  1. No one knows what "Endgame content updates" really means, but talking about some potential original scrapped content that would fit well should the Season of Discovery continue to go down the Classic+ route

  2. Classic WoW released in 2019, they've been re-releasing the next classic expansion every few years. We've gotten some seasonal Classic content, they've not alluded to or outright said that a Classic+ type game is going to be developed.

The Classic team has grown, however I don't think Blizzard wants to devote more developer time on making new content for Classic when they can just make seasonal content and the next classic expansion every few years that's printing money for them. They have cosmetics, boosts, and pre-order bonuses on top of people subscribing just to play.

I don't see it happening, it would have been said so by now.

  3. I remember trying to wall-jump into mount hyjal back in tbc (using the compass-addon where if you turned a certain precise direction, you could wall-jump on almost anything). As I was getting closer, I got teleported away from there. When I checked my combat log, the mechanic that teleported me was called "no man's land".

  4. If we go by the idea that Season of Discovery is trying not to retcon anything (instead it being secret and forgotten things that we discover, hence the name), I don't think we'll get the purified Ashbringer. Canonically, the Ashbringer gets purified in the Ashbringer comic, when Darion Mograine (still alive at this point) impales himself on the corrupted ashbringer, freeing all of the souls trapped inside it.

  5. Watching a new madseason Video is like cracking open a cold one with the boys or coming home after a long trip. Not just because of vanilla WoW but because of madseason.

  6. Then: "We want to go back to the good ol' days! Back in classic with the good times and community, just as it was back then!"

Now: "Why won't they do Classic+?! We need all new content and new mechanics… something like an expansion's worth of work but… not an expansion and in the old world instead!"

I think Classic has been 100% overtaken by either "new" players or people who never really cared that much about the classic experience in the first place.
Most who truly gave a damn about the old game dropped out when they released the token and the rest a couple months after wrath. The people who have stayed around and are still playing are those who don't care about changes or a whole lot of anything that blizzard would do to it at this point.

SoD isn't classic. It's basically Retail Lite for mobile. Modern game and modern players wearing a classic skin suit.

  7. the reason why garrisons didnt work and made the world feel empty, was because it was a core gameplay element where you were forced to go and stay if you wanted to progress. instanced player housing i think would work in that regard considering it's optional and (presumably) purely for cosmetic reasons – but it wouldnt work in classic+, it would have had to be implemented in vanilla

  8. Sadly the SoD Devs stated that they would not do anything that was an "alternate" time line or change any future content so anything that was added later wont be changed like Uldum or Grim Batol, but there is still plenty of things to use like Timbermaw hold or Karazahn Crypts.

  9. I don't think player housing would be a good idea but more like an instanced guild hall that is like the factions area in dalaran with portals to main cities

  11. I don't understand, why is it so important that "…only a very few lucky players per server…" get to experience certain parts of the game? That thirst for power and exclusivity is so strong that some will spend 1000s of hours inside this digital fantasy, unable to have much of a life outside of the game…is this achievement so great, that when the servers are turned off you will be remembered for it? Even with the servers active, I look upon you with only pity and sadness…but hey, you got your sword of truth, hopefully, for you, it was worth the cost.

  12. These "unfinished secrets", missing zones, incomplete quest lines, and class quests (Give shamans back their whirlwind axe quest!) are what the players actually wanted for Classic +.

SoD runes are just… awful retail power creep.
