I quit DF several months ago out of boredom. Still on the fence with the new expansion, my biggest issue is I have lost faith in the lore and Blizz storytelling.
Think the trinket xalatath has is the heart of azeroth? "Her heart is a void and we have filled it". Maybe that's why apparitions of the past are popping up everywhere. Deposited in the heart by xalatath.
Blizzard know half their players didn't purchase either Shadowlands or Dragonflight, and 1/3 didn't buy BFA… they'll be aware ~1:7 Wrath players plan to continue into Cataclysm as well. I genuinely have no idea what they would have to do to bring those players back, outside of send them copies of the game and make it free to play. They have destroyed their good will so thoroughly over an entire decade, that the recent ~obvious~ push back into China and the children's market (Hearthstone, mobile games, and furries/scaleys) will probably be the only thing that makes $$$.
Part of me can't help but think Dalaran event is another prep for Midnight. They're gonna be remaking that whole Lordaeron area, so refugees rebuilding the old crater would be a good use of that region, especially if player housing is really added and they allowed a non race specific option.

Everything i see for this makes me less and less excited, and i was already at 0 before. Blizz is washed up and won't return.
