  1. I used to love collecting mounts and I remember getting my 100 mount achievement for the red dragonhawk in MoP. I have not skipped any expansions and I even play dragonflight, but I no longer collect mounts because it is way too over saturated so it lost it's value. I recently got 350 mounts and did not feel any excitement because it is not even a large achievement anymore. I used to collect achievements, but now there are so many achievements behind each and every thing in the game that it is hard to motivate myself to grind out the content. It turned into chorecraft over warcraft in my opinion and it's not exciting.

  2. I came from games like Dark Age of Camelot into WoW on release. I played a cleric DAoC. Mobs hitting you would always interrupt casting, you could combat rez if you had the half a bar of mana it took to do so, what you did meant something. No add-ons and enough downtime between pulls to be able to interact with your party members. WoW made a lot of things much easier, but I feel that also made the experience less valuable to me. I played WoW up until BC and then lost interest as a casual player as it all got too sweaty, even back then. I agree with Asmon, get rid of parsing, get rid of add-ons and let's get back to player skill being the only measure. People will know your name if you are good and you will be more than a collection of add-ons and parse logs.

  3. Asmongold is made up of 50% soda (which is water) and therefore the light from the camera is being refracted upon hitting Asmongold's 50% water body resulting in this strange phenomena. Grease and water do not mix so this is magnified even further.

  4. As someone who has barely played WoW, but works in video game QA. I think one of the most important overlooked things to note is that the First Time User Experience is atrocious in this game. It doesn't teach you much and in my opinion the intro quests are just bizarre and unimmersive. Every game needs to constantly recruit new players in order to keep a live service title alive. You see this in their marketing. In my opinion, from what I've seen, it feels like Blizzard entirely markets towards recruiting new players and yet it seems like they haven't touched their first time user experience in probably 10-15 years. Going into this game for the first time in like 2022 I thought the golden path beginning of the game would have been completely revamped and revitalized. I was a bit shocked that it felt like something that hadn't been adjusted since its release.

  5. I disagree with the addon removal. Strictly due to the fact that there are numerous people with sight and hearing disabilities that play WoW. A lot of these niche addons are what has made the game accessible/playable for them. I know it's a small representation, but I doubt that we can expect to blizzard to pick up that kind of slack after removing all addons.

  6. This was a great opportunity for them to make this free to play and get a bunch of new players into the WoW franchise, as people that liked it could have went on to try retail. But no, even this is locked behind their monthly subscription. Another L for Blizzard, but what to expect from them it's always the same.

  7. subscription for a 20 year old game thats really not that fun anymore is another nail in the coffin of wow…..its what permanently pushes alot of people out of the game that would at least play it casually if it actually had a business model that doesnt just kill the playerbase more and more each expansion that you also pay as a full new aaa game….guess the approach is to just milk the die hard fans to the very last drop and count on many nostalgia junkies to buy the new expansion and play for a month or two and quit….moneys in the bank while the game is an elitist graveyard borefest..

  8. As an addon user and addict, I would love to see all of them completely removed and banned. I agree 1000% percent with that opinion. Imo they have played a huge part in killing the community. I would much prefer pier to pier discussions to help each of us improve together. As a whole, as well as individuals. Also, it is super convoluted as far as abilities and understanding.
