Kicking off the early 2000s MMO boom, World of Warcraft was a critical and commercial success from the beginning. But with it being a relatively early incarnation of the genre, and being as popular as it was, there were bound to be problems. And problems there were not even a year after the game was released, when players started dropping like flies.

  1. Ah yes, because people definitely act with the same sense of self preservation in games as they do in real life.

    Sorry but a study done on the health of game characters whose mortality is trivial is bad science.
