Torghast 9.1: How Will Alts Handle It? WoW Shadowlands Feedback

**PTR based feedback, there’s more to be added in later builds**
I give my impressions of Torghast from the perspective of an alt going through it the first time. At the core are my feelings of motivation; is this something I’m going to find fulfilling beyond farming for Soul Ash and Soul Cinders?

  1. A ilvl 220 prot paladin of all things…
Dude, we really love your content, but this test means jack shit for actual alts.
I know this video is about more than just the test itself, but it is the title of it afterall.

  2. I’d like to see a version of torghast for healers to solo where you are challenged to heal a bunch of npc’s instead of players as a new form of a challenge. Or bring back the mage tower as a calendar event as max lvl

  3. Good video, glad to hear your ideas on what you’d like to see. I agree that they haven’t done enough to make torghast interesting enough for you to want to do multiple times a week. If they made it like visions that didn’t have an entry fee but also didn’t drop loot every time i could get behind that. Slowly adding difficulty by going a floor higher or adding a mask (torment) to get more soul ash would be cool. I really really really do not like the fact that some people have been farming soul ash this whole time and now they’re saying you have to get cinders instead. I don’t see why there isn’t universal outrage over it since they’re flipping the bird to all those players. I’m secondhand outraged because I don’t do torghast anymore

  4. this is how i feel Torghast should be fixed and i'll lay it out in steps:

#1: Increase the Floors in Torghast to 12

#2: Increase Soul Ash/Cinder Gains to where you only need to do ONE run a Week

#3: Give Players a Choice of an NPC Companion that would aid the player in a Solo run, whether it be Healer, DPS or Tank. (after all Torghast is full of prisoners and many are trying to fight their way out of it.)

#4: Make The Box of Many Things Benefits account wide

  5. As PjM suggested adding a few things to Torghast would vastly improve the experience: 1. Renown from final boss; 2. Upgradeable Gear either using soul ash or valor; 3. Option to take valor instead of Soul Ash on final boss; 4. Valor or animal from each floor boss ; 5. Access with Threads of Fate for leveling to 60.

Gear could come through a separate Torghast Great Vault. A Torghast Great Vault could have 3 sections of Lower Category (layers 1-6) that drops CN level gear and designs; Middle Category (layers 7-12) that drops Sanctum of Domination gear and Higher Category (Twisting Corridors 1-8) that drops both CN and DoD gear.

  6. Nice video as usual Souls. Out of curiousity do you have a geared DPS character to show instead of your tank? There are a lot more DPS than tanks in the world, and Torghast is much more difficult solo as DPS

  7. absolutely love everything you said here. I'm largely a solo player. It seems like Torghast was designed for me, or at least the way you present it would be. I'd love a gear progression through it, even if that gear topped out at raid heroic while in Torghast and below raid normal outside of it.

Also huge hell yes to leveling 50-60 in it. HUGE.

  8. Spot on with the gearing Soul.
It's something that's been irking me every since M+ dominated the gearing scene. I enjoy "solo" gearing my Alts, but doing so via Covenant campaigns and WQ's is not exactly engaging… I miss LFD.
If players could grind Torghast to "solo gear" their Alts (or their mains), it offers a form of progressions through repeatable content that isn't reliant on premades. Obviously cap the ilvl and/or time gate it to keep the rewards appropriate to the difficulty, but it kills 2 birds with 1 stone. It makes Torghast more rewarding and gives a more enjoyable (IMO) form of catchup gear than WQ's… plus you can run it with friends!

Blizzard did this with Visions… my mind is quite blown that they couldn't see the potential with Torghast.

  9. you are using the carrot and the stick wrong, the carrot refers to a reward which you were correct about, however stick refers to punishment. quite literally it means you reward x for good behavior or punish them for bad behavior.
