According to their own statements on story development, not only will Metzen not have had any influence until midnight or last titan even depending on where the story is, he also would have had some involvement in shadowlands. So people can’t have it both ways. Either Metzen is a messiah and shadowlands was fine or him returning is terrible and so was shadowlands.
Ion needs to be put back to just being lead encounter designer. BfA and SL were under his watch and the damage they did, on top of the continued stubbornness about static flying.
in about a week my gear will be maxed and from there i'll be working on getting the cosmetics, all the while farming Thread Spools for more power. my endgame is to Solo Mythic SoO at some point and at current i can Solo Normal MSV with ease.
if i had anything to gripe about, i hate that Speed is capped at 49%, i wanted to move around at 255% Move Speed like Druids do.
I think content in DF came out a little too fast towards the end. I couldn't really enjoy all the other parts of WoW or Blizzard games like before. I also think 3 solid raids is too few. I would have liked one more raid between Abberus and Amerdrassil. I think the systems it introduced have mostly be wins: Talent trees, Crafting system, Upgrades, better catalyst, etc, and expect those same systems to be improved in TWW. 8/10 will defo go down in WoW history as a top 3 expansion in five years
I agree with Katzicael…. Dragonflight was a redeemer from the flop that was Shadow Lands….. and with Chris Metzen steering the Story as the Executive Creative Director that means it will align with the Lore of Warcraft as a whole in the grander scheme.
Dragonflight was great my main issue with it was lack of choice for reputation. I would love to see it change in the future that we don't have to do things like world quests or events to get reputation and can do the activities we prefer to do. I think if blizzard feel the need to time gate just put caps on reputations. A weekly rep cap for each factions but being able to do it any way you prefer is just better imo. In dragonflight I never maxed out a single rep except for dreamwalkers, because I simply just am not into content like world quests. The addition of delves could solve this issue.
That being said most of DF was really good I enjoyed the raids. The professions were a bit crap, but the improvements made in TWW seem to alleviate some of the issues with it and will allow people who are not no lifers to actually be able to make some max level gear for people and I think that's important to stave off some of the ridiculous prices people were charging.
I think overall DF was really good as a foundation, I don't personally prefer the item upgrade system I think it takes away even more from the good feels you get from getting a new piece of gear but i also like the benefits it comes with where you can always feel like you're progressing as long as you are doing power relevant content which is better than the old days of having to spam dungeons until you get the next ilvl upgrade to drop.
I was always going to play MoP Remix to replay the narrative quests I missed the first time through. I hope the Bronze buff effects the quest rewards.
will the token drops for tier in BC and vanilla be warband wide? If the mage token or mage piece drops on my warrior can is till get it?
DF was great but S4 is not acceptable. Dont reuse content feels lazy.
ding
My opinion of Dragonflight overall… was good.
I really enjoyed the story.
Dungeons and design were great, never tried mythic, never will so, I am guessing that they were fine.
Going back to the talent tree was good but I feel like this is going to be short lived again…
the new hero talents is a testament to how difficult this will be going forward, so some uneasiness on the horizon.
Zones looked great, Dragonriding was amazing.
Negatives: The crest system… felt tedious. You would get to the end of a section (like Vet 8/8) and be stuck until a champion piece happened to drop.
I hated the new crafting mechanics that made me truly feel like it was useless, for the first time ever.
Season 4 was a complete waste of time. They put the remix in which completely distracted me from play any of the S4 content, which was all rehashed stuff anyway.
Hate the new heroic being far more difficult. The jump was too much for us hard core world players / solo'ists. Felt punishing.
Thank you for reading.
Other than the debacle that was professions, Dragonflight was AWESOME! It is obvious to the casual observer that the professions dev team missed all the game philosophy meetings that made Dragonflight the success that it was! The professions dev team’s clinging to the toxicity that is hazing should have led to many HR movements, but perhaps if influencers weren’t so heady to support a game style that requires massive time commitment and exclusivity frameworks, the War Within changes would have been more robust.
Eh, I'm done with Remix. It was fun and I'm glad Blizz did something so different, but I got any skins/mounts I wanted and leveled more 70s than I need. I returned to retail and am enjoying my time much more.
You joke about player housing, but I honestly believe Metzen telling us “it’s time to come home”, was a little nibble of what’s to come. Warbands imo are the first steps, I wouldn’t be surprised to see if your home city house has your other favorite warband members chilling out in these player houses. I think it would be cool if you could flip from one character to another that resides in your player house, not requiring you to log out and back in. The last bit maybe a stretch, but there are a lot of signs warbands are unifying your account for something bigger.
I honestly loved dragon flight the storyline was kinda janky..the currency update was a little wild..the professions were..not enjoyable..I'm looking forward to tww..where it seems they have smoothed everything out ..
You're mentioning heroic dungeons on the first two weeks of the expansion but it says heroic dungeons queues open with season 1 (since it's basically old m0) so won't we farm only normal mode for two weeks? (Which sounds so boring lol)
I enjoyed this expansion. But not the proffession part. As an altoholic, the need for renown to open recipes sucked. I despise that.
if i can wear my warlord title on all of my characters and not just warrior that would be swell.
Wow won't be in good hands till the shareholders are gone
Drago flight is a good base but it really lacks content, there isnt much to do… to farn.. no cool stuff or rewards much.. that need to be improved in WW
Story wise: Dragonflight both impressed and disappointed me. No real middle ground, just one or the other.
Gameplay: It felt extremely refreshing with the new experimental team (Plunderstorm which was personally not my thing as well as MoP Remix which has been a blast), new flying, better professions, etc.
Lore for me is extremely important and I really want to find out for myself.
I've tried avoiding spoilers even though I've seen a few, but I'm really afraid that once the Early Access starts that "Unprofessional" players will start spoiling stuff without tagging it as a spoiler.
More fun police bs.
better than shadowlands xd
Is anything happening with garrisons with warbands coming?
Will it only be 4 on the login screen or is that just pre and they plan on expanding it or are they still figuring it out?
Have taken advantage of it to basically make new max level characters with new names
Remix was a ton of fun but at the point where I am ready to go back to retail. That has been hard as hell. Underpowered and move so slow. The lack of haste has my rotations all messed up also. Being fully upgraded in remix is a blast though.
I’m loving remix. I have 3 sitting in inns at various stages but hoping to get them to level 60 at least before it goes away.
Radical leftist propaganda in the game quit me playing after 14 years. No immersion, orcs in gay outfit. No thank you.
I don't think Holly is the right person. She is good at kind of shepherding existing roadmap but do not see her has a real creative, innovative story leader. Assuming Metzen wants to stay in the shadows, Ian may want to step up and can put his fingerprint on the franchise. If it's none of these people, then bring in new blood. From outside Blizzard AND Microsoft. Storytelling background is a must for the role.
I never thought i would care about raiding or item levels in Remix, but i am having so much fun doing exact that. It is so great to have the gearing end goal in sight and also possible to accomplish without stupid ammount of RNG. It is so fun testing out different rotations seeing how it impact my DPS placement. Now i am considering SoO mythic even 😅
