowbringers was even more intense. I didn't ask to cry so much.
Endwalker … Oof. That was a ride. I went emotionally numb near the end and then my emotions were opened again. So wild. There's no way 6.1-6.5 can be as emotional, right?

  4. The way you always in every video clip slam WoW and praise and worship FF14 , I think you just need to bale out on WoW and permanently jump to ff14. I come here it seems to remind myself that I am not supposed to be having fun. I guess I just missed the hate train. All games including FF14, GW2, certainly SW:TOR , and Ever Online, old Rift online, etc… Are flawed for many reasons, Partly Covid partly a changing demographic. Us Old school Gamers are seeing a merging of RPG and Arcade style components where the emphasis is on the fast paced get to the "Gimme cool stuff and cool gear, the story don't matter" garbage and it almost physically hurts to watch. but I still find ways to enjoy WoW. The parts that don't make sense, I "head canon" to make it into a cohesive story. Only expansion I can't seem to edequately force fit is WoD. The Alternate Universe / Alt timeline is stupid and we have a portal to a completely different reality? On one hand I agree with much of what you say but is there no good thoughts content at all for you in Wow?

  5. To see WOW content creators being emotionally pulled into the FFXIV story was really interesting. It shows how a good story can complement a game. When WOW started having more narrative stories, I unfortunately never got any emotional attachment or reactions to anything about it
