Like both of these games. Guild Wars 2 is better. I will always play classic wow tho
Man I love the way wow looks. The gear just looks so bad ass and that’s a huge part of the game for me. I can’t get past gw2 ugly art style. It looks so dated and old. Idk lol
Being able to buy wow gold and buying instant level boosts completely killed WOW for me. Also the carrot on a stick for new items has becoming a joke.
You should give FF14 a try , too! I've enjoyed so much of my free time playing it
I quit WoW a few months ago, mostly because I stopped playing shortly after Dragonflight came out (I was very sick and couldn't bring myself to sit at my computer for longer than 15 minutes at a time) and I felt like I was behind on everything when I came back… Only to find that it only looked like I was behind, in reality, I barely missed anything. The new features where just too shiny and distracting. Since then, I ended up hanging up my hat with WoW about three months ago now. Right now, I simply don't have the mindset for it. It feels more about tiny progression verses a grand adventure like it used to. Right now, I bounce between Guild Wars 2 and SWTOR when I feel the itch to play an MMORPG, and I must say, I'm really enjoying playing these games that I missed out over the years, because I was in my WoW Only Blind Mode.
Unsubbed
1 I'm gonna drop one of these games
2 What I LIKED the most in WoW WAS
3 I LOOK FORWARD to trying challenge strikes.
Oh! Oh! I know the answer to this one!!
Good choice.
Yo, You should try playing WOW Classic Era, no problem of stuff grinding 😉
you just gave the warlock the healing symbol
OBVIOUSLY it's wow you should quit since you need to pay continuously just to play this outdated game lol. In guild wars 2 you just need to buy expansion and you're good to go for lifetime you can play this game without any monthly crazy subscription, and on top of that you can get flying mounts just for playing the game and spending a few bucks.
This video could've been 5 minutes and it would've delivered the exact same points.
Can you play guild wars 2 on a controller?
I'm playing Guild Wars 2 since pre-release (25.08.2012) only with less breaks because of education, job or illness. Additional to your video I want to clear out, that GW2 isn't as time eating as other MMOs. It depents how your own playstyle is. The new expansion "Secrets of the Obscure" alias SotO as example is not that huge as the other three expansions. So there are many players who are rushing through the content before they start to complain there was to less stuff to do. But me, usually working 40h + arround 12h commuting per week, playing the game more slowly. In the less time i have left next to my other bothering stuff like tidying up my flat and so on. I'm enjoying the game, doing the stuff I can do in this time and my personal speed. Sometimes I'm just standing in one of the cities and have fun of chatting with others. Or I'm crafting stuff whole day long to sell it at the tradingpost at the end of the day. You see, I'm far away from a tryhard, but I still have a bunch of legendary weapons, one heavy-set of legendary armor and other qol-stuff (you don't really need, but it's nice to have).
I really can recommend to buy this package of the core game (f2p has limitations) + the first two expansions for the 30 € you can see @19:19. Between the expansions there is some "filler" content named living world. Since the game has a transfer system which allows you to change gold to gems, which is the currency for the credit shop of the game, I higly recommend to farm this gold to save a lot of money for this living world content. The credit shop gives you next to this content upgrades a lot of cosmetic stuff. GW2 hasn't really a problem with pay to win. Only when your playstyle includes the so called "fashion wars" hehe 😀
When there are any other questions, don't hesitate and ask me anytime here or ingame.

I played WoW since just before TBC, and through MoP, but less and less, until classic where I dived straight back in. I quit WoW after starting GW2, and while I miss WoW immensely, I really missed WoW already before quitting it, because I missed the old days. There's not much WoW does better than GW2 for me, except that one thing that you really get comfortable with an area, like Westfall or Duskwood, and it sets a certain mood, which is difficult in GW2 because you jump from area to area too easily. However, this getting to know an area came mostly from having to run back and forth for quests a hundred times and it took ages, which simply does not fly anymore, nobody can be arsed to do that. Some of the last times I logged into classic I logged out again. It's simply too cumbersome. And the way they have solved that problem is to make things ridiculously easy or absurdly illogical.
GW2!!!
It isn't surprising that WoW gets tons of views. Lowest common denominator backed by at least two generations of people with Stockholm syndrome.
GW2 is far superior to WoW in every single way.
GW2 for the win in my books. Real life respect with horizontal progression. No gear grind. Alt Friendly. Don't have to fight over loot. No monthly cost.
The combat in GW2 is so much better it's not even close…the speed and reaction time are super high ceiling…also, there are a few different professions or specializations that have access to far more skills than the basic 2 weapon set rotation, so you can easily have 25-35 unique spells to utilize for those that really want to feel like they're playing a piano in game.
It definitely depends on what you want from a game, and there are times I wish the questing system was a little more direct and clear like wow. But for world exploration, high level combat, and a nearly endless quantity of masteries and collections to achieve, GW2 just has way more content in that area. And there are some maps in GW2 that blow away anything WoW has ever attempted to create. The verticality and scope of some maps in this game are mind boggling.
There's a nostalgic part of me that may go back and grind some classic at some point, but for my main every day game, it's GW2 hands down.
yey!
So, we can all agree that GW2 is superior in every single aspect right?
I like that I knew the answer to which you were dropping before I finished the video. GW2 is just plain better, you play it for fun, not out of obligation to catch up.
bro, choosing one of these game its so dificult when u're a content creator, but you made the right decision
I havent played wow in 2 months. 2 months ago I gave gw2 a shot and I can't get enough of it.
Funnily enough, GW2 did quarterly updates for the first few years leading up to the first expansion
Its so weird, i see GW2 players dooming hard and moving to WoW, and WoW players are dooming and moving to GW2. At one point the entire playerbase will be swapped out lol
Guild wars 2 is my favorite MMORPG for me. Really complete, qualitative, dynamic gameplay, and the universe is… soothing.
always think its hard to really objectively choose between these games. Most people who have tried both strictly prefer one or the other. As a wow player I got very bored of guild wars 2 once I was only really grinding to make my character look cooler. The content wasn't as challenging to me as world of warcraft was and most WoW players love when new gear comes out because there's something new to grind for.
Im playing since 2005, and i love WOW but enough is enough…
Blizzard does not deserve our money anymore. There was a quality back then witch worth the subscription but its long gone. They fired nearly all of the GMs, there is no resonable customer support anymore, only some AI generated auto answer shit, witch is fast but if u have some real buggy stuff it takes forever to get a real GM to fix it… They dont give a shit about BOT farmers, Bug exploiters or the whole BOOST community. To be honest when you can buy gold for money VIA token +you can boost everything with that gold isnt it pay2win?
For me the last neil in the coffin was this Travelers Log, witch is really good idea on paper, it was good for 3 months but now they started to add more and more expensive stuff and now they selling Tender for money… SO you cant even buy the spicy stuff whiteout investing money…
Enough… I have to buy expansions every 2 years, i have to pay for sub…and this is not enough for them to get a full-fledged game, of course, there are only mounts and cosmetic things in the traveler log…but this is a buy2play+monthly fee game…
If I buy it and pay the monthly fee, I don't want to spend another 50-100 euros on it every month to be able to get the things I like.
This turned out to be a bit long comment, but this is my opinion about blizzard's greed… its unacceptable.
As a wow and gw2 player, play wow right from vanilla and Gw2 started on core, play until mid magumma, i can say, gw2 has better combat, better gear, but i wish we have more dificult things to do, more raids, more strikes more challenging Metas
I've played WoW before and would definitely try guild wars 2.
i like wow but the constant chasing of gears just to keep up or you'll be out for most of the content is what drove me away. I as well cannot keep up with constant being online as I have work now and it's not like 10 or 15 years ago that responsibility is just a word for me while I can log in in gw2 and just do some things and log out and not be online for few days and my gears are still good.
I also stayed away from wow because of the subscription which forces you to go online and not waste it and sometimes, I cannot go online because of work schedules.
I think stylized fantasy fits more for GuildWars2 then WoW actualy. And they are both fantasy with magic and dragons ect. What you mean how WoW looks is, comic artstyle. Cartoonish almost.
And for that classic / retail thing… Ah cmon shut up, most of us play both versions… And if they say they play only 1 version, they simply lie 😂 Yes some prefer one version, but it fluctuale aswell, from one to the other. ^^ Classic is good to come down, it doesent always have to be playing Piano ^^ i like the slow paste what classic has.
WoW to me is that game that I can play with my friends to raid once a week and log into whenever I want. Due to raiding the gear grind doesnt stop, but I think I will be trying GW2 for the 2nd time (I bought it on launch)
I want to explore something new. Been a WoW player since 2004 and there is nothing left to explore for me.
Time to log into GW2.
As far as instanced dungeons in gw2: it's still worth it to go back if you reached lvl 80 for the currencies to unlock each dungeons armor and weapon skins
believe it or not i prefer gw2 its more social its got way more people around as server hopping
Thank you for actually making a decision. I thought you were just going to say " i can play both because f*** u "
WoW is only suited for us who is addicted to the Game decades ago, we can't Quit it.
new players will never be hooked to the Game for years, cuz Blizzard is the most greedy Company in the world, and the game isn't built for new players only for us Veteran players.
fanboys suck
I really enjoyed playing an Evoker and going the DF, after all I'm a BC Baby (quite literally, I was only 9 when I started playing WoW lol) but my biggest problem always came down to the actual leveling process. It's fun for the first time and maybe the second with a different class– but long-term the grind is a pain when the world isn't updated in nearly 80% of the available content to the point that many models have gear issues where they have a cube instead of a chest piece.
While I played GW1 and GW2, my game is ESO. It's one of the few MMO's I really enjoy, though I'll probably end up taking a break when the in-game shop eventually breaks my will to keep playing again (it's funny seeing people talk about Microsoft saving WoW and all I can think is that they are going to need to get used to the in-game shop being bloated to high hell.) I also saw the GW2 released Cantha, my favorite zone/expansion from GW1 when I went into DF, so who knows… maybe I'll grab Lu Ten He, my lovely Canthan necromancer that I made in GW2 and push through the content I had left in Heart of Thorns to see the Kaineng City and the Jade Sea again.
I started wow and i like mindlesly exploring the world but combat dont suits me so ill just go through expansions with chromies and leave the game :V
The biggest issue with GW2 I have is lack of new races and professions…
How is the gearing system in Guild wars 2 do you have to regear every 3 months or does your gear last longer?
Its all about your goals. I've played GW2 for about 19 years and like a month of WOW lol they each have their pro and con. We have less pedigree and resources so no cgi and barely any cinematics but we do have a friendly base, dedicated devs, and no sub with content coming every month and also more every 3 months now.
Played GW 2 since 2012 until 2022 then i started FF14. Bought Dragon' End expansion but i wasnt stunned as PoF. GW is better than WoW in any sence but maybe i prefer FF because is more interesting as story and dungeons. Got atatched by heroes in FF14 for 5 months more than the story in GW2 in 10 years! Also more complex than WoW haha. Maybe is end of an era for me with GW2 a good firend who can always return to.
comment to support your channel, just for deciding to stick with GW2, instead of WoW.
Welcome to Tyria! I played gw for 7 years and will continue to do so! i have everthing i need from a game, and no need to spend much money on it. In life I have a small buiness, a kid, a dog, and i can combine everything playing guild wars every night. I still love it since the start.
is there arena pvp in guild wars?
You killed me with saying GW2 doesn’t have grab this and return quests. I just finished my third core map clear and I believe I reasonably disagree lol.
