For a brand new player though, there is so much content that they don’t necessarily have to do or see, IE TBC or Wrath quest are irrelevant in todays game. Plus if you quest in TBC compared to say Warlords, the questing does feel slower because of the way chain quests differed from back then to more modern time. The goal is to get to max level and play end game content always.
To continue the comparison w/FFXIV, in that game you get to do ALL content on one character, including playing every class AND every profession. WoW is very much the opposite, where you need to have multiple characters just to experience different classes. Not to mention professions and 2 decades worth of content to fart around in. So, I'm not saying either way if I personally would prefer shorter msq, but I do understand why people might want that. Means less time repeating that msq on all their alts.
lol I want longer more story that is also cohesive and very connected and understood….
Story is way more fun than running the same dungeon over and over for gear you’ll never use more than like 150 days max after getting it before it’s useless and the treadmill starts again. Just my 2 cents
If anything. The biggest failing in WoW right now is the fact the stories are always so bad that you want them done faster. If they actually made good stories with a decent leveling experience. I don't think people would be saying that. There is just no faith they can pull it off
Wow used to be a few hours got you a few levels, not a few hours got you ALL the levels. Thing is they also bloated the game to hell and a big chunk of the content simply isn't good or interesting
Retail has no more traditional mmorpg content (cohesively), so much so looking at the picture of the Eiffel tower and be content with it, tho you can only visit the last floor, but most people are content with it, so is there any problem?
Ps. I would play a slower version of the game, where drops are more scarce, and everyone is on the same server (as not many would play it).
its sad when they announced classic and it was the biggest deal in wow in years i thought maybe theyd do a full reset and do a wow2 type thing SOD aint it…..and then they announce 3 xpansions, wont play retail until it has a full reset…ill stick to hardcore

At this point, WoW could never compete with FFXIV concerning MSQ.
