World of Warcraft (Wrath Classic) – Part 2: The Undercity – First Playthrough

Okay World of Warcraft, you did good, Agamand Mills was SUCH A COOL QUEST LINE. I wasn’t sure where it was going and then BAM. It all came together at once in such a cool way. The Undercity also has such a great design and vibe to it, I know I missed a lot of stuff wandering around because I got a bit turned around. Don’t worry, I find more parts of the Undercity later on (ie: Sylvanas)! I just got a bit overwhelmed the first time going into it.

  1. Its amazing you didnt die when you went to the scarlet monastery. I remember my first time playing classic, I accidentally went to a higher lvl region and got my ass chewed to death by an angry wolf. I ran to my corpse and the same bastard got me again as I was running away to safety. How convenient it is to play a pet class and have your loyal buddy sacrifice themselves (against their will) while you escape.

  2. Not sure if you realize, I just didn’t see it, you can send the tank in first to gather up all the agro first and then start attacking. Like I said just didn’t see it the two fights I saw with the void

  3. If you ever need any help I am willing to lend a hand, I’ve got an ulduar bis Frostfire blood elf mage. Took a bit of a break so I am not up to the max tier stuff atm, but I still hit hard for 5k gearscore.

  4. 34:30 – You have a check box at the top of your spellbook that lets you see only the highest rank of your spells.
It's easier for me to update the spells with that enabled.
Related to that, you can learn new spells at the trainer at when you reach an even level.

36:46 – All "red" enemies will attack you, but the level difference between you will determine when the enemy will notice you.
If you are lower level than the enemy, they will start attacking you from really far away.
If you are higher level than the enemy, you will be able to get closer to the enemy without it attacking you.

  5. The way you play the game is really letting me appreciate the little, local storylines that populate these zones, which is something you so easily forget in an MMO like WoW. I really love your approach to this and I hope you keep it up!

  6. Don't forget to equip new aquired items. You can press and mantain SHIFT and point to items on your bags to compare them to what you have equipped. Also right click on an equipment item on the bag to equip it to your character. Nice videos!

  7. Sylvanas, our Dark Lady, our Queen, is the Forsaken' savior. She gave us a shelter, protection, hope… a home.
Well, at least until Battle For Azeroth was released, with this expansion "Blizzard" completely fu… ruined her character! 😒*Sigh!*… And yes, Sylvanas has no soul, because Frostmourne is basicaly an endless soul eater sword. If you recall Warcraft 3, our favourite dark knight, Arthas, sumon her spirit from death, not her soul, converting her in banshee.🤓

  8. btw you can add more hotbars and also rebind them all… I would suggest doing numbers and letters like "q,e,r,t" also F1,F2 etc… you can also add "alt", "shift" and "ctrl" to them so for example 1, alt+1, ctrl+1, shift+1 and bam you have 4 keybinds basically under 1 button… (more advanced would be creating modifier macros but it's not necessary)
I played warlock for 6 years (it was my 1st ever class) and it gets a lot of skills/pet actions

  9. One important question: Do you still have the "jouyous journeys" buff enabled, or did you disable it at the inkeeper in undercity? The buff gives you 50% more experience, leading to you quickly outlevelling the content/zones you are questing in (you probably already noticed that msot of the enemes got green quickly, signifiying that you are higher than you should be). For the full experience, would highly recommend it to disable it for the moment.

Of course, if you want to get to the endgame/high level fast, then having it enable is of course the right choice,

  10. I know you're most interested in the Lich King story line but I want to recommend Classic Vanilla. You're playing more in mind of the original design. I know I'm in a massive minority but I'm one of the players who doesn't use addons and plays Vanilla, and seeing you figure out where the quests are in your mind BEFORE you open the map to spoil the adventure is really pleasing. And WotLK just waters down a lot of mechanics like that to get you to progress faster, instead of Vanilla's approach that allows you to soak in the experience as if you were playing it for the first time. ESPECIALLY if you a warcraft fan.

While WotLK seems most likely for you to enjoy story wise I hope you consider trying a character on Vanilla, it provides a more immersive experience, like rewarding you reading the quest and paying attention, and given your passion for the series so far you'd enjoy any race's starting areas.

  11. Thanks again for the content.

You can reset your talent points at a trainer if you want to.

So the Frostmourne soul thing I don't think is particularly well fleshed out in the game if I recall so I'll explain it here, just stop reading if you don't want to know.

So Frostmourne is a blade that feasts on souls. It eats the soul of the wielder and the souls of those it slays, however for Arthas to raise someone from the dead they need to retain their soul after which he mind controls them. So in the case of Sylvanas, her soul is still intact as she was transformed and raised as undead before her soul left her body. But in the case of someone like Terenas (Arthas' dad) who died from Frostmourne, his soul is stuck in the blade itself.

  12. Really liking these! Slow pace reading the quests and all… Keep it up! Feels like what I went through 20 years ago. I haven't played Horde so much and especially not Undead so this brings out a lot of lore that I've probably missed or don't remember.

Did you guys see her reaction to that STAFF with +3 stamina ? 🙂 That is classic.. even a little upgrade means a lot.. doesn't have to be +100 or some big numbers like nowadays.

By the way, weapon damage does not affect your spells. You need to get items with +spell damage or + shadow damage etc (it might be just +spell power in wrath). But those appear later on. In the beginning, training the skills up should be enough and + intellect helps to increase mana pool which lets you cast for longer times.. Also +stamina and bigger HP pool helps Warlock since they get soul tap spell which converts HP to mana.

  13. So clad you are reading the quests. The flavor of the messages gets you more immersed in the lore. Like you said, you are one of the units in Warcraft ]I[ under a magnifying glass. Use your cloth creating and make stronger armor. Enjoy the journey.

  15. If you feel like running out of action bars (slots where your abilities, spells etc. are) you can add more of them to be visible from:
    Menu -> Interface
It has been long time since i last time played so i cannot remember exactly from there, but once you find spot you can add up to 4 or 6 more action slots to be visible. You can also add keybinding to them as well (for example: number 2 = "Immolation", CTRL + 2 = "Curse", ALT + 1 = "Summon Imp" and so on).

Once again, you can put there your Spells, Abilities, Items, other stuff you find later, Profession buttons to quickly open crafting menu, Macros, Options, even passives(but why?).

  16. Oh man what a joy to see you hear the screams and see the blood in the throne room. The undercity was my first major Horde settlement I got to experience like yourself and I found myself just wandering getting lost in halls and hidden passages, it honestly is one of the best parts of WoW. Take some time and drink in the world a bit, we all did when we started.

Can't wait to see another episode!

  17. I dont usually comment but i felt i just had to say i have loved watching your journey through warcraft lore. It reminds me a lot of my own fascination with the lore. I played Warcraft 2 and 3 way back when the first came out and probably finished wc3 10+ times since. I played WoW from beta, all the way to ice crown in wotlk and have followed the lore despite not having the desire or time to play since. Ive tried watching other people play through the game for the first time but it was always unedited and just required way too much time to follow. Your editing has made it easier to watch. I just wish you could upload more frequently! The anticipation is worse than having to wait a week between episodes of a show.

  18. watching this so far has been an absolute joy – as soon as I watched the first episode I subbed, you have such a good attitude and watching someone new go through the game is like vicariously living through them to see it all for the first time again.

my only tip is, go at your own pace! don't feel bad if you think you're going slow at all, there's so much to see and do and you have ample time to see it all.
