Mcdoubles back again with a brand new video and today I’m going to check out the brand new Oldschool Runescape WORLD OF WARCRAFT private server that will be releasing its CLOSED ALPHA very soon! I’ll be able to play that closed alpha and show you guys some better footage of the game, but for now, in this video I want to go over what we’ve seen so far, let you guys know that I got in to the closed alpha and definitely will be playing it, and talk a little bit about it.

  3. For true nostalgia you have to lead new players into the PvP area convincing them it's a hidden OP grinding spot or something I forget what the classic one was. Also WTB GF?

I think the reason OSRS doesn't quite hit the same notes is that it moved away from the classical roots that inspired it- king arthur, old old school dnd, the little milieu of early pc fantasy text rpgs. I think a big problem with modern fantasy games is that they're kind of inbred, where instead of basing themselves on the classics like arthurian legend, tolkien, or just… history, they copy other pre-existing fantasy ips that are themselves 2 or 3 generations removed from the source material. Like Warcraft is inspired by dnd, which is inspired by tolkien, which is inspired by actual culture like beowulf and the kalevala. And that's kind of why osrs falls into, it's creators aren't inspired by historical culture, but by other fantasy stuff they've seen other people make. I know it's a 'who asked' moment but it's a thought I've been having for a pretty long time.

  21. Heck yeah this is awesome!! Ive been playing runescape since 2004 on and off. On one of my annual binges right now been playing osrs for like 6 hours a day at least for the last month now 😂😂. Thanks for sharing.

    Oh BY THE WAY!!! The gower brothers (creators of runescape) are actually making a new MMO that you definitely want to check out its called brighter shores. Its very similar to runescape looks cool
