  1. I have played turtle wow in the past, not within the last year, no. I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed what I did, played, and experienced. I also did not really enjoy a few of the things that were missing from retail. I understand classic wow. I understand why people love it, but I also still love playing retail. I wouldnt mind some of that extra being brought to retail, I would mind more of retail being brought to classic, even if just as an optional. I really like both equally, and would love more of a middle ground between the two. I took the official surveys, I spoke my mind about the missing lore. I would love to see those left behind characters come into their own via new storylines in the games. I would love to go back a experience those events from the past games, stories and comics we dont get to experience in retail/classic. I feel them ignoring what players really want from the world lorewise is an extreme ignorance to the players. Id rather tha game chuck this overtuning and mythic rabbling to add more content. More experiences, more story and progression to an already masterclass of a game world. One that is being destroyed by ignorance and micromanagement, an (coughTOXICTYcough) pardon. The World of Warcraft was a supposed to be a new way for the players to experience the World, the world of Warcraft. To be able to forge paths traveled prior by other prominent heroes. To be able to experience or learn the past mistakes that are leading to what future happenings that are to come. I am all for new experiences to happen to WoW, but I and maybe others, would love to be able to experience the events that made the world what it is. What the aftermath of those events were and how it could have affected what is to come. New secrets, past histories, current evens that are going to shape the world to be. We need less tuning and MORE World. Id love to find new stuff in old zones, give them life again, and a reason for existing.

  2. Looks cool, but I am not interested in investing time into something that can be shut down any time due to copyright infringement. These guys, as great as their work is, are making money off of someone elses intellectual property. Big companies do not like that.
Since the counterargument was Nostalrius – Nostalrius got shut down.

  3. I wish I could get my friends to play it cause I really want to try turtle wow. The fact that blizz hasn't already tried to copy it is ridiculous. Tho I had a feeling when they did SoD they were going to go a different rout than turtle wow just to cater to audiences that aren't already attracted to turtle wow.

  4. the release of a 70€ mount alongside a 20year anniversary not only shows me, that blizz is not able to simply do sth. out of passion, it also shows me that the community doesnt have that passion anymore either. they gobble up that mount saying "but this imaginary amount of pixels is cheap for 70€" like absolute madmen. i understand why blizz has become this way, ngl. i wish both blizz and the community could take a big sip of 2004, but you cant unmake 20years i guess

  5. You know what I would really love about classic+, if they add many low level dungeons in many zones. Like lvl 5-9, 11-14. Fighting just some casual mobs like Murloc Cavern, or whatever. So you can group with friends and play, get some nice greens (not too strong) and can just enjoy the occasional trip away from leveling. It would be so much fun and then there will always be enough quests in the world.

  6. So long as things like sharding and design philosophies that prioritizes shortcuts and convenience over social interaction are at the forefront of Blizzard's version of classic, I'm gonna pass and stick to turtle

  7. blizzard cannot even dream to come close to what turtle is doing purely bc one game is made with love, passion, and dedication, whereas the other is souless-ly made to sell a game and its' subscription.

  8. Honestly.. i think it would be cool to see new zones/classes/raids/ whatever, but only with the original graphics and all that.

Also… can't Blizz just shut down Turtle WoW like they did Nost?

  9. I've been playing this series since Warcraft 2, I'm a day one WoW player, and I prefer the Classic experience. I've never played Turtle WoW, but want to. (I play on Mac and PC has been down since learning about Turtle WoW) I agree – I like the changes that they've made. I liked the beginning of SOD but think they went too far into Retail-like territory and they took too much from the expansion packs. For example, ability acquisition should come from talent trees and class quests, not Rune discoveries in open world. Would love more leveling and quest content, class and race content, and end game content beyond Naxx. I think SoD is losing steam because they added too much retail design in, didn't add enough new stuff through leveling, and they're taking too long. Phase 6 not having any new content or raids is bizarre. I eagerly await an official Blizzard Classic+ but don't think they have the talent to do it right. I think they could be very successful including things from SOD and Turtle WoW in addition to new things that the community has been suggesting for years. New leveling zones, new races (could do what Turtle does with Goblins/High Elves, but also Ogres for Horde, maybe Worgen for Alliance) Alternatively, it's a pipe dream but imagine Classic+ being a brand new classic like game set on Draenor following the original timeline & lore, but with old style assets, graphics and design, like WoD should have been!

  10. I heard only praise about Turtle WoW, so I decided to give it a try today. After entering world I had to tweak some graphics and interface settings. After individually going through every setting 5 times without being able to find checkbox for autoloot, I turned it off and deleted it from PC. If the game cannot have this simple option by default, then I'm gonna encounter many more problems down the road.

  11. Community is healthy, friendly, participates to throw out bots (moos) and is heard. Many want to enjoy the journey slowly with other likeminded players. It comes from us players too. Myself included.
When I'm in retail I play solo, only questing for new content, then leave. No one to talk to there. Most are grinding, I can't, so staying in my bubble. Grinding after max lvl feels to me the real waste of time. On turtle, I was playing daily, even for 15 min, will just do a quest, 10 quests, or even 1/2, who cares to rush? Will help a guildy, send mail, see what others are up to. And I have my daily wow dose. No toon reached 60 yet and I have had more meaningful time in the world. Reminding me of real classic. People and fun matter more than excellence and hording things.
Missing the turtle spirit . Will come asap after finishing new retail content. Cheers to the turtle team and community. Thanks Nixxiom.

  12. When I think "Classic +" I want alternative expansions. Things that never happened.

What if the Titans had continued to kill the old Gods and Azeroth started to actually die and wither, the Burning Legion paid no attention and we had to flee to other worlds and fight the Burning Legion there with new Old Gods?

What if Uther chased after Arthas and gave himself to the sword to save Arthas. Jaina and Arthas leading a campaign against an alternative Lich King?

What if the dragonflights died out and we got new elemental Gods vying over power, usurping the old ones, some bargaining with the player's aid and some being incredibly hostile?

What if G'hunn grew in power and escaped Uldir, turning the Old Gods into undead? What if Sargeras became afflicted and the burning legion became the "Legion of Deacay" or something?

What if the Jailor was usurped by that vampire guy and corrupted the emerald dream, becoming the Ruby Dream or something? What if he got a LOT more powerful and ruled the Shadowlands?

Be my ideas terrible or not, this scale is what I want. Alternative, meaningful, expansions! Not runes and a few dungeons being made into old-school style raids…
