  1. I still think that Blizzard will not cut the end of Shadowlands, I think they have cut the start. Look at 9.1. What happens in the first few hours. Tyrande Story ends, jailor gets all sigils except one, new sigils are made, Kyrian make peace with Forsworn and and and…… the very obviously have cut the planned 9.1 and integrated this lore in the planed 9.2.
So we get the combined lore of 9.1 and 9.2 as 9.1 and the planned 9.3 as 9.2. In 9.2 the Jailor will reach the sepulchor and there SL will end.

  2. I actually think we’ll get 9.2 and possibly 9.3. They’re going to do something with Arthas for sure. Won’t happening in 9.1 though so to keep from butchering his story, they can’t just cut things and punt. If they do, it’s game over.

  3. You view this raid as seeming like it belongs and 9.3 because you perceive his prison as his throne we are raiding his prison I guarantee you we have yet to see where he truly comes from

  4. I'll probably come back for a month just to try 9.1 out, but my days of continuously playing are over. I'm sure Blizzard knows they can't afford to cut yet another xpac short again, but that fear does still linger because they seem literally incapable of learning from their fucking mistakes. I'm sure we're going to get a 9.2 at least, but I honestly have no clue where the story goes from here. This new raid legit feel like it's the last raid of the xpac, because just so much is happening. I'd be fine with xpac being more than 2 years, if it means the full story is properly told & the game is fun to play. But to compensate for that and to keep people engaged, they need to come out with smaller content patches more frequently. From what I've heard, and including myself, a TON of people have left because of this 7 month content gap. If we're forced to pay full retail price for each xpac, plus an additional monthly fee just to play, then we shouldn't be going over half a year without anything new. That's just unacceptable. Covid isn't an excuse, because this has been a creeping problem for years now. Plus, it's been a year & a half now, and they should have figured out how to adapt like almost every other company by now.

  5. Honestly man, fuck it. I hope that "time" resets the world to where it was in vanilla, and they revamp the original raids and dungeons, etc. after The Sanctum of Domination. This dev team is obviously struggling to continue with what they were given to work with, maybe they need to start somewhere with their own ideas, from the beginning. Give us back spirit, resilience hit rating, etc., and let the devs write their own path. Maybe we can even retain the knowledge we have from the future to influence the past?

  6. There's no law saying the next expansion has to be 2 years from last, there's a better chance of more 1-2 huge patches and a longer expansion (blaming covid) then there is of a rushed finish.

  7. looking at blizzard's pathetic situation and their very lazy response to all their mess ups, i believe the story won't be different, i bet it will be a silly plot where we just go beat up big baddy jailer and become the champions of legends as always.

  8. can confirm with final fantasy even skipping most quest dialogue early on just trying to level i still had a good idea what was going on story wise

the game also warns you when major lore cutscenes are gonna happen and warns ya not to skip

  9. as to if were gonna get another wod nah wod HAD redeeming factors at the bare minimum

however ya were not gonna get 9.3 theirs just no time no way blizz devotes dev time to it for 4-6 months of content before 10.0

  10. I agree: the lore in WoW is phenomenal. However, and yes again, they deliver it in a bad, bad way. In a way that encourages players to ignore the lore, to omid it. I heard something of 30+% of WoW players who bother with reading questtext – and I'd guess only half of them bother with reading any of the books. So, yes, Blizz pretty much deservs to be trashtalked here because they ignored their own lore over years. And suddenly they want to take it slow? Honestly, I'll have to see it before I believe it…
As for the end of Shadowlands… Even in BfA the end wasnt set in stone from the beginning and I can imagine Blizz pulling off some 180degree-turn in their story sofar. No idea what could be, maybe the Maldraxxus wakes up, maybe Elune picks up Sargeras' sword to go to battle with the Jailor… I have no idea. But on the other hand, I was so disappointed with the last years of content in WoW I dont really care whether they pull something cool off or not… I loved that game's lore, it was the reason I stayed, the reason I was really passionate about it, and what they made of it… I'm not saying it isnt cool at some point but overall, no, sir, I'm buying anymore -.-

  11. I’m amazed I’m playing tbc and not retail. I literally never thought I’d see a day where I’m not playing retail when I want to. It’s just such a bad game. Tbc has its flaws but I’m having a lot of fun now for the time being. The retail story is so good though like omg

  12. I talked about this personally back in Warlord of Draenor but I hope they do an "Xmen Timeline Reset" type of thing where they just start over and bring all the cool people they killed off back to life. Kind of like how Dragon Ball Super also ended up deleting an entire Universe just to put everyone from 1 to the other

  13. Maplestory has been around for a good while now, longer than WoW and we've never had an expansion for it. Patches yes, but they've figured out how to keep people with only patches. Maybe WoW would benefit from a simular thing. Less stress on the content releases too.

  14. I don't think we will get a 9.2/9.3. They knee-jerked the patch date the day after asmongold tweeted that he would try final fantasy 14, right along with alot of the major youtube WoW content creators that aren't super lore heavy creators. This patch is most likely being pushed out before its in a polished for release state. All these contrived systems are taking away from the actual fun of playing the game as a raider, just simply due to the mandatory farming that has never once been a mandatory farm. (herbs and buff food gathering not being a part of this, this was an integral part of being raid ready, but the world quest dailies, freaking torgasht was fun until they made it mandatory part of the daily quests) Activison Blizzard's WoW Dev Team no longer cares what us the community think or want in the game, nor do they care for how we the people who pay for their game to even be funded to be made by all our subs and cash shop purchases, actually want to play the game. They are at a point they could go back to the ORIGINAL talent tree system, since they didnt want to keep making new talents past level 85 in cata, and us the players would go back to being able to customize/hybridize our talent trees and thus our character's playstyle (frost fire mage, arcane frost mage, blood unholy death knight, etc. for the newer players who have only experienced this in Classic) especially if they want our new max level to stay at level 60 from now on.

  15. Y'all shitting on wod, only casual fans want the story to be told predominantly in game. Buy books, read, get off your PC, watch the animated shorts. Take it all in. Wod was amazing as far as lore.

  16. I want Thrall to make a heavy comeback but somehow I feel like his full story really ended with Garrosh and that he's about to sadly make his exit. But Thrall has always been my favorite character though as a Horde player, Anduin and Varian really grew on me

  17. A small intro. I stopped caring about lore around the Cata time and how some story elements were twisted there. But then as I found your channel, the community effort to figure out stuff made me interesting in the story again, and try to participate in all of that. After the leadership in the narrative team changed, I was willing to give a shot to the story take from the current narrative team. And what I see there, is that Afrasiabi does not look like a problem anymore. The same stuff is seen here.

As I look at how the story unfolds, the main thing I see is how retcon-happy the current team is, and how they alter the story even sometimes contradicting the 9.0 stuff, that my reaction is "why should I even care? Nothing I find has meaning, because it can be retconned whenever, for reasons™". It goes too broad, too fast, there is too little time to become familiar with the characters and places, to care about the stuff. The story is too cagey with rather weak pay offs comparatively to how much emphasis there is on the "plot twists" and big "reveals".

It's fun to chat with the community, be it in your discord or forums. It's interesting to watch your videos and occasionaly visit your streams. But when it comes to the game itself, including the lore, I have a morbid feeling. Currently the blizz game with the best reputation is D2 remaster. And it's not made by blizzard. (technically it's branded that way) So, did we get to the point, where to get a good story we need somebody from the top management to do with the narrative team the same thing that was done to the W3 reforged team? Everyone can decide to themselves.

To me it did. I honestly think that the game failing so much so that a part of the dev team would be outright replaced sounds like a potentially good idea. But it's just me. I tried the current flavour of lore, and what community makes out of it is vastly superior to the mess I see in the game.

  18. Who cares about good writers tryna write something that havent allready happent before in a quest or altnative storyline. Why'd they take their time over the course of 4 years when its the expansion titles they put a price-tag on? Man the ship has sailed and has been since wotlk.
