  1. If cataclysm would not have changed the world and kill off the regular talent system I would have surely enjoyed it. Blizzard had the chance with classic to not only revive the old game but improve upon it. Cata classic should have the option to do old content like naxx 40 too if we can already switch between Onyxia versions. Put in timewalking too, don't wait until MoP. Make the Shattering and the New Azeroth lvl 80-85 leveling zones. Replicating everything will just repeat history.

I don't say Cataclysm is bad either but it took so much away and given so few that it doesn't worth it for me… 🙁

  2. Too many of us are tainted from the original timeline. I also got an email showing a free weekend for Cata tryout – login and see my server was dead dead. Server list showed locked and found out there are active open transfers to only 3 servers for both PVE/PVP… Wotlk had serious drop off and it doesnt look like Cata is bringing them back. I would say while the game isnt as good with Wotlk/Cata and beyond – the damn botting/gdkp and toxic community are probably more to blame for the huge drop off. I think people only came back for Wraith because they thought maybe they didnt give it a fair shake like myself but ended up realizing that it was indeed the turning point along side the current community – Cata wont get that same treatment imo. Could be wrong but I think the silent majority probably shares that view and wont give Cata a 2nd chance to change their old viewpoint.

  4. Good to see other vanilla wow players not straight up compare cataclysm to dragon flight. Personally for me I enjoyed cataclysm for it's mix of class identity/balance more fun version of wotlk class design but each class doesn't have every defensive/healing capability and cc like in mop

  5. Let's be real.. cata rage originally was 3 big things..

Terrible timetable release cycle with smaller raids AFTER T11.

The "give" you D3 to bait you into a trap… either 6 month or a year-long sub when they knew they weren't releasing any new content.

Content difficulty jump that people didn't see coming. Bads were exposed. The GMs girl couldn't hide in a raid anymore.

I think these 3 things are mostly solved. Release cycle obviously solved. You won't have the D3 bait. Difficulty.. yeah.. who knows at this point. Nerfed states and generally better more informed players help it.. but yeah, we don't know about this last one.

  6. I like Cata, the only thing that was a bit too fast for me was leveling TBC Zones. I leveled the first zone a bit, then started to queue instances as healer, 2 min waiting time, and was 69 in a few hours from there. With the quests that you get at the start of every instance now, you fly through the levels.
You don't see anything from the TBC anymore including the higher level instances. I used heirlooms though.

  7. I dislike Cata over WotLK because of the change in style, it's just not as Warcraft anymore. Cata has some good things though like the first tier of raids and dungeons, they are great but after the first tier the expansion totally flops and new extremely shitty content is introduced like the Deathwing raid, that green Jesus thing and LFR. So WotLK > Cata to me.

  8. cata is not for me i don't want to reach max level quickly and do dungeons all the time i really disliked it at the time i wont tell my wow story again but its just not good and part of bad trends from 2010 that affected all mmos. there was a certain group of players that enjoyed it that was just into doing battle grounds and arena and nothing else and the raiding community maybe. but i enjoyed wow for the world design and when i played cata or post cata wow it just seemed like it was neutered.

i like to compare it with going to the roman empire vs going to Rome today .you are just quickly going around the city on a bus looking at the cool ruins with people explaining how this place used to be important or it used to be epic but now its not really important all the new important stuff is happening in another place .a better comparison is maybe like a ussr museum or something else people can remember because its supposed to be nostalgic to people who were playing wow before 2010 .but to new players it feels like they came late to the party .
