  1. "I've always played without addons. I've never installed a single one. Often, I wasn't taken along for raids because of that. Players who considered themselves pro gamers would say that this or that boss couldn't be defeated without addons. I never understood that, as everything was always displayed even without addons. Many attacks were even announced by the boss themselves. Large red text adorned the screen. Why would you need an addon for that?

That's why I'm not interested in those World First races. They can't defeat a single boss without their numerous addons telling them where they need to be and when.

All those addons basically just utilize the data that is already displayed during the fight, meaning if you engage your brain and pay attention, it works without them too.

And then there are these endless dick-measuring addons. DPS meters and so on. The game stops being fun that way. Where's the sense of achievement if I'm practically carried through the raid thanks to numerous addons?

I've always played without addons and will continue to do so. Even if the self-proclaimed pros call me a noob for it. For me, the others are the noobs who can't do anything without addons.

Now there's even a damn addon that tells you when you're flying fast enough to build up momentum while dragon flying. Seriously? I can do that without an addon too, but YouTubers recommend this addon as a 'must-have'. Blizzard really should just ban all addons. Every single one. Let's see who can still manage a raid without DBM and and so on…"

  2. my dude! you had me until 2:30. Overall i agree with you, but oversimplifying content as you suggest also discriminates against many many people who want a challenge. Fights can be hard. Mechanics can be hard but the fights should not be 30 minutes long. You either don't get the mechanic and wipe in the first 10 seconds or you get them and finish it within reasonable time.

  3. I am going to laugh so hard when I am inevitably proven right about all of the stuff I have said pertaining to metaphysics is proven true and manifests in the physical. I can't stand this world. Innocent women & children getting blown up, famine, disease, grape, murder, etc. No sane person should STAND this world, and should do something about it especially those who know what has to be done and have the power to do so. I'm glad that I searched for the ultimate end because I know the ultimate truth — transfiguration of ourselves into our 5th dimension vessel. Why are so many people obsessed with furries? I have the answer, they ARE furries in the 5th dimension. There is more than just furries though, there are demonkin (benevolent tieflings from DnD), next humans, featherfolk, scalies, dragonkin etc. Many people will think that I am looney toons, but I have done extremely deep meditation for years on end listening to 528hz DNA binaural beats. I no longer want psychedelics as I have gleaned everything that they have to offer. I stopped using all cannabis a year ago. I no longer do anything but ascend.

  4. You make a lot of valid points. This is why SoD is so much fun, compared to the shit storm of retail. Also all of the addons that basically display your power level from the get go, is a huge turn off for new players.

  5. Someone watched asmongolds take. The issue isn't so much addons, it's what addons can do, namely weakauras & macros together. We've had DBM for YEARS like literally almost as long as WoW has existed. DBM isn't the issue. DBM still does the same stuff it always has & bosses were plenty difficult. Blizzard has reeled in/stopped addons from doing stuff in the past they just have to man up & reel in weakauras.

  6. "There are no new people" … Imagine doing no research and screaming into the void.

    First time wow players:

I could go on for pages like this. Different sorts of kinds of people, every version of the game. However, any tenured player saying they speak for new player concerns is talking shit. If you watch these people, you'll see they don't care about a single thing the metagamers do… Because they're new. Their biggest concern is being forced to level thru BFA.

  7. I’m 30 years old. I’ve played wow for about 18 years I stopped playing about 9 months ago and I really don’t wanna come back to the game because I don’t want to have to download and configure so many complicated addons. The UI is just filled with shit everywhere and LUA errors. This makes the barrier to entry for anybody new impossible. Imagine getting a new friend to play arenas with you. Oh you have to download these 17 addons to know what’s happening ..

  8. Sounds like you're playing the wrong game. I have a ton of new players in their teens and early twenties in my heroic and mythic raids. Nobody wants to play with whiny people making vids like these.

  9. i've been playing this stupid game long enough to remember that all u needed was DBM, and a select few class related addons and ur good to go. (I'm an OG my guild cleared everything on Vanilla minus NAXX) All i had was DBM, and necrosis lmfao

    Fast forward to modern wow….

My retail setup has addons on addons on addons because the other addon doesn't give me what i need so i overlay them carefully to have a clean UI. Let's not get into my ARENA setup that's another can of worms.

If i don't use this setup of addons i get cooked.
Retail needs to DUMP addon support at the API level. restrict calling any fucking thing hahah.

In SOD: Im running stock UI with gatherer and questie (good to haves but not required at all)

  10. When I actually played WoW I never used addons, because they're for pussies. If you wanna autowin fights, use addons, if you want to be a skilled player don't use em.

  11. addons can be an issue, but also I don't think there should be such a high barrier to entry (elitism) for the game/content.

LFR-Heroic Raid Bosses should be nerfed, then cap all progress drops/armor at Heroric. Then for Mythic have legendaries/aotc rewards drop thats all cosmetic.
Also there shouldn't be a need to watch a 30 min video to see every Raid Mechanic; the game should provide enough info. Raids should even drop in size maybe 10 man should be the base Raid without trash mobs, let everyone queue up for the fights and have it in sets of 3 and there are 9 bosses each Raid Teir; For RWF have a seperate Server and let guilds sign in for it and its has seperate difficulty (Mythic+ Affixes).

For M+ cap at +25 but gear cap is +18 stop the multiple skips with keys and allow players to learn every Dungeon like they didn't play every expansion previously, no key should jump from +1 to +17 in 8 runs. Also don't make keystones random, alllow anyone to run any Dungeon on their 1 Key and alwow a selection of keystone level up to your current level (If I don't feel good to run a +15 Everblooom because that was my new key let me try to run a +10 first without hoping a group takes my non meta spec).

Honestly with some backend tweaks they could keep addons and change the need for them from the community… Personally love the Visual items of some addons like Elv Ui and Luxthos WA that have kept me playing the game.

  12. it's just casuals are ruining wow remixed for the 100000x yall wow content creators don't get tired of being wrong huh?

what's worse is blizzard is still listening to content creators even more now ( especially recently with trying to rebuild their image) scary times for casual players.

  14. yeah, how about no. just because you've played the game since 2004 and you know everything and don't need addons, it doesn't mean that everyone else is the same opinion with you. if u don't like addons, don't use them, it's simple as that. also irony of you saying to remove addons while you're having details on your screen. and one comment on "making fights easy" they're already easy, just don't stand in shit on the floor.

  15. i agree with you they should remove the addons, one thing tho, 99.9% of the so called "badass elite players" in this game will sudenly become trash, retail players cannot play without addons, they will suck hard at pve and will suck even more in pvp

  16. Blizzard's too focused on turning women into fruit and writing woke expansion endings. They took a look at the addon problem but decided to leave it the way it is. They are literally so disconnected from the playerbase that they don't understand basic things like "i have to install weakaura scripts in my interface folder because all the shit on the ground looks the same" is a problem. They don't understand why playing whack-a-mole with cooldowns and shiny buttons isn't a problem. They don't understand how three literal rows of abilities with none of them being fluff is a problem.

It's becoming more obvious that Blizzard would rather save face in the media than take the game seriously. Fuck this company and everything it stands for. A Blizzard logo on a product has turned from a seal of quality into a yield sign that I might wanna take some caution with it and I think that's sad.

  17. if i am right the addon you are talking about is WCLRankingTooltip and it was banded. i can care less on who looks me up i play at my pace at the age of 50 and DGAF i made a guild and invited players that sucked and now we all suck together Addons are not the problem the problem is the person behind the keyboard judging addon is the same as warcraftlogs they can still see we suck in fact Warcraftlogs is the one that banned the addon as they where using Warcraftlogd API

  18. As someone that is relatively new to the game cus my entire childhood and student time I was too poor to afford playing WoW :') Still in my 30s though so that's probably why. I learned to hate my life enough to give wow a chance. I only still hop in it whenever my friends do and when it comes to addons I flatout just ask them to screenshot theirs and I go down the list on the mod thingy lmfao you know the annoying one that runs through overwolf now I keep forgetting its name. Wouldn't hurt a soul to have a decent modloader either to be very honest here…
