  1. There isn't subtitles. But, the FFXIV Reddit Discord has a translation channel that does "live" translations. They are just a bit behind the actual video. What people do is pull that Discord up and have it up while watching the video.

A few days after the live letter video on the official forums they do a summary of the video in translation. That's the official translation, but everyone relies on the unofficial translation from the Reddit Discord while watching.

Edit: The only time they have actual translations is when they put on something that is done in North America or Europe. So, when there's a fanfest set in NA, all that content that gets streamed has a translator (or multiple ones). There's a very nice woman who does the translations during that. But, Koji will also do translations sometimes. That typically only happens when there's multiple speakers.

  2. I've played both WoW and FFXIV for 6 months and I'm sticking with FFXIV for the welcoming community, balanced classes, engaging story, excellent music and modern graphics.
I'll check out Shadowlands if its amazing but it says a lot about Blizzard when their players applaud a delay smh
I still have hope for Shadowlands because a wise man once said "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

  3. Hi, I'm pretty sure I'll be checking out Bozjan Front (currently still subbed to FFXIV but not actively playing), if it sucks I'll still have the possibility to re-sub to WoW in order to level a few classes.

  4. Bozja will be the first current relic I'll be a part of, and I'm hyped through the roof
I got to pagos in eureka during some downtime in the raid scene and hit a wall I haven't taken a stab at since
I won't even try to get into atma/books and anima/light for the time being

  5. "What is the first thing you are going to do?" BUY A FREAKING HOUSE IN XIV is what im going to do the moment the servers are up! But on a serious note, Bozja is going to be first because I've already tried the class that i am going to be playing in SL on the PTR so i dont need to do it with old content such as BFA.

  6. Not hating on FF14.. i been playing FF since it was released as FF3 (Not FF6) for the Super Nintendo… but WoW just has a formula that other mmo’s can’t beat. FF14 comes kinda close but not really lol i rather play a failed expansion for WoW than a good expansion on FF14

  7. I'll be playing 5.35 – Can't play the Shadowlands pre-patch as after feeling so let down by Blizz for the nth time I completely deleted my account battle.net account. I'll never go back to wow even though I put 10 years in to it … its just not the same anymore and died a long time ago so time to move on and FF has been hitting that spot for me so much as of late

  8. I would love for WoW to get good enough that it was worth playing in off years between FFXIV expansions – but I really fear that isn't going to happen. The people at Activision Blizzard don't understand where they are going wrong (the new Conduit Currency – a tremendous amount of work to put in a new system to fix a problem they created for a system no one asked for).

As for Gunbreaker, all I could think was "Explosions! I need more explosions!"

Addendum: I actually reactivated my WoW account on September 26th so I could play some WoW before Shadowlands released and then leave on the 26th. I unlocked Vulpera and made one to level. But I far more interested in Bosjian on Launch Day.

  9. I'm playing WoW on the 13th. Realistically I don't expect to resub to xiv before patch 5.56, although if Shadowlands turns out to be WoD 3.0 I might change my plans. I still watch the live letters and the FF content creators though.

Bozja looks interesting but it also scares the hell out of me because this will 100% be a salt mine on week one due to the limited group size for the NMs. It's the kind of content I would typically wait 2 or 3 weeks before getting into to get a pleasant experience. Kind of like blue mage and the Baldesian Arsenal.

  10. To be honest, I dont think FF14 is even competing against WoW. They are just motivated by their own supply of high they get from being successful as a company. But it's painfully obvious that WoW is trying to compete against FF14. This is their 3rd time aligning their release event after FF14 made an announcement.

  11. Last time I played Wow, was classic, stopped back in WotLK.
I'm still new to FFXIV, but loving it, and the old content I often discover still has purpose and worth/value. Looking forward to when I'm actually in sync with the content but I'm not rushing it at all. Trying to enjoy the journey to end game as much as possible.

  12. FFXIV just has so much more content being added in each major patch while Blizzard keeps wasting development ressources on reinventing the wheel and reworking systems over and over again because they launch in an atrocious state. FFXIV's systems are a very solid base that rarely ever see dramatic changes, so in turn they can build LOTS of content upon those systems.
The upside to Blizzard's approach is that the game always feels pretty fresh when a new expansion launches while in FFXIV you can expect roughly the same as the previous expansion but with more polish.
