The Truth Behind LFG & Solo Queue in Shadowlands PvP

Read more about Shadowlands ➜ https://worldofwarcraft.mgn.tv

The LFG system for Shadowlands PvP has been under scrutiny as of late. Many players have been calling for an improvement of the LFG system as well as the implementation some type of solo queue system for ranked PvP. However, there are many misconceptions regarding the impact of a solo queue system in World of Warcraft. With this video I hope to address these misconceptions as well as spread awareness regarding this topic before the release of Patch 9.1

In this video, I will be going over comments from the community regarding the current gearing situation, class balance, prevalence of boosters, and much more. Additionally, I also go over the social aspects of World of Warcraft and why we are seeing players reluctant to group together for various forms of competitive content like Arena, Rated Battlegrounds, & Mythic +.

  1. the community / lfg topic should be THE MOST TALKED ABOUT THING IN WOW. this is where i sit for hours contemplating if what i'm doing is worth my time and money, i just wanna hop on, and have fun! love you stoops

  2. Lol, ppl say LFG is social.
It's like saying tinder is a social dating app.
Only difference is that instead of Rating a face from 1-10 you now rate someone 200-226 where 223-226 is swipe right and everything else is swipe left. And CR/XP is the distance apart.

  3. Making the rewards different doesn't make sense to me. In league Playing Flex versus Soloqueue doesn't reward you differently. I think the only determining factor should be which I play based around how many friends I have online. You should be able to grind honor and conquest just as fast in soloqueue. Your friends may not be willing to play competitively with you until you're full geared… why should that be a slower process when all you can do is play by yourself in soloqueue? Doesn't make sense… that's where you'd need adequeate honor and farming because you're probably queueing it to gear your characters before you play competitively with a premade group. The only differing award should be the titles in which they specifically indicate whether you got high ranked with a premade or solo… this way when they are linked in order to join groups the group leader will be able to recognize, "hey this persons high solo rank which means they probably know their class, but since it's not premade maybe they don't have as much experience coordinating with others."

  4. I got to 2100 in 2s and 3s in 8.3 and made a lot of friends even it was my 1 arena season when it was considered dead patch or whatever. Now I struggle to get to 1900 even though and won't get accepted to groups… and yeah meeting only r1 boosters

  5. I never played pvp rated because u need to look for a group. I decide to try it because it gives a huge amount of anima. I made sure to let people know im new and looking for new people to pvp. And still people complain that it is a noob team. A solo que system would help to have more '' casuals '' in to pvp and make it more balanced. Im a noob but being ganked and playing against 10 high rated horde teams make me stop with it. I only won 1 time.

  6. I cancelled my subscription because LFG sucks. I have 2 chars over 200 ilvl, max renown but i cant play because LFG just is a bad tool (the current state of the game doesnt help either) if they had soloq id be happy to just play soloq with random comps and enjoy. I know im not good i sit between 1700-1900 and im fine with it but to push i need have specific comps which i dont like id rather it be random (no tanks) and have some enjoyment. Soloq is more toxic in longer forms of game that people can just troll or spam talk in chat to be rude, wows games arent that long so it wouldnt be near as toxic i believe

  7. Agreed, wanting solo q is not saying you want them to remove the current system. you can keep what we have and just add solo q. If you don't like it, stay away from it and keep it old school. preventing it from happening because you don't agree with it is unnecessary and selfish.

  8. soloQ would solve the LFG problem, but it doesn't solve the problem of junk specs/classes. That fury warrior isn't suddenly going to be better because it solo queued, it'll still be subpar, just you can get games easier. But will you win those games? Probably not. So you can get quicker games, and get junk classes/specs in to arena, but will they just quit because they lose anyway because their choice of spec is garbage? Will you get toxicity because the other players don't want to carry a subpar class/spec? Likewise that rogue/hunter that loses in 2s will probably just lose in soloqueue because the chances are they will queue into better comps.

What happens at higher MMRs? Chances are that fury warrior or rogue/hunter combo is not going to reach high MMRs compared to those lucky rogue/mage or arms/healer comps, so any high MMR is still going to be dominated by meta comps most likely. Yeah it's random who you get placed with, but chances are those specs that are bad in 2s are unlikely to climb high MMR.

I don't think it solves all the problems you think it will Stoopzz.

Your 'tinder for wow' is so much better idea imo.

  9. Another awesome video amigo, keep up the good work. Totally agree with the solo que. my work schedule just changed and now I’m up around 2am to 5am and it just sucks trying to find people to play with at that time. If it does happen it would be really cool to have a solo que option to que all dps. Would totally change up the play style and let you have a whole bunch of fun and run into stuff that you just won’t see on the ladder.

Not sure if anyone’s brought this up or not but I think it be cool if they made AB or EotS into capture the hill maps bring it down to like a 7v7 and treat it kind of like call of duty does where once captured you stay dead until after the other team caps it. Or if they just took old maps and did capture the flag on them. Think it be fun to see how an EotS would be as just a capture the flag map. What are your thoughts on this anyone reading?

  10. I've changed my mind after watching your first two videos. No one interacts with each other anymore on WoW and that is because of these LFG systems. I don't see solo queue being any different and could argue that meeting random people one on one could be even more toxic. LFG needs to go away. However, LFG isn't going anywhere. So fuck it, let's add another toxic community destroying LFG system.

  11. Back to your early video I would love it and the reason is dumb but basically sums up to anxiety I'm not great with interacting with people

Also I quit the game awhile back because iv gotten as far as I can as a solo player

And then there is time aspect ontop of that I work full time afternoon shift and have a kid I don't have enough time to look for groups

  12. SoloQ would be ftw. Why is it in all other blizz games you can queue rated as solo but now wow?

You've made some really good points here. I think the next step would be for all the co tent creators to pressure Blizz into making changes like this. Don't see why Blizz resists change so hard when it's for the benefit of the wow community.

  13. I like the idea of solo Q. Brawl stars is another game I play and it’s mostly based on solo Q. If I had to search for members on my own or just have friends already I would never play the game. I like the fast queues. That being said, playing with Randoms like that or without a premade comp can be very sloppy and triggering. But it’s like you said, you get over it and queue up again.

With solo Q you’ll get to see off meta comps and if someone is actually good with their off meta character. It’s really cool to make things work. I’m a new player in WoW (1 month in) and I really love the pvp. If I didn’t have a friend who brought me into rated arenas. I would have just done random bgs and arena skirmishes forever. Just because of the automatic queue feature.

  14. Decided to level an alt and get it geared late in the season. The amount of downtime I'm spending just to get into RBG groups and arena teams is disgusting. I would say I spend probably half my time or more just sitting around waiting for groups to form. And that's IF I can find a group because a lot of groups don't want 2 of the same class, which is hilarious imo at lower CR as if it really matters.

  15. I'd love solo q just to avoid fucking gladiators carrying people in 1600 mmr. They mess with the whole lfg experience in terms of getting out geared. That's one the main points why ppl can't go higher and just stop playing.

  16. My biggest problem is PvP gear. As somone who is returning player and started in january, i have only one friend who also plays with me. He is ret and i play rogue. And we do good, even though its not meta comp for 2v2. But what the fuck am i supposed to do against a team of 220 itlvl when my and my friend are 200 itlvl? When we match against our own gear, we win 90% of the time, but every other game we go against some boosters or smurfs or whatever and many of them suck, but the difference in gear alone is too much to deal with. Just let pvp gear be bought with counqest without needed rating. The deciding factor for high rating should NEVER be gear, but skill. Give those gladiator players some elite skins and stuff like in cata. Dont make gear be bound by rating, because people do get stuck that way. Its really simple fix. Arena wind should give more honor and conquest points, and gear should not be bound by rating. Than people that are actually skilled can actually climb the ladder. Its frustrating that at 1400 rating i see 220itlvl players. Like honestly, what am i supposed to do? Thats like playing a CS GO match and you only have handguns and they have AKs, and even if you are more skilled, you are at a huge disadvantage and yea, sometimes you will win because you are better skilled player, but sometimes you just cant.

  17. I appreciate you making these articulate videos. I think a solo que would help remove the toxicity that's dominated the pvp system for years now. I just want to have fun when playing. I want it to be competitive. I know I'm not as good as I used to be, but LFG is mostly just waiting around. At least with solo I could actually work to improve without the massive LFG cancer and waiting. As you said "LFG IS NOT FINE."
