World of Warcraft Shadowlands – It's Alright So Far

Read more about Shadowlands ➜ https://worldofwarcraft.mgn.tv

This is the least important video I think I’ve ever made and literally serves one purpose and that is to just link to people asking “is it worth buying”. Yeah, sort of. If you like retail wow it’s probably just the same thing you’ve already enjoyed. It’s not really all that deep just yet, maybe the new raid sucks or gearing is a pain but so far it’s just…Alright, business as usual. Slightly less annoying stuff thus far. Population is banging.

  2. Very neutral "review" – came back after a 6 year break and started a couple of weeks before SL was release… can't say that BFA was the worst addon…. also I only experienced a very short time of it where everything was already highly tuned.
And I gotta admit SL is quite refreshing… but first to the leveling part in general they made the whole leveling exp, especially for alts with that chromie thing quite AWESOME, enjoyed it a lot!
SL leveling in the new zones is quite tedious in the beginning, but it gets better AFTER Bastion … luckily! ;D
After being done with the mandatory part, following the campaign in order to choose your covenant, you can do WHATEVER you want!
Overall WoW has not been revolutionized, but I am really having fun… dungeons are tough and very fun, haven't had that in a long time! (already did 3 mythics with my 145 ilvl mage… and it is very much doable! rest of the group members were 140-160, with the healer being 160 and the tank 140 :P)
It is all about community and playing together and not just rushing into things… take your time, play it right and you are good…. can't say much more than that, but leveling was overall quite nice and fast… took me easily around 10-12h to hit 60, but it was a nice way of leveling, you were following a certain path, but you are doing this only ONCE (also LUCKILY! ;D could not endure that with another char let alone more than twice)!

Overall… ofc it is worth the money… even if you are just playing once or twice a WEEK or even 2-3h a day tops… as long as you have a reason to login and have fun… it is worth it! 🙂
Also… this is my first early expression ;D maybe it will change in a few weeks or month for the better or worse, we will see

  3. I and a friend switched to Silvermoon Alliance for Shadowlands (to change things up a bit). We are both looking for a guild to join in on the fun of raiding and such. What's the name of the guild?

  4. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Subscription based, elitist raiding treadmills from 16 years ago don't deserve it.

Any game that uses its playerbase of millions to finance a niche sub-corner of vintage mmo design for the top 1%ers can suck a fat one.

I got tired of paying full price for table scraps like 10 years ago already and they havnt changed course since. So nope.

Burning through story in a week and then sitting idle in a capital city so you can raid once a week isn't an mmo. It's a lobby based raid grinder.

Competitive instancing is the antithesis of what an mmo should be about.

  5. It's meh. I like WoW, I like playing my class. But it's not really that engaging compared to previous expansions. It's good that they stopped with the handholding (Pandaria) and brought back some PvP incentive, but overall there's just so little changed from BFA it could have been a QoL patch and I wouldn't have noticed much else.
The level squish is nice, but leveling in WoW is still tedious anyways and it's still "grind to max, then play the game."
Idk, PSO2 has better gameplay, community, and events. WoW feels like I have to play a loading bar until I actually get to play the game….which is more loading bars.

  6. I'm glad I got over my WoW addiction 🙂 I keep trying it every new expansion but it's just not for me anymore.
SIlvermoon!!! Rings a bell. I think it was one of my main servers. Shame! We could've hung out.

  7. I played WoW from TBC to MoP pretty heavily. WoD, Legion, BFA I played launch and quit before the .1 patch so 2mnths or so..? I recently played Classic for 12mnths. I bought SL, we'll see how long it holds me for.

  8. Last expansion I checked out was WoD. That lasted about a month. That's when I finally gave the game up for good. Had played since vanilla. The past couple years of questionable actions by Blizzard have just solidified my "never going back" decision.

  9. For me Wow story is pretty much done and that killed this mmo for me. We defeated a world destroying dragon, bested every other foe… this unique feeling of adventure is gone. Shame

  10. I love the leveling process and always have. Hate RNG though, so endgame gearing is a paaaaain. Also since my timezone is +9 UTC, I rarely get to raid on my NA servers. So while I love WOW, I am still gonna play super casual 😀

  11. What about the grind? I would love the dungeon crawler and battleground parts of the game if the progression systems weren't so stupid. Each expansion I really enjoy every single dungeon and raid I'm around to go through but since Cataclysm gearing up went from grindy but enjoyable to absolutely reetarded and it keeps getting worse and I haven't played for more than a month since end of WotLK because of this

  12. Thank you! Finally "doing the same like you did for the past 10 years!"
WOW is not a good game – It WAS a good game 10 years ago, since the 2010 you are repeating the same stuff over and over again with mediocre story and outdated combat system. Quests are literally kill that give that kill that and … give that. Addons makes me play with my fcking feet if I want to…

WoW $ubscriber$ – now you can dislike my comment.

  13. That's probably the best answer you could give. A lot of people had expectations for something that was just never going to happen. I see people trying to compare SL to Classic in attempts to convince themselves and their friends to go back to retail, but the games couldn't be any more different from each other.

  14. Is it worth buying is just a silly question to ask ….. how does anyone know what anyone else wants or expects out of product X …… It's WoW you go to X and kill Y because some NPC tells you to …. if you're expecting it to be something different …… Why? I haven't seen them boast about radically changing their game.

  15. The issue for me is that Cyberpunk comes out in 2 weeks and I'm 100% sure I'll put everything else on hold to play the shit out of that game. No matter how much I love WoW, the thought of having to pay full price + sub to only play for less than 2 weeks is painful lol

  16. My gripe with BFA was the necklace gating bullshit. I often ran Mythic dungeons and got gear that was wildly better but with the passives locked because the necklace was low, it was shit.
Look, I just really, really enjoy group content. Dungeons and such. Why make me do chores on the repeating world quests to get to wear what I earned in a dungeon? Maybe I over-reacted, maybe it wasn't "that BIG of a chore" but I value my time more than doing something I hate to do a little of something I like.
